Woman Bartender Arrested For DUI After Killing 70-year-old Pedestrian in Worcester, MA

Suspect Rebecca Brooks, 37

[From article]
A 70-year-old man was struck by a sport utility vehicle and killed Wednesday night as he tried to walk across Shrewsbury Street, police said, and the driver, a Whitinsville woman, was charged with drunken driving and motor vehicle homicide.
A witness who said he was a passenger in a black Jeep that stopped just down from Seward and Shrewsbury streets said he ran to the victim and checked for a pulse. Initially he found one, but then it faded, he said.
Police said the pedestrian, age 70, was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Police were withholding his name until family could be properly notified.
Police identified the driver as Rebecca Brooks, 37, of 24 Laura Lane, Whitinsville. She was arrested and charged with motor vehicle homicide, driving under the influence of alcohol and negligent driving.

Texas Wild Child, 16, Kills Four Driving Drunk; No Jail Time

Killed: Hollie Boyles, 52, and her daughter, Shelby Boyles, 21, were helping out the driver of a broken down SUV when they were struck and killed by Couch's out-of-control pickup.

[From article]
The mother of 'affluenza' teenager Ethan Couch - who killed four in a DUI crash but was let off with probation - said she could not remember the last time she punished him, deposition tapes revealed.
Couch, who was 16 at the time of the crash in 2013, had seven friends in his father's pick-up truck when he plowed into a vehicle on the side of the road.
Despite four people being killed and several others injured by Couch, who was three times over the blood alcohol limit, he was not jailed and was instead given 10 years' probation after his legal team argued his millionaire parents coddled him into irresponsibility, using the term 'affluenza'.
[. . .]
Recordings of his parents' out-of-court testimony, obtained by ABC News, have now revealed that his mother Tonya Couch could not remember the last time she disciplined her son - who never apologized to the victims.
She and Fred Couch did not testify before court so this is the first time the public has heard them speak under oath.
When asked how she punished her son when he did wrong, she said: 'Sometimes ... take little things away from him or we would just discuss the problems.'
But when she tried to recall the last time she disciplined Couch, she said: 'I don't remember.'
[. . .]
'I've taken Valium, Hydrocodone, marijuana, cocaine, Xanax and I think I tried ecstasy once, pretty sure that was it,' he said.
The tapes are from a civil suit brought against Couch, his parents and their sheet metal company Cleburne Sheet Metal - where Couch now works - in 2013.
The fatal DUI crash killed Hollie Boyles, 52, her daughter,Shelby Boyles, 21, pastor Brian Jennings, 41, and Breanna Mitchell.
The Boyles and Mr Jennings were helping Ms Mitchell after her car broke down at the time of the tragedy.

Victim: Breanna Mitchell killed in the horrific crash in 2013.

Couch pleaded guilty to four counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault, but was not given a jail sentence.
He has never apologized to his victims. The families of those who died have received undisclosed payouts from Couch's parents, as has the family of a man left severely disabled following the crash.
After Couch's sentencing, Eric Boyles, whose wife and daughter were killed, spoke of his fury at the leniency of the judge.

Victim: Brian Jennings, 41, killed in the horrific crash in 2013.

Boy, 16, was let off with 10 years' probation despite 70mph horror smash
Legal team argued he did not understand responsibility because of his wealthy upbringing - calling it 'affluenza'
Deposition tapes from a civil case reveal his mother could not remember the last time she punished him
Tonya Couch did not tell Ethan's father their son was drunk when police caught him urinating in public just months before the fatal crash

Secret Service Agent Being Investigated For Drinking On Duty Retires

Marc Connolly

[From article]
The decision by Marc Connolly comes ahead of the public release of a report concluding that he and a colleague were likely impaired by alcohol on the night of March 4 as they drove into a temporary barricade and into an active crime scene, according to government officials briefed on the matter.
The findings of the report, scheduled to be released Thursday, prompted Secret Service Director Joseph P. Clancy to place both men on administrative leave pending further punishments, the officials said.
[. . .]
Secret Service officers on duty at the White House that night told investigators they believed one or both men were under the influence based on their odd behavior, the report will say. Some officers reported that the agents smelled of alcohol.
[. . .]
The investigation also found that numerous high-ranking Secret Service supervisors chose not to report the incident, and that it was omitted from a daily report of significant events at the compound provided to Clancy.
The officials’ silence left Clancy, the newly named Secret Service director, in the dark for five days while rumors of the incident spread among current and former Secret Service employees.

