Harvard Law School Prohibits Hurting Feelings, But It's OK To Curb Free Speech

“Where do we draw the line? [...] I was appalled, quite frankly, that security didn’t do more,” said Harvard Law School Professor Hal S. Scott. It is Harvard University policy not to hurt people's feelings, which trumps the right to free speech. If "security" (campus police) did more they would hurt the feelings of the protesters. Nothing new, just one element of the Therapeutic State, run by psychiatrists, who make up illnesses by consensus, and masquerade as scientists. The university may begin offering to pay protesters not to protest.

Here's more evidence of negligent training of the Harvard University campus police. The US Constitution guarantees to speakers and listeners, First Amendment individual speech rights, under the Massachusetts and US constitutions. Harvard University campus police are sworn to uphold and to defend the constitution and laws of the United States and Massachusetts. Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 265, Section 37 makes it a felony to intimidate a person in the free exercise of a constitutionally guaranteed right. HUPD failed to protect the rights of the speakers and listeners. They are negligent and did not perform their duty. One element of negligent training is campus police, who have jurisdiction on Harvard University property, failure to enforce state laws (but not city ordinances). HUPD allowed protesters to intimidate the speakers and listeners, preventing them from enjoying their constitutionally guaranteed rights. It is the failed duty of the campus police, who failed to protect individual rights on Harvard University property. Are they acting under direction of the faculty and administration? Or are they abusing their power for personal and political purposes? While they failed to enforce laws, the same negligently trained campus police take time from their busy primary mission of fighting crime, to abuse their power harassing, provoking and slandering a 70-year-old man with a legal disability. They exhibit misguided values of the elitist university with a $37 billion endowment.

[From article]
Housing rights advocates interrupted an event featuring Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Melvin Watt at the Law School Monday evening to protest Watt’s housing finance policies, prematurely ending the event and prompting questions about security protocol at the school.
The event, organized by Law School professor Hal S. Scott, was intended to be a “fire-side chat” about federal housing policy. Scott said he heard beforehand that activists might protest, and as a result, Harvard University Police Department assigned two plainclothes officers to the event at the request of Law School administrators.
Several minutes into the event, members of City Life—a Boston-area community organization that advocates for tenant rights—stood up and interrupted Watt’s remarks. City Life community organizer M. Antonio Ennis coordinated the protest with advocacy organizations Lynn United for Change and Springfield No One Leaves, and estimated that around 75 of the 85 event attendees were protesters.
The activists—who are not affiliated with the Law School—presented Watt with several demands primarily focused on principal reduction, a policy that reduces mortgage principals for qualifying homeowners. Ennis said City Life members had helped put Watt in office two years ago after Watt promised to make principal reduction a centerpiece of his agenda. Watt has not yet created such a policy.
“If he couldn’t do it, why can’t he tell us—the people who are losing our houses?” City Life volunteer Ramon Sepulveda said.
Representatives from Watt’s office at the Federal Housing Finance Authority declined to comment.
Ennis said that City Life had attempted to reach the Federal Housing Finance Agency director several times unsuccessfully. When he heard from a Law School student who does clinical work for City Life that Watt would be speaking at the school, Ennis saw an opportunity.
“Our objective in coming here was to show him the faces of people who have lost their homes,” Ennis said. “We’re embarrassed to be losing our homes, so we wanted to embarrass him here on his platform at Harvard.”
After protesters interrupted Watt in a manner Scott characterized as “screaming,” Watt attempted to answer their questions, but was unable to talk over activists. Scott said the HUPD officers did not ask protesters to leave, and seeing no way to continue the discussion, Scott escorted Watt from the event.
“An HLS administrator asked the protesters to stop disrupting the event. The event ended shortly thereafter,” HUPD spokesperson Steven G. Catalano wrote in an email. “As a matter of policy we are not going to get into specifics on what our officers did.”
Scott expressed disappointment that Watt was unable to finish the discussion, and raised concerns over security protocol in place at Harvard. Scott said he thinks security should have removed the protesters.
“I would hope Harvard’s policies are that we don’t allow people to come and disrupt events,” he said. “Where do we draw the line? Can these people come into classrooms, and we do nothing?... I was appalled, quite frankly, that security didn’t do more.”

