“The Committee is discriminating against these college students purely on the basis of their association with Gordon College and their imputed religious beliefs,” he said. “This the Constitution forbids.”
In other words, Gordon College may well have a legal case against some of the organizations that have banished the college since Mr. Lindsay’s July 1 letter went public.

Gordon has taken the high road despite an onslaught to its reputation of near-biblical proportions. Although Mr. Lindsay said he had signed the White House letter — along with 14 other religious leaders — as an individual and not on behalf of the school, Gordon has borne the brunt of the backlash.
A week after the letter was sent, Salem Mayor Kimberley Driscoll ended the city’s contract with Gordon to manage the Old Town Hall, citing Mr. Lindsay’s “hurtful and offensive” stance. Shortly thereafter, the Peabody Essex Museum cut off its relationship with the school’s museum studies program.
In August the New England Association of Schools and Colleges announced that Gordon would have a year to prove that its “policies and procedures are non-discriminatory” based on its long-standing Life and Conduct Policy against “homosexual practice.” The college calls on all students to avoid sex outside marriage, with a biblical definition of marriage as a male-female union.
At Emmanuel College, a Catholic school in Boston, athletic director Pam Roecker said that Emmanuel would no longer compete against Gordon sports teams after the 2014-15 academic year, according to the student newspaper The Hub.

Police Conduct Counter Terrorism Training With Military

In August of 2014, military helicopters flew low over residential neighborhoods of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, engaged in a series of night-time training exercises. The exercises involved the Naval Warfare Development Group - a "special forces" component of the U.S. Navy - and were aimed at enhancing urban combat tactics.
Just as they had two years earlier, military personnel had come to the Twin Cities to conduct counter-terrorism training operations in an urban environment. And just as before, those operations commenced with little advance notice to the public.

As referenced by Kingsbury, the 2014 exercises had been solicited by the U.S. military via a letter delivered to Minneapolis mayor Betsy Hodges. The letter requested the Mayor's support for "low-intensity urban tactical training" by special forces personnel who are "constantly refining tactics to learn how to most effectively engage the enemy while ensuring the safety of non-combatants."
As with the 2012 exercises, it appears that plans were made to provide cross-training exercises for Minneapolis police officers. "Hopefully," Kingsbury's states in his e-mail, "we will have the opportunity to get some of our folks into the game like we did last time."

Navy's 2014 letter also stated that its exercises would help its personnel in "preserving evidence for criminal prosecution" and that the relationships established with urban law enforcement professionals would be critical to the Navy's "future success."

Due to the existence of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, federal military personnel have largely been barred from participating in civilian law enforcement in a direct, operational capacity. While Congress has provided Posse Comitatus exceptions for logistics and counter-narcotics support, federal law still prohibits military personnel from engaging in arrests, evidence collection, and other tasks in support of domestic public safety and criminal prosecution.
Do the references to "evidence collection" by Navy personnel indicate that the military is actively preparing to undertake such operations on the domestic front? Or do the references point to some other function?

Minneapolis City Council Member Blong Yang was quoted on KSTP TV as saying that the Minneapolis City Council was "not notified of the event." Likewise, Council Member Cam Gordon told the City Pages newspaper that he felt "like an idiot" for being unable to respond to constituent questions with specific information. In the aftermath of the event, Council Member Yang called for public hearings.

Cyrus, a member of the Brooklyn North Narcotics squad, entered the Yemen Deli and Grocery store on Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant last Friday night with several other cops after receiving a tip the employees were selling the loose cigarettes.
Surveillance video shows Cyrus stuffing a wad of bills into his pocket as the officers conducted a search of the store after arresting Faladh Al Awadhy, 23 and Ghazi Alkasri, 34 and charging them with selling unstamped cigarettes.
It wasn’t until the following day that store owner Ali Abdullah noticed the money was missing from a cigar box he kept under the counter, he said, adding that the money was supposed to go toward the businesses’ rent.
“At first I’m thinking my employees took the money,” he said. “I had to ask them where did the money go. They were mad that I accuse them.”
Abdullah went back and looked at the store’s elaborate 12 camera surveillance system and witnessed the cop emptying the cigar box and then pocketing the money.