Secret Service Agents in Drunk Driving Incident at White House

And this is after the previous director was fired for negligent discipline of agents.

[From article]
The Obama administration is investigating an alleged drunk-driving incident in which two Secret Service officers drove a government vehicle into a White House barricade, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
One of the officers involved in the alleged incident is a high-ranking member of President Obama’s security detail, according to the Post.
A spokesman for the Secret Service said the agency is "aware of the allegations of misconduct involving two of our employees at the White House Complex." [. . .]
The agents under investigation are the second-ranking member of Obama’s detail, Mark Connolly, and George Ogilvie, a supervisor in the Washington field office. Both declined to comment to thePost.
The alleged incident occurred after both men were drinking at a party for outgoing Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan.

Angry Alabama Husband Drives Car Into House, Pedestrian Neighbors, Too

Daniel Alan Hickey (Contributed by the Morgan County Sheriff's Office)

Guess who's wife was not keeping her husband happy?

[From article]
Those investigators reported that Hickey, who they also determined was drunk, went on a rampage after getting angry at his spouse. They said he started by damaging furniture in the home. They determined he then got in the vehicle and deliberately ran into other vehicles outside and another mobile home.
Franklin said when the homeowner confronted him about this, Hickey intentionally drove into him. She said when the victim's wife tried to help him up, Hickey ran into her too. Investigators said another woman was injured when Hickey hit a nearby porch next.

Kentucky State Senator Exercises Elected Official Privilege After Bust For Drunk Driving

Kentucky State Sen. Brandon Smith (R)

[From article]
A Kentucky state senator is having no reservations about proclaiming his political privilege. In fact, he’s simply citing a section of the Kentucky constitution that claims politicians are in fact, above the law.
Sen. Brandon Smith (R) was charged with driving under the influence and wants the case dismissed citing that lawmakers are “privileged from arrest.”
His attempt to circumvent the hand of justice have thus far proven to be successful too. On Wednesday a judge delayed Smith’s arraignment after his attorney filed this request.
“(Smith) has raised a serious constitutional issue regarding his immunity in this case,” attorney Bill Johnson wrote.
[. . .]
The State Journal reports that according to the citation, Smith was stopped on Village Drive after he was seen driving 65 mph in a 45 mph zone on Leestown Road, near the intersection of Copperleaf Boulevard. The trooper described several failed field sobriety tests and said Smith blew a .088 on a preliminary breath test.
Once in the custody of police at the Franklin County Regional Jail, he refused an official breathalyzer. Under state law, refusing a breathalyzer is an automatic suspension of one’s license.
[. . .]
According to the Kentucky law, the senator could have also been caught breaking the following misdemeanor laws of pimping out prostitutes, possessed meth, stolen prescription drugs, used stolen credit cards, and received stolen goods and he would simply have to claim political immunity, and the charges are then rendered invalid. Seems legit.

Eight Page Driving Record, 11 Suspensions Did Not Stop This Prophet From Driving

HELD: John M. Kellum Jr., who faces several charges in connection with a high-speed chase Sunday, appears in Malden District Court yesterday.
Photo: Herald Pool

Here's another persistent public spirited gentleman who could not stop taking time from his busy schedule to show the world how to drive when drunk. No one was watching this intense citizen. No police, no crime families, no Communists, no FBI informants, and no Harvard University campus police or building superintendents. But in nearby Cambridge, MA where academic geniuses rule, and make public safety priorities, all of the above groups took turns keeping a 70-year-old white man, under 24/7 surveillance, and harassment for decades. They added relentless character assassination, threats, insults, provocations, humiliation and ridicule. They stirred up animosity from black racists, man-hating lesbians and feminists and assorted sadists to attack this vulnerable man. Why bother with a dangerous man who enjoys thrill rides when high on alcoholic beverages? He might drive into you as this one did to police officers. Much safer to attack a harmless vulnerable elder, and demonize him without fear of being held accountable for abuses of power. Did the current leadership of Harvard University and Cambridge, MA take their priorities from the White House or was it the other way around?

[From article]
His lengthy Registry of Motor Vehicles record dating back 24 years includes:
Four drunken driving convictions.
11 license revocations.
10 license suspensions.
Six surchargeable accidents.
Two charges each of refusing a chemical test, illegal operation, speeding and refusing to obey police.

