Obama's Delay Authorizing Rescue of James Foley May Have Caused His Death

[From article]
One thing we know by now is that President Obama is loath to make tough choices, and often dithers. He is the opposite of a true leader.

Control Freaks Run Government, Take Lessons From Psychiatrists

Here is unsolicited testimony from award winning syndicated writer, author, and corruption fighter Michelle Malkin. For several years I explain to anyone who asks that a range of organizations including but not limited to police, FBI informants, and associates of crime families harass me with the objective of controlling me. They are assisted by psychologists and psychiatrists, professional control freaks. They try to have me arrested using women as bait and other nefarious means. They provoke me disturbing my sleep every one or two hours, and cause my computer to crash every one or two minutes. They insult, ridicule, and humiliate me. The end is to control my life, after 44 years of relentless character assassination and harassment. Not much left for them to control. Lacking common sense does not deter them from their continuing criminal harassment.

Texas Gov. Perry Indicted; Retaliation From Drunk Driving Arrest of Democratic Prosecutor

Texas Gov. Rick Perry

The only different part of this abuse of power is that it is a sitting Governor indicted. How many ordinary citizens have been arrested and convicted for political expression of protected speech by similar criminal officials? I know at least one personally.

[From article]
Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz calls himself a "liberal Democrat who would never vote for Rick Perry," but he's still "outraged" over the Texas governor's indictment Friday on charges of abuse of power and coercion.
The charges are politically motivated and an example of a "dangerous" trend of courts being used to affect the ballot box and politics, he told Newsmax on Saturday.
"Everybody, liberal or conservative, should stand against this indictment," Dershowitz said. "If you don't like how Rick Perry uses his office, don't vote for him."

Nigerian Terror Deaths Higher

[From article]
The Nigerian military abandoned their weapons and fled Gwoza as Boko Haram attacked Wednesday (Aug. 6), burning government buildings, killing residents and taking hostages. Some residents managed to flee to the mountains bordering Cameroon and are without food or water; others made it 85 miles north to Maiduguri, Associated French Press (AFP) and others reported.
News surfaced just today (Aug. 15) of a separate Aug. 10 attack on the remote village of Doron Baga in northeastern Nigeria, where Boko Haram kidnapped dozens of boys and men, leaving women, girls and young children abandoned there.

Obama Passes On Funeral of Lt. Gen. Greene

Family of US Army Major General Harold Greene

[From article]
Many Americans were disappointed in the lack of White House presence at this week’s funeral for the highest-ranking officer killed in combat since Vietnam.
[. . .]
It was a beautiful service that was only missing one important attendee:
The President of the United States.
Also missing were the vice president and the secretary of defense.
Photos of the service, posted on the Internet from news services all over the globe, showed a riderless horse, the general’s children touching the casket and the flag presented to his widow by Army Chief of Staff General Ray Odierno.

Slavery Made me Do It

[From article]
The saga of University of California, Santa Barbara feminist studies professor Mireille Miller-Young has taken yet another bizarro twist after her defenders urged a judge to excuse the criminal allegations against her because of the “cultural legacy of slavery.”
Miller-Young pleaded no contest last month to misdemeanor counts of battery, theft and vandalism after she rallied up a small gaggle of female vigilantes and attacked abortion protesters Thrin Short, 16, and Joan Short, 21. The radical feminist armada forcibly stole a graphic anti-abortion sign from the two protesters. Miller-Young scratched and appeared to push the 16-year-old girl, then destroyed the sign.

Anti Semitic Vandalism in Massachusetts

[From article]
Bishop has been the organist at First Baptist for 15 years. He said he went to the church late Saturday night to practice when he heard two people talking upstairs.
“I heard one of the voices say to the other, ‘Wow, there's a lot of good stuff here,'” he described. “And I'm thinking, well, that doesn't sound too good.”
Bishop said he saw the two suspects run out a back door, but they left behind some damage.
The suspects allegedly vandalized the walls drawing swastikas, a pentagram and other symbols in gold spray paint.
“It was a little scary for a minute,” Bishop said.
Police said the suspects are male teenagers. One was wearing a blue shirt, and the other was wearing a red shirt. They both have curly hair, according to police.
The vandalism is not being investigated as a hate crime, police said. The church's Pastor Donald Gray doesn't believe the church was targeted.
“I think it was a crime of opportunity,” he said. “I think they got in here and decided ‘Let's do something,' and it's kind of sad.

Dog Virus In Massachusetts

[From article]
A highly contagious viral disease has killed at least 15 dogs in Lowell.
Lowell Animal Control Officer Darlene Wood told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 there have been 15 confirmed cases of the canine parvovirus in the past two weeks.
In each case the dog has died.
“We’re asking dog owners to check and see if their dogs have updated vaccinations or have been vaccinated for the parvovirus, and if they have not, to certainly go to a veterinarian and get that done,” Wood said Tuesday.
She told WBZ there have also been cases of the virus in the Berkshires, Worcester County and on the North Shore.

