A 51-year-old Bucks County man was arrested after he was found living with 12 girls, including a teenager he considered his wife, and a baby and a toddler he fathered with her, authorities said Friday.
Lee Kaplan was arrested at his home in the 400 block of Old Street Road in Lower Southampton Township on Thursday morning after an anonymous tip led county child welfare workers and police to his door, said Lt. John Krimmel.
Some of the children were hiding in the small house.
"We kept finding more children," Krimmel said. "It's just a crazy situation."
The oldest girl, now 18, told police she was the mother of two of the girls, a 3-year-old and a 6-month-old, Krimmel said.



The teen's parents, Daniel and Savilla Stoltzfus, of Quarryville, Lancaster County, also were arrested after they told police they had "gifted" their daughter to Kaplan four years ago.
The girl was 14 at the time, and Daniel Stoltzfus gave her to Kaplan as thanks "for helping his family out of financial ruin," according to the criminal complaints.
The couple said they were the parents of all of the children except the two youngest, who were their grandchildren, said Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler.
Heckler said they were still investigating how the other nine children came to be living with Kaplan, and whether any of them may have been abused.
"We've got a ways to go to figure out what's really going on here," Heckler said.
Heckler described the Stoltzfuses as "straightforward." They told police they were going to lose their farm until Kaplan "comes along and gives them money somehow," possibly employing Daniel Stoltzfus in a scrap business.
Once their farm was saved, Daniel Stoltzfus, now 43, did some Internet research and concluded that it was legal to give their daughter to Kaplan, Heckler said.
Savilla Stoltzfus, 42, was at Kaplan's house when the child-welfare check was made, Heckler said.
The Stoltzfuses "think he's a wonderful man," Heckler said. Some of the also girls said good things about Kaplan, Heckler said, describing them as "brainwashed" by Kaplan.
Kaplan and the 18-year-old were not married, but Heckler said they acted as husband and wife.
The girls apparently did not attend school and it was unclear if they had ever been to a doctor, Heckler said. They did not appear to be in bad health and did not show visible signs of trauma, he said.

Police were unable to find birth certificates for any of the children and said they did not have Social Security numbers, he said.
Heckler said all of the children are in protective custody and are together.
Kaplan and the Stoltzfuses are each being held on $1 million bail.
Kaplan was charged with two counts of statutory sexual assault and related offenses. Daniel Stoltzfus was charged with criminal conspiracy and endangering the welfare of children. Savilla Stoltzfus was charged with endangering the welfare of children.
The Stoltzfuses were born into the Amish religion, but renounced it amid a years-long fight with community elders, according to a federal lawsuit they filed in 2009 against their former church. In the complaint, the Stoltzfuses said they had 11 children and had owned their family property on Pumping Station Road in Kirkwood, Lancaster County, since 1997. They operated a metal working business on the property. They suggested that sect leaders, among other things, frowned on them for doing business "with an individual of the Jewish faith named Lee Kaplan," the complaint says.

Jen Betz, a 37-year-old mother of two young children, said she was the neighbor who called a child-welfare hotline about Kaplan.
She called Bucks County Children and Youth on Wednesday because she was concerned about the girls - some 7 or 8, some in their young teens - she saw at his house, which she noticed had boarded windows and high weeds.

After Jihad conquered the Byzantine Empire -- the Christian Roman Empire of North Africa and Anatolia -- another civilization was frozen into silence.
Much of the nominally Muslim world lives a double life. That is a basic strategic fact in the Jihad War. It means that millions of people secretly yearn for better lives.

The Saudis just promised to double the number of mosques in Europe, with the obvious goal of controlling millions of Muslim “refugees” wherever they may end up living. But now Russia is the only major nation that is prepared to fight for strategic goals. Fantasy pacifism has gripped Europe, which is why Angela Merkel surrendered to the rape Jihad that is still victimizing women and children in Europe.