The YouTube clips shows the vandals, who belong to a group they call the “subway conquestors,” repeatedly opening a B train car door– which transit sources say requires two different transit keys.
It appears the B train is laid up underground, possibly because of winter weather, sources added.
One of the keys the group has obtained can open a subway car door when it’s stopped inside a tunnel, and another can open a door into a train cab,
“The tools they have give them a lot of power,” said a transit source. “They seem to have enough knowledge to pull off something very dangerous. These kids have the tools and knowledge to open the doors of the train between stations, put trains into emergency braking, and even hijack a train with passengers on it.”
Transit workers suspect Keyshawn Brown, who was busted Tuesday for a small subway explosion in Brooklyn, may have stolen the keys, but this has not been substantiated. His mother is an MTA subway conductor.

Speaking on the radio, he suggested that California’s huge crop of marijuana plants is “depleting the water table,” and is partially responsible for the massive shortfalls in water that the state is now facing.
It may sound outlandish, but it turns out that there may be something to the good doctor’s theory.
As anyone who has ever had the misfortune to visit, say, Santa Cruz can attest, there’s a lot of marijuana in California. (This despite the fact that it’s only legal for medicinal use in the state.) Indeed, by some estimates, California now produces more marijuana than Mexico.

Politics follows culture. And the cultural revolution of the ’60s is triumphant. Traditional Christianity, driven out of schools and the public square, is being whipped back into the churches and told to stay there.
America has gone over to the revolution.

No matter what the majority wanted, the minority prevailed, thanks to a Supreme Court whose dictates were never challenged by democratically elected presidents or Congresses, nor ever defied by a Christian majority.

First comes a call for tolerance for those who believe and behave differently. Then comes a plea for acceptance.
Next comes a demand for codifying in law a right to engage in actions formerly regarded as debased or criminal. Finally comes a demand to punish any and all who persist in their public conduct or their private business in defying the new moral order.

Religious folks who do not believe in collaborating with what they think is wrong should go forth and do likewise.
Courage as well as cowardice is contagious.

Public Sector Unions Force Members to Pay Dues, Use Taxpayer Funds for Political Purposes

America’s four largest labor unions spent more than $179 million last year promoting big government, and did so using taxpayer money.
Public-sector unions were crucial to the passage of Obamacare, and in 2014 they helped push progressive priorities including minimum-wage hikes and amnesty for illegal immigrants.
It’s widely known the National Education Association, Service Employees International Union, American Federation of Teachers and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees are among the country’s top campaign donors.
Not content to fund politicians who will advance their agenda, NEA, SEIU, AFT and AFSCME also bankroll dozens of think tanks and activist groups fighting for bigger government in the name of “social justice.”

F. Vincent Vernuccio, labor policy director at the free-market Mackinac Center for Public Policy, [. . ] said public-sector union funding of politicians and advocacy groups yields more taxpayer money for public-sector unions to spend on politicians and advocacy groups.
“This cycle goes on and on, and everyone is happy … everyone except for the taxpayer, who at the end of the day is stuck footing the bill,” he said.
Public-sector unions’ political spending is a disservice to the 40 percent of union members who vote Republican, Vernuccio said.

Combined, the four unions take dues from the paychecks of roughly 7 million teachers and government workers. Through payroll dues deduction, public agencies redirect public funds to NEA, SEIU, AFT and AFSCME at taxpayer expense.
In 21 states, teachers and other public employees who decline union membership can be forced to pay union “agency fees” in order to have a job.
Based on the unions’ annual reports to the U.S. Department of Labor, last year AFSCME spent $65 million on campaign contributions, lobbying and political advocacy ,while SEIU spent $52 million, NEA spent $35 million and AFT spent $27 million.