IN HOT WATER: John Kellum faces his fifth drunken driving charge after he allegedly smashed parked cars and a police cruiser before driving into the Malden River, above.

[From article]
A four-time convicted drunken driver said to be “bent on destruction” as he went on a demolition derby — smashing parked cars, a police cruiser and playing chicken with cops before plunging a pickup truck into the frigid Malden River and paddling away from rescuers — is due in court this morning to face arraignment and a potential lifetime driving ban.
John Kellum, 42, whose license is revoked, faces his fifth drunken driving charge and a host of others for a wee-hours escapade yesterday, which began on his street in Melrose. What followed was nearly 5 miles worth of close calls as his busted tires shot sparks, police said.
“He was bent on destruction, I think he has no respect for his fellow man,” Melrose Police Chief
Michael L. Lyle said. “If everything goes right, I would think there will be five convictions. Maybe there will be a lifetime ban for him. I would hope the court does the right thing here.”
[. . .]
“He has a disease,” his wife, Jennifer Kellum, told the Herald. “He’s not a mean, malicious person ... if he was straight he wouldn’t have done this.”
The situation began when police received a neighbor call about 1:30 a.m. of an intoxicated male on Spear Street, where Kellum lives. Kellum allegedly crashed the truck into two parked vehicles on the street and then rammed a responding Melrose cruiser before taking off. Officers — waiting for the truck to break down — trailed him to Malden, where Lyle said Kellum took aim at a second Melrose cruiser whose operator swerved to avoid a collision and struck a curb, blowing a tire.

NJ Mayor Arrested For Drunk Driving

Lambertville Mayor David DelVecchio is arrested on DWI charge

[From article]
Lambertville Mayor David DelVecchio told police he drank five beers at a strip club and then failed four field sobriety tests on the night he was arrested in Burlington County on a drunken driving charge, which was dismissed last week in municipal court.
A police dashboard camera video of the Nov. 9 arrest obtained by The Times of Trenton through an Open Public Records Act request shows DelVecchio struggling to complete the Mansfield police officer's instructions during nearly 10 minutes of field sobriety tests.
The camera recorded DelVecchio telling the officer he had five Redd's Apple Ales at the Playhouse Lounge, a BYOB strip club in Burlington City, after arriving at the establishment at 7:30 p.m. The traffic stop occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Route 130 north, according to a police report from the arrest.

NYC Drunk Driver, Suspended Immigration Lawyer, Injures Seven

Stella Mednik
Photo: Facebook

[From article]
The alleged drunk driver who plowed through Herald Square Wednesday night in someone else’s car and sent seven people to the hospital is an ex-immigration lawyer whose license was suspended for professional misconduct, according to court documents.
Stella Mednik, 34, of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, has been hit with a slew of charges including drunk driving, criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of serious injury, leaving the accident scene and refusal to take a breath test, sources said.
[. . .]
But in 2011, a state Supreme Court judge ordered to suspend Mednik’s law license because she mixed her practice and personal funds in the same account and bounced business-related checks, according to court documents.
The judge was unmoved when Mednik tried blaming her business follies on her meds.
“The respondent testified that during the relevant time period, she was emotionally distraught and unstable due to various mental health issues and the medications prescribed to treat her condition,” says the court record.
[. . .]
Seven people were taken to Bellevue Hospital — five pedestrians including a 14-year-old girl, as well as the driver and her male passenger.

Texas Gov. Perry Indicted; Retaliation From Drunk Driving Arrest of Democratic Prosecutor

Texas Gov. Rick Perry

The only different part of this abuse of power is that it is a sitting Governor indicted. How many ordinary citizens have been arrested and convicted for political expression of protected speech by similar criminal officials? I know at least one personally.

[From article]
Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz calls himself a "liberal Democrat who would never vote for Rick Perry," but he's still "outraged" over the Texas governor's indictment Friday on charges of abuse of power and coercion.
The charges are politically motivated and an example of a "dangerous" trend of courts being used to affect the ballot box and politics, he told Newsmax on Saturday.
"Everybody, liberal or conservative, should stand against this indictment," Dershowitz said. "If you don't like how Rick Perry uses his office, don't vote for him."