Boston, MA Gentleman Pleads Guilty To Human Trafficking in New Jersey

A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty to human trafficking charges in New Jersey.
Camden County prosecutors say Javann Hall faces a seven-year state prison term when he's sentenced April 1. The 30-year-old Dorchester man pleaded guilty on Monday.
Hall was arrested during an undercover prostitution investigation at a Cherry Hill hotel in January 2015.
Authorities say Hall dropped off a Boston woman who had been advertised online. The woman was arrested after she solicited an undercover detective and was taken into custody without incident.
Further investigation revealed that Hall was using threats of violence to force the woman to engage in prostitution activity several times a day.

Unvetted Immigration Allows Human Trafficking Of Unaccompanied Children

The government agency responsible for settling the children with sponsors and groups failed to adequately vet them. The result is that an unknown number of illegal alien children were placed with human traffickers.

The Obama administration failed to protect thousands of Central American children who have flooded across the U.S. border since 2011, leaving them vulnerable to traffickers and to abuses at the hands of government-approved caretakers, a Senate investigation has found.
The Office of Refugee Resettlement, an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, failed to do proper background checks of adults who claimed the children, allowed sponsors to take custody of multiple unrelated children, and regularly placed children in homes without visiting the locations, according to a 56-page investigative report released Thursday.

several Guatemalan teens were found in a dilapidated trailer park near Marion, Ohio, where they were being held captive by traffickers and forced to work at a local egg farm. The boys were among more than 125,000 unaccompanied minors who have surged into the United States since 2011, fleeing violence and unrest in

The report concluded that administration “policies and procedures were inadequate to protect the children in the agency’s care.”

It detailed nearly 30 cases where unaccompanied children had been trafficked after federal officials released them to sponsors or where there were “serious trafficking indicators.”
“HHS places children with individuals about whom it knows relatively little and without verifying the limited information provided by sponsors about their alleged relationship with the child,” the report said.
It goes without saying that no one will be fired because of this report. Apparently, deliberately handing kids over to people the government knows nothing about who then turn out to be human traffickers is just business as usual for the Obama administration.
Meanwhile, children are suffering unspeakable degradation. How many children are similarly trapped is unknown. But given the slap-dash efforts to vet sponsors to make sure they are who they say they are, it's possible that thousands of kids are being sold into virtual slavery.
The administration was so intent on moving the kids out of detention centers, that it became the overriding goal rather than finding decent homes of the children. But it also raises questions about the vetting of refugees coming from the Middle East. If the government can't keep kids out of the hands of human traffickers, how are they going to keep terrorists out of the country?

A new music video is telling the story of a woman who became a victim of sex trafficking in order to bring awareness to not just the emotional scars, but the physical ones that are left on women who have been sold into sexual slavery.
Jennifer Kempton, from Columbus, Ohio, was sold to a dope gang as a young woman for drugs and money by a man she believed was the love of her life. She was branded with a tattoo, used and abused, but now, as a free woman, her story is serving as inspiration for others as the subject of a heart-wrenching video by British Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Scott McFarnon.
The video for his latest release Crazy Heart, directed by Floyd Russ, begins with a shocking statistic: 'Every 30 seconds another person becomes a victim of human trafficking'.

Based on Jennifer's true story, which actors recreate for the video, the beginning of the four-minute clip shows a woman in an abusive relationship, being beat down in the street by her lover and frequently getting high on drugs.
On her neck, she has a tattoo bearing the words: 'Property of Jarred'.
Next, the boyfriend takes 'Jennifer' to a house where they meet two men, one of whom hands him a wad of bills as the woman looks on, confused.
As the lover moves to leave, the woman follows, but is instead snatched up by the man who, it seems, has just bought her.

She is drugged and thrown down onto a thin foam pad before receiving yet another tattoo brand, this time on her stomach.
The following scenes show the young woman selling herself on the street to men in cars, being thrown against a fence by a customer in an alleyway, crying in a darkened room and frantically rubbing drugs into her gums.
For Jennifer, it was six years before she found her freedom and, when she finally forced her way out of the life of brutal violence and abuse that she had been trapped in for so long, one of the first things she did was to walk into a tattoo parlor to have the branding on her neck - the name of the gang who enslaved her, 'King Munch' - changed into flower.