Sharpton and De Blasio Promote Misguided Police Reforms

On the occasions when FBI informant Sharpton, and New York Mayor De Blasio are not acting the fools, they express misguided solutions to police abuses. They did not think this one through, if they are sincere in their support of civil rights. If there ever was a national, one size fits all police standard, it may dangerously place all police under one command, as the state of Massachusetts did. That allows for one person who may be popularly elected with enormous support to end the freedoms under the constitution. Already the therapeutic state successfully obliterated the First Amendment censoring some words, and pushing vigorously for the end to religious protections. Here Sharpton and de Blasio promote the idea of one police force in the nation. If anyone did get control of that mechanism, it would enable a dictatorship.

Cheney also touched on Obama’s comments on Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, telling Hewitt that Obama is the only post-World War II president to believe that America doesn’t need “to play a leading role in the world.”

[From article] A white police officer who gunned down a fleeing, unarmed black man appeared to plant his service-issue Taser gun at the side of the victim's lifeless body, according to shocking videotape which emerged in the wake of the senseless killing.


Killing: Walter Scott, was killed by South Carolina Policeman Michael Slager. Scott was in the Coast Guard for two years, and is pictured in uniform. Slager is being held in jail on murder charges.
Patrolman Michael Slager, 33, opened fire on father-of-four Walter Scott, 50, in North Charleston, South Carolina, on Saturday morning after reportedly stopping him over a broken tail light.
Slager was charged with murder on Tuesday and could face the death penalty after the incendiary footage emerged. The officer had previously defended his actions, saying he feared for his life after Scott wrestled his Taser gun from him during a scuffle.
However, cellphone footage from the scene showed Scott getting around 15-20 feet away before Slager opened fire with seven shots in quick succession followed by an eighth. The 50-year-old U.S. Coast Guard veteran was hit five times.
The officer then slowly walked toward him and ordered Scott to put his hands behind his back, but the man didn't move.
Slager then handcuffed his lifeless body before jogging back to where he had fired the shots to pick up an object from the ground - possibly the Taser.
The officer then returned to Scott where a second officer was on the scene. Slager can be seen on video tape appearing to drop an object next to the victim's body.
The footage also contradicted police claims that officers performed CPR on the suspect.

According to the Post and Courier, Scott had a warrant out for his arrest from family court at the time of his death.
He has been arrested around ten times, mostly for contempt of court charges for failing to pay child support, included one accusation of a violation stemming from an assault and battery charge in 1987, the paper reported.

A North Charleston police officer was arrested on a murder charge Tuesday after video surfaced of the lawman shooting eight times at 50-year-old Walter Scott as he ran away.
Scott died after Patrolman 1st Class Michael Slager, 33, shot Scott in the back.
Police Chief Eddie Driggers said Tuesday that Slager had been arrested. SLED spokesman Thom Berry confirmed that the officer had been book into Charleston County’s jail on a murder charge.

The footage, filmed by an anonymous bystander, shows the end of the confrontation between the two on Saturday after Scott, who had a warrant out for his arrest, ran from a traffic stop. It was the first piece of evidence that could contradict a statement that Slager released to the public through his attorney.

The development in Scott’s death also came on the same day when SLED arrested a North Augusta police officer in the Feb. 9, 2014, shooting death of Ernest Satterwhite. The officer, 25-year-old Justin Gregory Craven, faces a count of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, a felony charge punishable with up to 10 years in prison.

Cambridge Police spokesman has a long history of explaining what he does not know. Here he cites the District Attorney's office ruling the human remains as a homicide. Last time I saw Law and Order it was the job of the Medical Examiner to make such judgments. Warnick likes to do this for the ME but this time he cites the DA. Colina previously worked out at the Cambridge Athletic Club but was kicked out following a fight over gym equipment on November 24.
A witness told the Herald how Colina started punching a much smaller man all over his body as the man unsuccessfully tried to fight back. He suffered bloody cuts to his head, the witness said.
'The trainers broke the fight up,' he said. 'Carlos gets up and starts walking away, yelling, "I'm a beast! I'm a beast!’ like he was proud of himself.'
The victim suffered broken ribs in the attack, WHDH reported.
Colina has an outstanding assault and battery case pending against him from the fight.