Letter from Mother of Policeman Killed By Illegal Alien Drunk Driver

ABC15.com
Mary Ann Mendoza

[Excerpt from Letter]
As a tax paying, law abiding citizen of the United States, I WANT my voice heard on this issue. My son, Sergeant Brandon Mendoza, an officer who was with the City of Mesa, Arizona police department, was killed in a tragic head on collision on May 12, 2014 by a wrong way driver on our freeways. This man happened to be an illegal immigrant, was in this country illegally, convicted of previous crimes, no Social Security number, no valid driver's license BUT he had purchased a vehicle and registered it to drive in Maricopa County Arizona.
I had my son's life STOLEN from me by a man who didn't value his life, was 3X the legal limit drunk, was high on Meth, drove for over 35 miles THE WRONG WAY on 4 different freeways and had NO BUSINESS BEING IN THIS COUNTRY!!!
The Federal Government knew he, Raul Silva Corona , was an illegal immigrant when he was convicted on crimes in 1994 in Colorado. The prosecutors were "lenient" on him and several charges were dismissed. When he was convicted of these crimes and 1994 and the government knew he was in the country illegally, why wasn't he deported? Why are any of these illegal criminals in this country ??

The Somerset County Sheriff's Office says the police chief of Fruitland was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Deputies say Chief Michael Phillips was arrested after a traffic stop about 10:25 p.m. Sunday in Princess Anne. Authorities say Phillips was charged with DUI, DWI and following too closely.
Phillips' lawyer, John Phoebus, said in a statement Monday that Phillips was driving his personal car, was off duty, unarmed and not in uniform when he was arrested.
[. . .]
Phillips has been chief of the Fruitland Police Department since 2008. He previously had been a Maryland State trooper for 22 years.

Population Passive As Western Civilization Declines

[From article]
A judge warns her about her own murdering to come? Might he have warned all of us about being her murdered victims to come? He is warning her of consequences, but not us of our shared danger of having her on the streets? Can we not have an Amber Alert when serial drunk drivers are cut loose?
Some of you are wondering how someone, who in the last eight years has been convicted of two DUIs, can still be on the road. Brace yourself. The truth gets worse in our current lawless society that has become a veritable Road Warrior apocalyptic nightmare.
[. . .]
So she was arrested on suspicion of her third DUI, and was let go after being arrested noticeably drunk and traveling 120 mph? Whoever dropped the case should be summarily put on leave, given that he or she is directly responsible for the subsequent death of Mr. Winslow — after Ms. Vazquez had been convicted of prior DUIs, warned by a judge, and then not charged after hitting 120 mph.
[. . .]
So here is her defense against the charge of vehicular murder:
She had a job once. Apparently, being employed is now not normally expected, but so aberrant to the degree that it counts as a plus in our current culture where millions have ceased working.
Then we hear that she is an alcoholic. But what does “is an alcoholic” mean versus “drinks whenever she wishes and gets into a car”?
[. . .]
The prosecutor and/or judge in that latter case also should be held accountable, given that he let back onto the street a known DUI offender with two priors and a pending third.
Let us return to the extenuating circumstances: in addition to Ms. Vazquez’s addiction, you must understand that she was (a) molested and (b) suffered from a “feeling” of being unloved and (c) had a stepfather. Note that she and her attorney so far adduced no proof for any of these mea culpas, and her attorney seems to assume that millions of others likewise could claim in extremis that they were unloved and/or had stepfathers and thus have extenuating circumstances when they kill and maim others. It is now the sort of stock defense that at some point must have worked to be so frequently emulated.
[. . .]
I accept that lawyers lie, fantasize, and deceive to help their clients; but DeOcampo’s arguments are insulting to any thinking person. Consider his perverse logic:
[. . .]
Let me translate the journalese: Ms. Vazquez, without a valid driver’s license, drinks herself into a stupor, then, for the fourth time that law enforcement knows of, gets into a car drunk and drives (but not “reckless” (sic), because she avoids head-ons), then hits Mr. Winslow on his way home, sends him down an embankment to die, and flees the scene of an accident — and we are lectured about her unloving stepfather and an addiction.
[. . .]
We live in a deeply diseased society in which we care little about the victim and a great deal about the perpetrators.
[. . .]
the Obama administration that vies for their political allegiance, or lots of killers and criminals who will enter the U.S. while the Border Patrol is distracted and busy as a social welfare agency.