History Lessons Remain Unlearned

Neville Chamberlain (1869-1940)

[From article]
Immigration is the new “No Nukes/Save the Whales” movement, only with more body bags.
After the mass murder committed by Muslims in San Bernardino, which came on the heels of the mass murder committed by Muslims in Paris, Donald Trump proposed a moratorium on Muslim immigration.
Explaining the idea on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” he talked about how Muslim immigration was infecting Europe: “Look at what happened in Paris, the horrible carnage. … We have places in London and other places that are so radicalized that the police are afraid for their own lives. We have to be very smart and very vigilant.”
Trump’s reference to London’s no-go zones was met with a massive round of sneering, which is what passes for argument in America these days. Jeb! said Trump was “unhinged,” Sen. John McCain called him “foolish,” and former vice president Dick Cheney said Trump’s remarks went “against everything we stand for and believe in.” (Based on Trump’s crushing primary victories, Cheney is no longer qualified to say what “we” believe in.)
[. . .]
UK Daily Mail: ‘TRUMP’S NOT WRONG — WE CAN’T WEAR UNIFORM IN OUR OWN CARS’: Five Police Officers Claim Donald Trump Is Right About Parts of London Being So ‘Radicalised’ They Are No-Go Areas
The Sun: ‘THERE ARE NO-GO AREAS IN LONDON’: Policemen Back Trump’s Controversial Comments
UK Daily Express: ‘TRUMP IS RIGHT!’ Police Say Parts of Britain Are No-Go Areas due to ISIS Radicalisation.
Then, in January of this year, Trump talked specifically about the Muslim invasion of Brussels on the Maria Bartiromo show. “There is something going on, Maria,” he said. “Go to Brussels. … There is something going on and it’s not good, where they want Sharia law … There is something bad going on.”
[. . .]
Indignant Belgians took to Twitter, the Times reported, “deploying an arsenal of insults, irony and humor, including images of Belgium’s beloved beer and chocolate.” Liberals have gone from not understanding jokes to not understanding English. When Trump talked about unassimilated Muslim immigrants demanding Sharia law, I don’t think he was knocking Belgium’s beer and chocolate.
[. . .]
All this would be perfectly normal if we were talking about an earthquake or some other natural disaster — something humans have no capacity to prevent. But Muslims pouring into our countries and committing mass murder isn’t natural at all. It’s the direct result of government policy.
[. . .]
When people are killing in the name of their religion, it’s not an irrelevancy to refuse to keep admitting more practitioners of that religion.
But this is the madness that has seized Europe and America — a psychosis Peter Brimelow calls “Hitler’s revenge.”
Apparently, what we have learned from Hitler is not: Don’t kill Jews. To the contrary, the only people who openly proclaim their desire to kill Jews are … Muslims.
What we’ve learned from Hitler is not: Don’t attempt to seize hegemonic control over entire continents. The only people vowing to conquer the world are … Muslims.
And what we’ve learned from Hitler is not: Beware violent uprisings of angry young men. The only hordes of violent, angry young men are, again … Muslims. (And Trump protesters.)
But instead of learning our lesson and recoiling with horror at this modern iteration of Nazism, we welcome the danger with open arms — because the one and only lesson we’ve learned from Hitler is: DON’T DISCRIMINATE!