Colina is believed to have known his alleged victim; he is friends with his younger brother, Christopher Camilien, on Facebook. The two brothers lived together in Somerville.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said Camilien's death is considered a homicide, even though Colina has not been charged with murder. She said analysis of evidence and more information from the medical examiner are needed to determine if additional charges are warranted.
'We are not seeking anyone else in connection with the discovery of these human remains,' she said.
No motive has been released.

“It’s a senseless killing of a trusting young man who trusted a good friend — and look what happened to him,” said Dominique Camilien, uncle of Jonathan Camilien, whose mutilated remains were discovered in two locations in Cambridge on Saturday. “We want to know how something like this could even happen. The family needs to find some closure and understanding to help them through this nightmare.”
After parts of Camilien’s butchered body were found stuffed in a duffel bag around 8 a.m., detectives reviewing surveillance video captured near the scene were led to a nearby apartment building, where they found more bags containing body parts — including the missing limbs and head, according to court documents.

“They were friends. They’ve known each other for quite a while, and I cannot speculate about what happened because I don’t know all the details,” Camilien said. “(Jonathan) is a good kid, he doesn’t bother anybody. He’s just an easygoing kid. ... It’s one of those things we didn’t ever expect to happen — not to Jonathan. He didn’t deserve this.”
Aime Camilien said Jonathan’s brother Christopher has been “inconsolable.”
“That’s his best friend. They lived together. They were like a unit. We used to always call them Chris and Johnny, they’re like twins,” she said through tears. “We’re all still trying to make sense of it. He was a good kid who came from a good family.

A man who worked out at the Cambridge Athletic Club before Colina was kicked out over a Nov. 24 fight said he had noticed disturbing behavior.
The witness who spoke to police about the gym fight, for which Colina is still facing assault charges, said after learning of the new charges, “My stomach felt sick once I realized I had a connection, however faint, to this guy. It just made me sick.”
The 26-year-old Boston man, who spoke to the Herald on the condition of anonymity, said, “Maybe two months before the fight, we saw Carlos ask some people when they’d be done with the equipment they were using. They said they’d be done very soon. But Carlos stood there and glared at them.”
Of the November fight, he said, “Carlos outweighed him probably by more than 100 pounds. Carlos was punching him all over the body, and the other guy was trying to fight back. He started bleeding. There was a lot of blood coming from his head. ... The trainers broke the fight up, and Carlos gets up and starts walking away, yelling, ‘I’m a beast! I’m a beast!’ like he was proud of himself. The gym manager told him to get his things and get out of there.”

Colina's attorney John Cunha maintained his client's innocence in court, entering a not guilty plea on his behalf. “Our hearts go out to the deceased,” Cunha told reporters. “I can't imagine a worse loss.”
A police report filed in court indicates that surveillance footage shows a man dropping off the duffel bag outside the global headquarters of pharmaceutical giant Biogen at 225 Binney St. around 7:54 a.m. Saturday. The bag contained a headless torso with its arms severed below the armpits and its legs dismembered from below the knee, records state.
Investigators used surveillance footage to then track the suspect to his nearby apartment on Sixth Street where police said cameras captured him and the victim leaving and returning at different times the previous night.
After entering the apartment building, police said they found a bag containing what appeared to be a foot in a common trash room on the third floor and detected vacuum cleaner noises and a strong odor of bleach coming from Colina's apartment down the hall.
Later, a medical examiner determined that other white garbage bags found in the same trash room contained the missing limbs and a head, along with credit cards and a license belonging to the victim. An autopsy also revealed trauma to the victim's face, head and body, officials said.
After obtaining a warrant, detectives who searched Colina's apartment said they found a piece of rope, a handsaw with a broken handle and what appeared to be dried red-brown stains on its blade, cleaning supplies, and what seemed like tool marks inside a bath tub. Where pieces of a carpet had been removed, investigators found dried red-brown stains on the floor, the report said.