'And after enduring this, being raped and beaten and abused, and after getting clean of my addiction, every time I took a shower or tried to look at my body I was reminded of the violence and exploitation I’d suffered,' she added, saying that the sight of them flung her into depression.

According to 36-year-old Scott, the idea for the video came after a discussion about tattoos and 'the current trends around them'.
'We came across the fact that tattoos can be devastating for people and are frequently used to brand victims of human trafficking and we decided that it was important to bring attention to the amazing work Jennifer is doing in Ohio,' he said.

John Grisham''s newest book (Doubleday 2015) Rogue Lawyer about Sebastian Rudd's cases and  clients. Very exciting read. Along the way he makes observations about the legal system which he uses to justify his stepping over the lines to counter the extra legal activities of the police and prosecutors. He no longer maintains a real office in a building. Instead his office is an armor plated vehicle with a desk. He is accompanied by his body guard Partner. That's his name, Partner. As an investor in a UFC Fighter he defends him when the fighter is prosecuted for homicide. The police chief kidnaps his son. It is a wild ride and his mobile office gets destroyed during the book.



His observation about prosecutors is "Virtually all prosecutors have the same genetic flaw; they cannot admit the obvious once it's on the table. They cling to their theories. They know they are right because they've been convinced of it for months, even years. 'I believe in my case' is one of their favorite lines, and they'll repeat it mindlessly as the real killer walks forward with blood on his hands and says, 'I did it.'"

Quoting the one honest cop in the department, Spurio [honest policeman] says, "These guys are outta control, Rudd [the rogue lawyer]. You gotta stop them."
He responds, "No way, Nate. I can't stop them. Maybe I can embarrass them from time to time, cost the city some money, but what they're doing here is happening everywhere. We live in a police state and everybody supports the cops."

The prosecutor in one case "is not a bad guy and does not want to be where he is now sitting. His problem is simple and obvious--an eager-beaver cop got wounded in a botched raid, and the law, in black and white, says the guy who shot him is guilty. It's a bad law written by clueless people, and now [prosecutor] Finney is compelled to enforce it. He cannot simply drop the charges. The police union is breathing down his neck.

Max Mancini, chief prosecutor is "crafty in the courtroom and boasts of a 99 percent conviction rate, same as every other prosecutor in America. Because he's the boss, he gets to manipulate the numbers, so he has real proof that his 99 percent is legitimate.



Describing the herd mentality, the police have the killer. To relieve the enormous pressure on them, and to begin the process of poisoning public opinion, and to establish the presumption of guilt, they are manipulating the press, as always. A leak here and there and cameras show up to capture the face that everyone has been desperate to see. The "journalists" chase their tails, and [suspect] Arch Swanger is as good as convicted.
Why bother with a trial?

If the cops can't convict with evidence, they use the media to convict with suspicion.
Regarding experts he says, the truth can be expensive, especially when it comes from expert witnesses. Our system is chock-full of "experts" who do little in the way of teaching, researching, or writing. Instead, they roam the country as hired guns testifying for fat fees. Pick an issue, a set of facts, a mysterious cause, and unexplained result, anything really, you can find a truckload of PhDs willing to testify with all sorts of wild theories. They advertise. They solicit. They chase cases. They hang around conventions where lawyers gather to drink and compare notes. They brag about "their verdicts."
Their losses are rarely mentioned.



They are occasionally discredited by nasty cross-examinations, in open court, but they stay in business because they are so often effective. In a criminal trial, an expert has to convince only one juror to hang things up and cause a mistrial. Hang it again on the retrial, and the State will usually throw in the towel.

He's a retired psychiatrist who never liked to teach or listen to patients. Legal insanity has always fascinated him--the crime of passion, the irresistible impulse, the moment when the mind is so filled with emotion and hate that it commands the body to act violently and in a way never contemplated. He prefers to do all the talking. It's his way of convincing me how brilliant he is. I listen to his bull**** as I try to analyze how a jury will react to him. He's likable, intense, smart, and a good conversationalist.
He spends two hours evaluating [the defendant, client], and surprise, surprise, he is now certain the kid blacked out, went crazy, and does not remember pummeling the referee.