Harvard University Campus Police Demand Exclusive Jurisdiction Contrary To Law

Report sounds like it was written by Harvard University campus police. Cambridge Police Department has jurisdiction in the entire city including on Harvard University property. HUPD jurisdiction ends at their property line. HUPD and Harvard University administrators promote the fantasy that Harvard University campus police have exclusive jurisdiction on their property. One more example of deception by this prominent university.

[From article]
The victim told police he was robbed by two men at gunpoint as he walked on Church Street at 2:50 a.m., according to Cambridge Police.
The victim told police he had just met with one of the men when one of them tossed him against a wall. The other man, police said, held what the victim believed was a gun against his head and took his wallet and other personal items.
The two suspects flew down Brattle Street toward Fresh Pond.
The victim was not injured.
Since the incident did not occur on university property, Cambridge Police are investigating the robbery.

"Catalano wrote that the Cambridge Police are handling the matter because it did not occur on University property." Is Harvard University campus police continuing to promote the fantasy that HUPD has exclusive jurisdiction on Harvard property? Their jurisdiction, which does not include City ordinances, ends at the property line. Cambridge police and MA state police have jursdiction on and off Harvard University property.

Ice Bucket Water Wasting Campaign, In The Name of Good

One more indication of the dumbed down population in the United States. It helps explain how voters could elect twice Barack Obama. And what about other countries where people walk miles each day for fresh water?

[From article]
Of course, they've got a point: The campaign, according to The Washington Post, has used an estimated 5 million gallons of water so far. (Jason Ruiz for the Long Beach Post says it's used about 6 million gallons and The Grist... doesn't reach an estimate.) The ubiquity of the videos has even led to satirical posts about California fining those participating in the challenge.
"Fresh water is one of our nation's most precious resources," Jim Gulliford, executive director of the Soil and Water Conservation Society, told The Wire in an email interview. "It is a resource that should never be undervalued or wasted. This becomes even more important when areas of our country are suffering from drought."

NY Man Awarded $10 Million for Wrongful Conviction, 16 Years in Prison

Jabbar Collins leaves Brooklyn federal court with his lawyers July 29.

[From article]
“I think the case exposed that the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office under Charles Hynes was a cesspool, and I’m glad that Hynes is no longer in office and that Jabbar Collins has achieved justice,” said Collins’ lawyer, Joel Rudin.
Top city lawyer Zachary Carter made the settlement offer Monday, and Collins decided to accept, Rudin said.
The case exposed controversial allegations about the DA’s office, including that prosecutors kept witnesses in hotel rooms until they agreed to give false testimony, the suit claimed.
One witness also said former Brooklyn prosecutor Michael Vecchione threatened to pummel him with a coffee table if he refused to take the stand against Collins at the original trial.

Obama Reveals His True Colors

[From article]
When I first glanced at the headline on today's Jerusalem Online and reports in the Jerusalem Post and other Israeli newspapers, I thought they must have been a satire: "Washington officials have told Egypt that the US will guarantee Israel's commitment to any agreement signed." But it was not a satire. This was deadly serious, confirmed by other Israeli newspapers and sources in Cairo.

The rescue ended a nearly 21-hour standoff that began midday Tuesday when police were called to a report of a break-in at a house at 147th Street and Robey Avenue. There was an exchange of gunfire with two suspected robbers, and two officers were wounded, one grazed in the arm, the other hit in the elbow.
The two suspects then took two women and six young children hostage, releasing four boys during the day and keeping the others until a SWAT team stormed the home around 9 a.m.
The officers took down the front door and found the hostages and the two men on the second floor, according to Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart. The suspects fired twice at the officers but then were arrested and the hostages taken to safety.

Black DC Official Promotes Racist Voting

Eleanor Holmes Norton, Doesn't Like White People

[From article]
“Here you have the mostly white police force in a mostly black community. But I'm perplexed about why most of the elected officials are white as well. Is there something about the way elections are done in Missouri or in the county? That's troublesome,” Washington, D.C.’s non-voting delegate to the House of Representatives, told host Jose Diaz Balart.
“Usually when you get a minority community or a community that becomes mostly minority, you get some diversity of representation,” Holmes Norton So you may have an elected leadership, as well as a police force, that does not feel that they are truly representative of the community and that's poison,” she added.
According to Holmes Norton, the black community needs to get involved and make sure they elect people who represent them.
“Hey, black community! You see what happens when you don't have your own elected officials out there, people who have had experiences similar to your own. I don't understand that. Again, there may be something about the way the elections are conducted in that county. But if I were in that community, the first thing I would be doing is organize voters to go to the polls in November.”

News Photographer Attacked By Ferguson Protesters

[From article]
“He’s taking pictures,” a group yelled toward Carson as he was capturing the scene near a QuikTrip convenience store. “Get him. Kick his ass,” the group said, according to the Post-Dispatch.
Though he turned to run toward police, who were gathered a quarter-mile away, Carson’s military-grade war gear, his helmet, cameras and other photography equipment slowed him down.
He had picked up the equipment from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s “war closet,” he told Poynter. The contents of the closet have only been used for dispatches to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, where Carson worked two month-long stints, in Iraq in 2004 and Afghanistan in 2006.
The group chasing Carson caught up to him about 150 yards from a line of police officers. He was hit in the side of the head and fell, breaking one of his cameras.