One person was arrested after the gruesome discovery of human remains in a duffel bag near a walking path in Cambridge yesterday morning led authorities to a nearby apartment building where more discarded body parts were found, officials said.



“Officers responded to that area, opened that bag and determined the bag contained human remains,” Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan said of the grisly find near the intersection of Binney and Sixth streets at approximately 8 a.m.
After reviewing surveillance video captured near where the duffel bag was found, detectives went to Kendall Crossing Apartments, located adjacent to the Cambridge Police Department, where “additional human remains were found (in) a common area,” Ryan said.
It is unclear whether the body parts belong to the same victim, Ryan said, though she added investigators “believe it to be one person.”
One unidentified suspect has been arrested in connection with the horrific discovery, Ryan said, and will be arraigned tomorrow in Cambridge District Court on charges of being an accessory after the crime of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and the improper disposal of human remains.
Cambridge police Commissioner Robert C. Haas stressed that authorities don’t believe there is an active threat to area residents.

Police have arrested a suspect after human remains were found at two different locations in Cambridge on Saturday.
During a press conference at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Cambridge Police Department, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said it is unclear at this point whether the remains found at the two locations are from just one victim or more. But she said they believe the remains are from one victim.
A suspect, who Ryan would not identify at this time, will be arraigned Monday, although she did not say whether that person is the prime suspect.

The judge’s Monday decision annuls Dershowitz’s filing to intervene; the district court judge, Kenneth A. Marra, wrote “as the Court has taken it upon itself to strike the impertinent factual details [from the case]...the Court concludes that Mr. Dershowitz’s intervention in this case is unnecessary.”
The judge’s decision does not directly address the veracity of Jane Doe No. 3’s claims, but rather their relevance to the ongoing case. Still, Dershowitz said he was optimistic about the latest developments.
“As far as I’m concerned, it was a total vindication,” he said.

Tour Buses Idling, Illegal Parking

These are images of one bus from one company, on two occasions, that runs tours to Cambridge and to Harvard University. It is not the only bus line that parks at the location and annoys residents at the location. On Wednesday April 8, 2015 beginning at about 2:40 PM a tour bus from Cape Destinations, bus number 954, was parked on the north side of Broadway between Quincy and Prescott Streets. Its motor was running causing exhaust fumes to come into nearby apartments. There are 15 residential units facing that segment of Broadway. This is a recurring inconvenience. Drivers may stop to check directions. But these are tour buses parked in a No Stopping Zone, idling (a state law violation), and waiting for their passengers to return. If I call the police dispatcher, by the time an officer arrives the bus leaves. But this time the bus fumes were extremely annoying, and unhealthy. 

I called to the dispatcher at 2:45 PM. He said he would send an officer. I do not know if an officer was dispatched but the bus left at 3:04 PM. Now that the snow has ended there will be more of these buses visiting Harvard and Cambridge. There used to be designated parking places along Mass Avenue from Quincy Street to Harvard Square. Automobile parking meters were replaced in that area. In this case it was the same bus, from the same company on two occasions. It appears to be one clueless and/or lawless driver. There are dozens of tour buses arriving in Cambridge and Harvard each day every day from many other states and Canada. Only this one demands his own staging area.

Police Chief Scott Keller confirmed to Delmarva Now that seven of the eight victims were juveniles between the ages of six and 16, but they have not been officially named as of midnight pending the notification of next of kin.
Bonnie and Lloyd Edwards, encountered outside the home by a reporter from The Associated Press, identified themselves as the mother and stepfather of Rodney Todd, 36, whom they identified as the adult who died. They said Todd had seven children, including five girls and two boys.
Bonnie Edwards identified the children as boys Cameron Todd, 13, and Zycheim Todd, 7; and girls Tynijuiza Todd, 15; Tykira Todd, 12; Tybree Todd, 10; Tyania Todd, 9; and Tybria Todd, 6.
Officers who responded to the home in the 30500 block of Antioch Avenue entered the residence and found the eight family members dead inside.
Officers observed that a gas generator in the kitchen had run out of fuel. The home had no electricity.
Chief Keller said they knew at once 'there weren't any live people in there.'