On criminals who threaten him, "They are the traffickers, some extremely nasty guys. A gang, a ring, a cartel, a disciplined band of criminals, most with ties to eastern Europe, but some local guys as well. They abuse the girls, keep them terrified and confused and hooked on heroin. Most people in this country don't believe there's sex trafficking in their cities, but it's there. It's everywhere. They, the traffickers, prey on runaways, homeless kids, girls from bad families looking for escape. It's a sick business, [. . .] really sick.

Massachusetts Attorney General Wants To Stop Online Ads For Prostitution, and Exploitation of Women

The U.S. Court Judge protects advertisements on Backpage due to the law that Congress wrote. Why is that law being enforced according to the way it was written? The Supreme Court of The United States interprets laws, rewrites them, and adds to them as desired by the White House. The previous Attorney General enforced laws selectively and ignored inconvenient laws. Who decides which laws will be strictly enforced, which ones can be changed according to desires, and which laws should be ignored altogether like the immigration laws? Why are low level street dealers being hauled into court every day, provided taxpayer attorneys, translators, and accommodations, while corporations, and wealthy and influential celebrities can avoid accountability? The President regularly shows his disdain for law, for Congress and for the Courts. Why should anyone pay attention to what judges or prosecutors say? 

AG Healey says, "That federal law protects websites when a third party produces the offending content. That law — and other constitutional defenses — have kept Backpage out of trouble.
Healey acknowledged the problem, but said the law is outdated." There are several areas where the law is years behind. Technology is one. How many new devices are being used to abuse, to control, to steal from civilians by criminals, while the law has no knowledge or means to protect them? Even when some legislatures wrote laws protecting citizens, the state provides no training and/or no funding for technology to counter the new devices being used. Only when millions are stolen from banks do spineless politicians notice.

An escort was killed in a Burlington hotel, children have vanished, and yet men seeking prostitutes can still set up a rendezvous with minors with a 
couple of clicks.
It all could have been avoided if Backpage had simply removed its “adults section,” according to Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey. The site’s sexual advertisements have gone 
unchecked because federal 
law shields Backpage from 
prosecution.
So Healey is attacking in one of the few places Backpage is vulnerable — the court of public opinion.
“Behind every posting on that site is someone’s mother, sister or daughter. So many of them are dealing with serious addiction issues and they’re being kept there by pimps and traffickers,” Healey told me yesterday. “We need to get after the Johns and the pimps, but we also need companies like Backpage to stop being part of the problem.”
Healey is calling on the classified ad site to follow Craigslist and take down its sex trade ads. Her predecessor, Martha Coakley, played a key role in forcing Craigslist’s hand and also took aim at Backpage in 2011.
But unlike Craigslist, Backpage has continued to fight. The site had laws thrown out in Washington state, Tennessee and New Jersey that would have held it criminally liable for its ads. It also recently won a local federal case involving women who said “they were molested and repeatedly raped after being advertised as sexual wares” on Backpage.
U.S. District Court Judge Richard Sterns dismissed the case in May, citing the Communications Decency Act, and wrote, “Putting aside the moral judgment that one might pass on Backpage’s business practices, this court has no choice but to adhere to the law that Congress has seen fit to enact.”

UK Police Knew For Five Years About Muslim Men Sex Trafficking Young White Girls, Did Nothing

West Midlands Police knew five years ago that Asian grooming gangs were targeting children outside schools across the city - but failed to make the threat public.
Documents obtained by the Birmingham Mail show the force were aware pupils were at risk of child sexual exploitation (CSE) back in 2010.
The confidential report, obtained under a Freedom of Information Act, also shows police were worried about community tensions if the abuse from predominantly Pakistani grooming gangs was made public.
The West Midlands Police document entitled Problem Profile, Operation Protection is from March 2010 and highlights how grooming had been directed specifically at schools and children’s homes.
In one heavily redacted passage, entitled ‘Schools’, it states: “In (redacted) a teacher at a (redacted) that a group of Asian males were approaching pupils at the school gate and grooming them. Strong anecdotal evidence shows this MO (modus operandi) is being used across the force.”

