"The unlikely Tea Party victor in the Delaware GOP primary, Christine O'Donnell, gained strength from the party's attacks against her. When the National Republican Senatorial Committee said the night of her win that it wouldn't fund her, it might as well have written her an oversized, Ed McMahon-style check: Within 36 hours, she'd raised almost a million dollars online in a gigantic rude gesture toward Washington."