National Suicide To Avoid Hurting Feelings of Middle East Migrants

[From article]
Today, Angela Merkel's Germany is making another suicidal gesture by opening the borders to tens of thousands of predatory, war-indoctrinated jihadis – young men of military age, who have been taught to despise, hate, and beat up anybody outside their own Muslim sect. They are indoctrinated in war theology – the last major war theology on Earth. Merkel and the EU have drifted into this suicidal fiasco by mistake – but they still refuse to admit it.
[. . .]
Sweden and Germany (especially Prussia) have a long folk reputation for getting completely stuck in whatever the current absolutist ideology happens to be. This kind of fanatical belief led to centuries of bloody warfare between German-speaking Lutherans and Catholics.
[. . .]
Only the slogans changed.
Today Angela Merkel and the EU preach peace, peace, but they stupidly let in 50 million easily indoctrinated Muslims – so there will be no peace.
[. . .]
After Hitler and the Holocaust, West Germany had a long period of stability, under American defense guarantees, and many West Germans repented of the most disastrous mass regression in European history, the Nazi period. At the same time, East Germany under Soviet control refused to take any responsibility for the Nazi past, including the ex-Nazis themselves. It is difficult for human beings to confess to overwhelming guilt. People who lived under Stalin had their own Holodomor and Siberian concentration camps, and humankind cannot bear much reality.
[. . .]
Rational adult responsibility for Hitler turned into compulsive self-loathing, which was as insane in its own way as all the other absolutist beliefs of the past. Multiculturalism took over as an irrational overcompensation for the sins of the fathers, who were long dead by the time the multicult took hold.
The biblical wisdom is that children cannot be blamed for the sins of the fathers. Public guilt-tripping for the Holocaust was mighty convenient for the hard left, which never repented of 100 million victims of Marxist regimes in the 20th century (still growing in North Korea today).
Freud thought that mental illnesses were irrational exaggerations of normal emotions. Paranoids suffer from intolerable suspicion about hidden forces, but there is such a thing as reasonable suspicion. Severe depression is the extreme of normal sadness, driven by irrational perfectionism. Anxiety disorders involve dysfunctional fears, but sane fear is a very healthy thing when a big truck is bearing down on you. Islamophobia is a fantasy disease manufactured by the Organs of Propaganda, but legitimate fear of jihad is completely sane.
German-Swedish-French perfectionism and self-loathing are national manifestations of the same disorders we see in individuals. If you're haunted by deeply irrational self-loathing, insane fear, or suspicion, the answer is not to swing to the opposite extreme.
[. . .]
Still – Angela Merkel overcompensated to an insane extreme when she opened Europe's borders to the closest thing to the Nazis since Hitler. This is a madness of Europe's political elites.
ISIS is not at all different from the sadistic mass murders committed by the Nazis and by Stalin. War ideologies are pretty much the same; only the uniforms, the hats, and the flags change. What we see on ISIS murder videos is a bunch of adolescent males wearing Halloween outfits while they boast about murdering and abusing children and other innocents, who happen to believe in the wrong things. The Hitler Jugend was an earlier manifestation of ISIS, with different hats and flags.
[. . .]
Murder cults are amazingly stereotypical.
The biggest mistake Europe's ruling classes made was "multiculturalism": glorifying dysfunctional tribal cultures and spreading hatred against the successful West and Christianity. The multicult has now been denounced by Merkel, by Britain's David Cameron, Tony Blair, and other big politicians, but you can't wipe out decades of heavy indoctrination in one day.
The European and U.S. left wing hammered multi-cultism into millions of human heads, 24 hours a day, shoving it down in the schools and insisting on perverse glorification of violent tribal groups, like Muslim Somalis in Minneapolis.
The Multi Cult forbade rational thinking about importing violent Muslims and their hate-preaching imams.
The current wave of holy war began with the rise of OPEC in the 1970s, as per Mohammed's specs from the Arabian desert 1,400 years ago. Saudi super-billionaire Walid bin Talal has just promised another 35 million dollars for Muslim expansion in the West. Holy struggle doesn't have to be violent; if you kowtow to them completely, they are happy to accept your surrender.
[. . .]