In his final, angry message to the world, delivered to the newspaper Monday morning, John Noble blamed his suicide on depression that set in after the Henderson resort awarded him free meals at the buffet for life then banned him from the property in 2013 for harassing some of the women working there.
“Today, I end my life due to the M Resort Spa Casino and its employees,” the 53-year-old Noble wrote in one of two suicide notes he included with an obsessively detailed dossier on the people he blamed for destroying his life.
At about 4:50 p.m. Sunday, Noble shot himself in the resort on Las Vegas Boulevard South near St. Rose Parkway. Henderson firefighters were already at the resort’s parking garage extinguishing a burning vehicle police now say belonged to Noble.

Mental health experts say high-profile, public suicides like this one are rare and troubling, because they often receive media coverage that can glamorize self-destructive behavior and lead to copycat deaths.

For 35 years the FBI broadcast several elements of character assassination directed at me. One was "He's a retired drug dealer." That may explain one reason why I've been under 24/7 surveillance including but not limited to telephone, computer and USPS mail communications for so many years continuing after 45 years. they just change their lies. They usually recruit a group who does not know me. They say "He's never been here," wherever here is at the moment. Who's going to believe him, they ask? He's poor. We've convinced everyone he's crazy, and no one knows him, after 45 years of scaring people and slandering him. That is what passes for accountability for government thugs and their useful idiot criminals who do their dirty work. 

The latest recruited group reportedly is the AARP (American Association of Retired Persons), as if they never heard of me. They only need to say, "He's never been here before." Facts are unimportant. They perform the same boring pattern of harassment as the previous ones, e.g., nine crime families, local police, FBI informants, Harvard University campus police, building superintendents, contractors, graduate students in psychology at Harvard University Medical School, etc. who were recruited before them. First they try to provoke me by harassing me as I do errands. Next they use young women as bait trying to have me arrested for attacking women, I suppose. It indicates they have depraved minds if that is what they think expect. They have no idea of how much criminal government abuse I experienced from demented police, FBI informants, Communists, government psychologists and psychiatrists, and assorted sociopaths.  

When those two protocols fail to achieve their goal, they enhance the harassment where I live disturbing my sleep and keeping me awake for up to eight hours when they are not waking me up every one or two hours. It does wonders for rational thought and long term planning. But also it is a major source of stress, intentional infliction of emotional and psychological stress. 
That is how homosexual police employees and FBI employees are held accountable in the state of Massachusetts in 2015. The state which is controlled by Harvard University and their alumni in government.

In a sign prosecutors and the U.S. Supreme Court may be getting supremely steamed at protesters who've repeatedly disrupted court sessions, the latest group of demonstrators is facing the stiffest penalties yet.
Five people arrested last week after voicing displeasure with court decisions that removed limits on political campaign contributions now face charges including one that carries a maximum jail term of a year and up to a $100,000 fine — a sharp escalation from the possible penalties sought after two earlier protests.
The protest was the third time in just over a year the same group has disrupted the high court, and Chief Justice John Roberts warned during the outburst that anyone disrupting proceedings could be charged with criminal contempt.
But that warning didn't stop last week's demonstration, and a leader of the group behind the protests would not rule out future demonstrations, despite what he called an effort to crack down on the courtroom disturbances. "We are not going to be silenced," said Kai Newkirk, whose group 99Rise opposes the influence of big money in elections.

As two of mankind’s great religions prepared to celebrate  Easter and Passover, terrifying  events on a single day involving a third religion revealed the perilous state of the world, circa 2015.
It was early last Thursday in Kenya when Islamists belonging to an al Qaeda franchise stormed a college, slaughtering nearly 150 Christian students. Survivors said hostages who could recite the Shahada, the Islamic creed, were freed unharmed while all ­others were murdered.
That same day, two Muslim women in Queens were arrested on charges of plotting to detonate a bomb in New York. They are said to be supporters of the Islamic State, with one woman allegedly telling an ­undercover FBI agent: “It’s war, it’s f- -king war.”