The 2010 report said police had identified a potential 139 victims, 78 per cent of whom were white while more than half were aged 13 to 15. Half of all victims lived within parental homes, while 41 per cent lived in care.
The report said of the 75 grooming suspects identified, a large proportion were from a Pakistani background and a significant proportion were likely to be from a Muslim background.

In an October 2009 police report obtained by the Birmingham Mail, a lack of trust between police and social workers was highlighted and some of their unsympathetic attitudes to vulnerable runaways.

They did nothing and they still do nothing. One of the victims did a comprehensive interview with me here and here. She had over 100 names of rapists and traffickers, but the police “didn’t have time” to take all the names.
When I was being regularly abused by the Muslim men, my school knew about it. They eventually made me transfer to a part-time school because I was out so much. The men would come and take me out of the school, sometimes in the morning just as school was starting. It was high school, so they don’t stop you leaving when the gate is open.
They school never questioned who was taking her out or why. They did nothing. But they did ban Robert Spencer and me from visiting the UK, because our presence would not be “conducive to the public good.” Got that?
“The predominant offender profile of Pakistani Muslim males… combined with the predominant victim profile of white females has the potential to cause significant community tensions.” In other words, don’t say anything about this, because if you do, you’ll be charged with “racism.” The British authorities, all over the country, let the Muslim rape gangs — which were operating according to the Qur’an’s permission of men to take sex slaves (4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50) — operate with impunity. Better societal death than charges of “Islamophobia.” Carve that on Britain’s tombstone.

That’s what it was when I was a sex-trafficked call girl in Las Vegas. The escort agency I worked for expected me to go on as many calls as I could fit in a 12-hour period, from 8 in the evening to 8 the following morning.
I would see between 10-30 different men a night. It didn’t matter how tired I was or how much money I made, I had to be loyal my entire shift for the entire weekend, or face a fine of $1,500. When I finally got home, as soon as I walked in the door, my pimp took 100% of my earnings.
Never mind that the tricks (the men that paid for sex) thought I was enjoying myself. Never mind they thought I was making great money, paying my way through college.
When you live in fear of the next beat-down (I was physically beaten more times than I can count by my pimp and by tricks), this is what you must do to survive. Pretend you are someone else. When I began my time as a prostitute, I chose the name “Fallen” for my fake ID. I was no longer the Annie I knew and recognized; I was “Fallen”—a victim of high-class sex trafficking.

Eritrea Claims Human Rights Activists To Blame For Immigration Crisis

The unspeakably twisted world of a bankrupt Australian businessman is unravelling after he moved to the Philippines and allegedly lured innocent children into his home - and has now been implicated in a child's death.
Peter Gerald Scully, from Melbourne, was charged last year with human trafficking and child porn-related offences arising from his alleged sexual abuse of Filipino girls which was filmed and then posted online for paying clients.
The 51-year-old managed to avoid being arrested until February 20 this year before a former partner told police that Scully had killed one of his child victims in 2013.

This focus by the new Massachusetts Attorney General continues the priorities of the previous AG. The suit Doe vs. Backpage.com is a private lawsuit, brought by the law firm of Harvard University, Ropes and Gray, for three women. Does the law firm need the support of the state government? This is what the Cambridge City Council does best. They ignore local abuses, and focus on national abuses or abuses in other states. The cause is always just and good. Right minded people, voters and taxpayers support what they do. But that is not what they were elected to do and they seldom have jurisdiction over what they speak out on.