Jihad adapts its tactics to the enemy, but it never drops the goal of global conquest. This is not a secret; our ruling classes and media are not as stupid as they pretend to be.
They know.
The European Union never has to face an election. Eurosocialist politicians have lifetime tenure, and when they make ruinous mistakes, they always escape any blame. The euro currency has been a catastrophe for the weaker economies of Europe – all except Germany and France. Importing 50 million easily radicalized Muslims was a history-making suicidal blunder, but nobody is allowed to say so, even today. Cannibalizing their defenses to feed the welfare state was yet another mind-boggling mistake. In the real world, suicidal mistakes are punished by reality, or by other people. Socialism evades any consequences.
When Obama withdrew U.S. protection, Europe suddenly became vulnerable to Putin and jihad. Even so-called "conservative" (i.e., sane) newspapers over there can't bring themselves to tell the truth. The EU and its national elites own the media. Not all Europeans are blind to these gross, delusional mistakes. Millions of people see it happening, and they are afraid. But this bunch of Eurosocialist rulers are just as deaf and dumb as the Soviet apparatchiks were. They can see their delusions crumbling, but they can't stop it.
The EU has a perfect formula for endemic corruption and betrayal, and Muslim regimes have always practiced political baksheesh. All the Saudis had to do was to import their own ancient political culture along with the mosques they built all over the place. Under Multi-Cult Jacques Chirac, Dominique de Villepin and Kofi Annan took big money from Saddam Hussein, money that was intended to feed Iraqi children. Nicolas Sarkozy took 50 million dollars from Moammar Gaddafi. Helmuth Kohl sold out to Putin's Gazprom, the Russian energy giant. The media shut their eyes.
Today the London Daily Telegraph claims that 261 British politicians are directly implicated in child sexual abuse rings in the U.K., but they are never exposed. The BBC covered up their own child sex abuse scandal for decades. Every writer about Islam has known that underage sexual abuse is endemic in the Muslim world, following the example of the perfect man, Mohammed. Occasionally another "Asian" (Muslim) child abuse gang is arrested in the U.K., but the cops can never catch up. They can't even go into no-go zones in London. Nobody can purge the rot, because everybody is either on the take or open to blackmail.
The Cambridge Spy Ring of the 1930s were gay college students who were easily suborned by the KGB. Today gay sex is legal, but child abuse is not, and to hostile regimes it's an obvious blackmail trick. In the U.S., Bill Clinton was caught going to Jeffrey Epstein's Lolita Island off the Florida coast, and yes, Mr. Epstein did have videocams recording what was going on.
Nobody has ever told the U.S. public all the blackmail possibilities, but we know that unidentified hackers have stolen hundreds of personal identities of many federal officials. Hillary and Huma's email scam was a wide open invitation for predatory hackers from Russia, Iran, China, Israel, the EU, and all the rest. Once you can read hundreds of Hillary's SecState emails, it's a lot easier to break into more secure systems.
Any sentient person now knows that Obama and Hillary are Eurosocialists. Chicago is a sort of Eurosocialist political machine. Obama's mentor is Emil Jones, the "godfather" of the Illinois Machine, and Michelle's father was a Chicago ward boss. Chicago is also a baksheesh culture. It makes Chicago Muslims feel right at home.
The West has cooked up this devil's brew with the active help of hostile regimes. Angela Merkel will never admit to being wrong about the jihad invasion, because German politicians can't admit mistakes. The Euroclass keep committing lethal blunders, but they're afraid that public exposure will bring Dr. Guillotin to their door, just as with Marie Antoinette. Muslim infiltration by money, blackmail, and jihad immigration is still out of control.
[. . .]
Europe is still the second richest economy per capita, with more than 300 million productive people. It still has no serious defensive capacity, because Uncle Sam took care of all that – until Obama pulled out the rug.
[. . .]
Europe has been emasculated by two generations of anti-male, anti-realist, fantasy propaganda.
[. . .]
When Obama gave his first "Look at me, citizens of the world!" speech in Berlin in 2008, he first wanted to talk at the Brandenburg Gate. Instead, the Germans proposed the Siegesaule Platz, the center of the gay scene in Berlin.
[. . .]
Everybody over there understood the joke, but nobody told Americans. The Victory Column celebrates Prussia's victory over France in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. Otto von Bismarck ruled Prussia at the time, and the war was part of his campaign to unite all the German-speaking provinces under Berlin's control in a single Reich. Bismarck's unification of Germany led directly to World War I, which led directly to World War II and the Cold War.
[. . .]
Eurosocialism has now managed to swing Europe away from its bloody past, which seems like a good idea. But under Angela Merkel the Germans have also managed to emasculate themselves, in another one of those pathological swings from one extreme to the other. The EU proclaims its peaceful intentions at the top of its voice, just like Stalin's Soviet Union.
But Merkel's ground-kissing bow to the rapefugees tells us that Europe still hasn't found a sane political balance.
Europe has only switched one political pathology for another one.