The war is on, it’s a world war, and because her side is more determined to win, nobody is safe.
Obama’s goal of bringing Iran in from the cold is, like much of his presidency, a vision divorced from reality. His hollow rhetoric echoes the appeasers who sought to stop Hitler in 1939 by giving him what he wanted.
This latter-day Chamberlain will be no more successful. Armed, expansionist ideologies must be stopped because they cannot be ­accommodated.

The paths to victory in both World War II and the Cold War were hardly smooth, but the West was blessed with leaders whose will was as mighty as our war machines.
They had the wisdom and compassion to make the world safe for democracy, which eventually took root around the globe. Scores of millions of people were liberated and a relative golden age of peace and prosperity marked the seven decades since, especially the last 25 years.
That era is over. It officially ended on 9/11, when war came to America, just as Pearl Harbor ended the fiction that fascism was somebody else’s problem.

She would commute into Manhattan daily as early as 2 a.m., complete her last shoot around lunchtime, and then be in the office working more stories in the afternoon. The source said, “Camille is a bully and will target people she doesn’t like, most often women. Lisa’s colleagues applaud Lisa’s mom for standing up to Camille.”



Page Six reported last week that WABC veteran Sarah Wallace is preparing for a legal battle after she was abruptly ousted by Edwards — who has been nicknamed “Camevil” in the newsroom — after 30 years at the station.

Q: In the past, rich, poor and middle-income New Yorkers lived in the same integrated buildings. What do you think of the current mutation to a rich door/poor dynamic?

It’s one of the most complicated problems we have to solve. I am not a politician, and it is a political problem to some extent. I think methods of subsidizing apartments in buildings which have higher-income people in them is a good way. But it does have certain limitations . . . Manhattan used to be a place where you had very rich people along Park Avenue, then you would turn a side street in the 80s or 90s and the incomes would decline over towards York Avenue. There was a cross-section of class and social groups. We’ve lost some of that. There are still a lot of tenements, but they need to be rehabbed.

Q: As for the rich doors/poor doors . . .

The “poor door” and “rich door” is kind of a silly argument. Say I live on West End Avenue and someone else lives on West 70th Street around the corner. If they have a nice apartment and they can afford it and it is a safe building that’s well managed, they don’t have to enter the same lobby. I have no problem if they come in the same lobby with me either. You can have it either way. I have no answers but I am not unmindful of the seriousness of this discussion.

We have these housing projects all over the city which were the best in the world when they were built in the 1930s to the ’50s, but they did isolate low-income people away from the city and certainly away from people of other income groups. Then I read about the banlieues in Paris and putting the poorest people outside and of course, the richest people live in the center of Paris, so I’m very nervous about these ideas. I’m very suspicious of the efficacy of these ideas.

Essential Oils Can Heal, Prevent Illness

If you do some research into the Royal English Archives, you'll come across an interesting little tidbit. It's a recipe for "thieves' oils." So the story goes: In the 17th century, when all of Europe was in the thrust of the Black Plague, a small band of marauding thieves seemed immune to the disease. They would enter the homes of Black Plague victims and have no fear of touching the bodies as they searched for jewelry and money. The King demanded to know their secret.
Their secret had to do with the oils they rubbed on their bodies. Because their family was from a long lineage of apothecaries, they had knowledge about how to use oils medicinally and prophylactically against disease. The King got the exact formulation they were using against Black Plague and this saved his entire family from the disease.
Today we think of essential oils as mere pleasant additions to a relaxing massage. But in olden days, some cultures valued oils even more than gold because their powerful healing properties were known.