In this case the new MA AG supports a lawsuit to help stop human trafficking. Only evil people would oppose that. But like the previous attorneys general in Massachusetts, they fail to see any abuses by local, state or even U.S. officials within the confines of the state. It is what permitted the egregious abuses by James Bulger to effectively take over the Boston field office of the FBI and to corrupt local and state police agencies in Massachusetts. It is also what the current White House does by failing to focus resources on Muslim terrorism.

For more than 20 years I complained to the Attorney General (and others) about police abuses of power targeting me as they broadcast "He's crazy." to everyone who would listen. Under US and state laws the police were and are harassing a person with a legal disability. But none of the previous Attorneys General took any action. The District Attorney explained "You have no evidence." Police investigate crime, to gather evidence. But when the perp is the police (or organized crime, or FBI informants), it is highly unlikely they will gather evidence against themselves, or other police agencies.

During the elaborate snow period of this winter a policeman visited from another area of the nation conducting two weeks of brutal harassment. He employed some Harvard University law school students to inspire me to seek relief from the courts. Hahaha. (Not the first time Harvard law students were used for harassment.) He asked why I was reluctant to go to court. I explained it to him.  He does not believe what I survived. It is similar to the reaction to Louis Zamperini, after he survived three years in a Japanese prison camp being beaten every day because he was a famous Olympic runner before the war. When he returned home after the war neither his father nor his therapist believed what he told them he survived. Now Angelina Jolie made a film from Lauren Hillenbrand's book about him, Unbroken. His torment ended. Mine continues. When the visiting policeman left, he was quickly replaced by two local black racist police employees. One is a homosexual, the other a lesbian. They love to harass, provoke, humiliate, ridicule, insult and slander "old whitey." Local and state law enforcement agencies, the two billion dollar taxpayer funded human services industry, stand by and file amicus briefs. Hahaha.

Iraq has urged the United Nations to investigate Islamic State terrorists' bloody trade in human organs after the Iraqi ambassador said doctors are being executed for not harvesting body parts.
Mohamed Alhakim claimed that dozens of bodies with surgical incisions and missing body parts have been found in shallow mass graves near ISIS stronghold Mosul over the past few weeks.
ISIS' horrifying trade in human organs, which was revealed by MailOnline last December, is just the latest way for the terrorist organisation to finance its activities, with other major sources of the group's $2 million-a-day income being the sale of oil, ransom payments, and smuggled antiques.

He also noted the increasing number of reports and allegations that IS is using organ harvesting as a financing method, but he said only that 'it's very clear that the tactics ISIL is using expand by the day'.

The shocking news of ISIS trade in human organs was first revealed in a report by al-Monitor news website in December, citing an Iraqi ear, nose and throat doctor named Siruwan al-Mosuli.
He told the site that ISIS commanders hired foreign doctors to run an extensive organ trafficking system from a hospital in Mosul that is already beginning to generate huge profits.[. . .]
The al-Monitor report also claims the terror organisation has even set up a specialist organ-smuggling division whose sole responsibility is to sell human hearts, livers and kidneys on the lucrative international black market.

The report went on: 'Surgeries take place within a hospital and organs are quickly transported through networks specialized in trafficking human organs. Mosuli said that the organs come from fallen fighters who were quickly transported to the hospital, injured people who were abandoned or individuals who were kidnapped.'
Most of the organs are then smuggled out of Syria and Iraq into neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia or Turkey where criminal gangs sell them on to shady buyers across the globe, the Assyrian International News Agency reported.
While organ harvesting may be the most shocking of IS' revenue streams, the report highlights a string of others that contribute to the group's $2million annual income. [. . .]
One tactic is smuggling families and individuals into other countries. The report highlights one instance when a family paid ISIS over $8,000 per individual to sneak them into Turkey.
Drug smuggling is another. Al Monitor's report claims that IS traffics Afghan heroin into Europe from the city of Nineveh, which the Russian Federal Drug Control Service (RFDCS) says is generating 'significant revenues.'
Its drug business has become so successful in recent months that the RFDCS claims that IS now supplies half of Europe's entire heroin market.
Yesterday it was revealed that militants fighting for ISIS in Syria are making millions of pounds selling ancient statues and mosaics to wealthy Westerners using a complex system of smugglers and middle men.
Looted from ancient buildings in ISIS strongholds, such as the group's de facto capital city Raqqa, the antiquities are up to 10,000-years-old and can exchange hands for more than $1 million each.