Mass State Police Officer Suspended on Suspicion of Drunk Driving

[From article]
At the scene of the crash, a North Andover detective observed “a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from Jenkins as he was speaking,” the report said. Jenkins told police at the scene he was driving and was a state trooper, but he would not disclose who the male passenger in Chevrolet Corvette was. Jenkins also wouldn’t disclose to cops at the scene where he was traveling to or from.
A detective on scene also found a gun in Jenkins’ waistband, a loaded Smith and Wesson 357 with five rounds in the chamber, police said.
[. . .]
Jenkins was suspended without pay indefinitely at a duty status hearing yesterday, state police spokesman Dave Procopio said today.

Proposal to Lower Drinking Age To Reduce Harms to Teens

[From article]
Congress was stampeded into this puritanical law by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), who with all good intentions were wrongly intruding into an area of personal choice exactly as did the hymn-singing 19th-century Temperance crusaders, typified by Carrie Nation smashing beer barrels with her hatchet. Temperance fanaticism eventually triumphed and gave us 14 years of Prohibition. That in turn spawned the crime syndicates for booze smuggling, laying the groundwork for today’s global drug trade. Thanks a lot, Carrie!

deadening pills, such as today’s massively overprescribed anti-depressants, linger in body and brain and may have unrecognized long-term side effects. Those toxic chemicals, often manufactured by shadowy firms abroad, have been worrisomely present in a recent uptick of unexplained suicides and massacres. NJ Man, With Lengthy Record of Offenses, Convicted of Vehicular Homicide

Antonio Vargas, 24, in white shirt at right, is found guilty on vehicular homicide and other charges in a fatal 2011 crash into a Somers Point neighborhood bar, in court in Mays Landing, NJ, Tuesday June 18, 2013. (AP Photo/The Press of Atlantic City, Lynda Cohen)

[From article]
Vargas had six suspensions of his driver's license before the age of 21 and had been drinking before the accident.
[. . .]
Prior to sentencing, Superior Court Judge Max A. Baker, said that in the four years Vargas had been driving prior to the crash, he had been directly or indirectly ordered not to drive on 24 occasions.

Here's one more gentleman taking time from his busy schedule volunteering to test his reaction time while driving after enjoying adult beverages. He courageously defied state courts and bureaucracies to continue his contributions to science after he was banned from driving. He exhibited determination to serve mankind. No one was watching this dedicated servant. No police, no crime family, no Communists. No Harvard University campus cops. But in libertarian Cambridge MA, the city of tolerance, local police, crime families, Communists from Massachusetts and Georgia, Harvard University building superintendents, graduate students in psychology from Harvard Medical School, Harvard University campus cops, take turns harassing, interfering with computer transmissions, conducting 24/7 surveillance, ridiculing, humiliating, testing, provoking, insulting and disturbing the sleep of a 70-year-old white male who they all say has a disability. This indicates the misguided public safety priorities in Massachusetts, where education dominates the economy, and Harvard University dominates education. Harvard University graduates staff local, federal and state agencies to assist elite Harvard University policy implementation, to enable preying on vulnerable persons.

Cambridge MA Contributes Its Share

Benjamin Shealey, 32, of Providence, RI, is guarded by a police officer after being cuffed following a fatal motor vehicle crash on Route 28 near the Kreme and Kone in Chatham on Saturday, July 13, 2013. [He reportedly lives on Trowbridge Place in Cambridge. Ed]

Adding to the philanthropy of Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, their friends and supporters, Cambridge people keep contributing to the public good. John Martorano, a Cambridge native admitted 20 homicides for James Bulger's FBI-protected crime family. Martorano served 12 years for 20 homicides (about 7 months per homicide). He received $20,000 in taxpayer money from the DEA when he was released from prison to help him restart his life. An entertainment corporation gave him $250,000 for the film rights to his story, with another $250,000 promised if the film is made. Martorano earned $80,000 from his partnership with radio talk show host and Boston Herald columnist, Howie Carr, who published a book about Martorano. Add to those chosen few this charming young man who is charged with fleeing from police and killing an elder pedestrian while driving impaired in nearby Chatham.  Four other persons were injured and seven vehicles were damaged. How many more dedicated people will take time from their busy lives to make such enormous contributions to the wealth of the community while Cambridge officials boast of its tolerance and superior morality?