The electrical frequency of essential oils ranges between 52 and 320 Hz. They have the highest frequency of any substance known to man. Because they are living substances, their frequency is harmonic with the human frequency. When essential oils come into contact with our bodies, the frequency of our bodies becomes raised to a degree so that we become inhospitable hosts to pathogenic organisms.

Possible therapeutic properties of essential oils:
Rose and lavender work well to treat insomnia. Rub the oil up and down the spine just before bedtime.
Peppermint relieves nausea, vomiting and fever and soothes indigestion.
Ylang ylang may reduce hypertension and high blood pressure. Bergamot is thought to be effective for insect bites, cold sores, sore throat and thrush.
Clove is one of three essential oils in which no bacteria, virus or fungi can live. It is used regularly in European hospitals.
Bitter fennel, dill and coriander have all been shown to aid diabetics in getting off insulin.
We also believe that the therapeutic effect of food supplements and herbs is greatly enhanced when essential oils are part of the formula. When herbs and food supplements are prepared for sale, they are dehydrated. This dehydration releases 90 percent of the essential oil of the plant. Without the oil, most of the life force of the plant has been evaporated out. We feel that this is one reason why herbs used today are less effective than when our ancestors used to just go to the fields and pick what they needed. When the essential oil is reintroduced into the supplement, you are guaranteed that the nutrients will reach the cellular level in your body.

University of Virginia Fraternity Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Rolling Stone Magazine

The fraternity at the center of a now-discredited Rolling Stone rape article says the story was defamatory and reckless and they are pursuing legal action against the magazine.
Phi Kappa Psi said Monday in a statement that the article was viewed by millions, led to members being ostracized and there was vandalism of the fraternity house.
The fraternity's statement came as the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism released a report, saying the magazine's shortcomings "encompassed reporting, editing, editorial supervision and fact-checking."

Survey Finds Ordinary Americans Support Deporting Illegal Aliens

Despite President Obama's efforts to cool the nation's views on illegal immigrants storming over the U.S.-Mexico border, Americans have reached a new level of anger over the issue, with most demanding a more aggressive deportation policy — and reversal of a law that grants citizenship to kids of illegals born in the U.S.
A new Rasmussen Reports survey released Monday also finds Americans questioning spending tax dollars on government aid provided to illegal immigrants. A huge 83 percent said that anybody should be required to prove that they are "legally allowed" to be in the country before receiving local, state or federal government services.

For example, 62 percent told the pollster that the U.S. is "not aggressive enough" in deporting those illegally in the United States. Just 15 percent believed the administration's current policy was "about right" and 16 percent said it was "too aggressive."
That 62 percent number is a jump from a year ago when it was 52 percent.

Fleas Test Positive For Plague in Arizona

Coconino County officials are taking precautions after finding fleas collected in Picture Canyon northeast of Flagstaff have tested positive for plague.

Officials are advising residents to take precautions such as using insect repellent and to avoid handling sick or dead animals.
Symptoms of plague appear within two to six days after initial exposure. They can include fever, chills, swollen lymph glands and muscle pain.

Illinois Workers Challenge Unions on Mandatory Dues

The future of public and private unions in two big labor-friendly states may be at stake as foes mount aggressive legal challenges over the long-controversial practice of mandatory dues.
The court cases in Illinois and California revolve around so-called "fair share" payments, or the dues unions extract from workers whose jobs stand to benefit from collective bargaining -- whether or not the workers are technically union members. Unions argue workers should have to pay their "fair share" of the costs of negotiating and administering a union contract, so they’re not getting a free ride from the union’s efforts.
But workers are often surprised to see money taken from their paychecks, without their consent.

“I don't feel that the union represents me 100 percent in what I believe and what I like to do,” Janus explained. “And nobody asked me if I wanted to join the union, they just said 'here's a job, you're in the union.'"
The intention of the lawsuit is to get a federal judge in Chicago, and ultimately the U.S. Supreme Court, to declare the fee for non-member dues unconstitutional.
In addition, [Republican Illinois Gov. Bruce] Rauner issued an executive order with the same purpose.