Last August, the BBC reported that “at least 1,400 children were subjected to appalling sexual exploitation in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013, a report has found. Children as young as 11 were raped by multiple perpetrators, abducted, trafficked to other cities in England, beaten and intimidated, it said.” Five months later, not only has little been done to combat this scourge, but it has grown exponentially worse: hundreds of new cases have been discovered, and one of the victims says that those who abused her are “untouchable.”

“It’s still going on if not worse, because now they’re having to hide it more. I’m still seeing my abusers driving young girls in their car. They’re untouchable.” She said of the police that “all they care about is getting a statement. Six months on we’ve had no arrests, we’ve had no charges, evidence is still being lost.”

The rape gangs are made up of Muslims who believe that the Qur’an (4:3; 4:24; 23:1-6; 33:50) and Islamic law allow them to capture non-Muslim girls and press them into sexual slavery, as we have also seen the jihadists of Boko Haram and the Islamic State also do in the past year. And British authorities have feared to confront the problem in its full magnitude because they’re afraid of the stigma of stigmas in the twenty-first century West: being called “racist.”

Alexa Nicole De Armas, 17, was arrested Friday and charged with human trafficking of a person younger than 18, a felony.
At least one act of prostitution took place, police said, leading to the arrest of John Michael Mosher, 21, who reportedly paid $40 and a bottle of liquor to have sex with a 15-year-old girl.
A third person will be arrested Tuesday, Venice Police Capt. Tom Mattmuller said.
Police said the ring came to light after four students confided to Venice High School administrators. De Armas and at least one other student concocted the business plan over the summer to prostitute other teenagers for payments of money and alcohol, according to police documents.

During a police investigation after a search warrant was issued for De Armas' Facebook account, police said they found conversations between potential business partners, participants and details of how transactions would be made; prices for services included $50 to $70 to perform oral sex and $100 for intercourse with a virgin. They considered a 40 percent profit split for prostitutes.

Among the 168 juveniles recovered was a population that child welfare advocates say especially concerns them: children who were never reported missing in the first place.
Advocates say the roundup reinforces the need for a standardized, nationwide approach to reporting children as missing, especially those absent from state foster care systems who are seen as most vulnerable to abuse.

That means children can disappear without police knowing they’re missing or being directed to look for them.

The law is not — as George Will suggested on “Fox News Sunday” — a general humanitarian mandate allowing all 2 billion poor children of the world to show up at our border and be told, “Welcome to America!” It’s a law to combat sex trafficking.

One of Raven Kaliana’s earliest memories is being taken to a family portrait studio by her parents, at around the age of four. The studio was in the basement of a department store in a town 50 miles from their home. Once there, they waited for another couple to arrive with their child.
‘Would you like to have your picture taken with this cute little boy?’ her mother asked, before the parents left the kids with the photographer and retired to the café upstairs. But while they sat eating ice cream, the images being made in the studio down below were far from happy family portraits. Raven and her companion had just been sold into the child abuse industry.
It was to be the beginning of a 15-year ordeal, which saw Raven regularly trafficked by her parents and other members of an organised crime ring from her home in a middle-class suburb in the American northwest to locations all over the US and abroad. In her teens, the crimes were often perpetrated in Los Angeles, where many film studios provided ample opportunity for the underground child abuse industry in the 1970s and 80s.

Her adult life has been driven by the belief that it is important for survivors of child sexual exploitation to tell their stories, in order to make people realise that these aren’t crimes that happen ‘to someone else’.

‘You hear about a perpetrator being processed in a certain way, you hear about the police getting hold of the images, but you don’t hear about the reality for the children in those images. How did they come to be in this situation? And how have they been damaged by what happened?’

As a child, dissociation is a survival advantage, but in adulthood it can become a disability.’