Hurt Feelings Do Not Make An Issue Moral

[From article]
New York City is proposing a $250,000 fine for using the wrong pronoun in reference to a transgendered person. Really?! How would you know which pronoun to use? Why would a he that used to be a she be upset if one slipped up and used the feminine pronoun? Accidents happen, especially where confusion abounds. Are we now to ask about genitalia before we address a person with a Ms. or a Mr.?
[. . .]
Where, on what planet, in what list of thou-shalt-nots, among what tribe of people is being totally inoffensive the most important moral value? And who has the authority in a free society to determine for the rest of us what is or is not an assault on general sensibilities?
[Answer is Harvard University administrators, and instructors at the prestigious Kennedy School of Government. That's who.]
[. . .]
True morality has nothing to do with who’s offended. It has to do with limiting the chaos in society.
Being offensive is a breech of etiquette, not of morality. Being offensive is belching loudly, swearing like a stevedore, farting in church. It’s a failure of proper manners and decorum; it has nothing to do with political opinions, religious faith, or human morals.
[. . .]

“the whiney class.” These are people who claim a special dispensation and demand that they never be offended, slighted, or snubbed in even the slightest way. Some blacks claim the right to never be called on anything, and demanding such deference is a big part of the Muslim stealth jihad; [. . .] Atheists appear to be of the opinion that no one should ever say anything about God; they evidently find His mention disturbing and references to His Son ever more disorienting. Feminists appear to be upset by anything men do.
[. . .]
America has grown half a population with no backbone, no resilience, no interest in truth and the discomfort that often accompanies its discovery.

The Season Of Being Offended

[From article]
This is the time of year when news of people being offended by Christian symbols reaches a high point. Progressives view complaints about a “war on Christmas” as manufactured. Barack Obama commented on this in 2006:
This notion that's peddled by the religious right -- that they are oppressed -- is not true. Sometimes it's a cynical ploy to move their agenda ahead. The classic example being that somehow secularists are trying to eliminate Christmas, which strikes me as some kind of manufactured controversy.
[. . .]

Professor James Hitchcock has written, “Far from being neutral, the American government is now in the position of favoring unbelief over belief and irreligion over religion.” When there is media attention to their efforts and a strong reaction they tend to deny that they were establishing a new policy.
[. . .]
The chief of staff of Walter Reed National Medical Center banned family members from bringing Bibles to the facility. Col. Chuck Callahan’s memo stated, “No religious items (i.e., Bibles, reading materials and/or artifacts) are allowed to be given away or used during a visit.” After the memo became public the hospital released a statement saying that it was worded “improperly” and, “We apologize for any confusion the policy may have caused.”
[. . .]

The Department of Veterans Affairs director of the Houston National Cemetery, Arleen Ocasio, banned saying God or Jesus at funerals. VA Press Secretary Josh Taylor responded, “The idea that invoking the name of God or Jesus is banned at VA national cemeteries is blatantly false.” However, this policy was observed by several witnesses, including Congressman John Culberson.
[. . .]
The national Christmas holiday is gradually being replaced by a “Winter Celebration.” However, this may be too much of a reminder of the Christian holiday. Although it is not in the United States, Winnipeg, Canada, may give us a glimpse of the future. They have replaced their annual Winter Concert with an evening of African drumming.

OK Wesleyan University President, Reveals To Students, "This is not daycare."

Dr. Everett Piper, President Oklahoma Wesleyan University

Administrators and faculty at many universities including but not limited to Harvard, Yale and Columbia might benefit from reading this university president's letter.

[From letter]
This past week, I actually had a student come forward after a university chapel service and complain because he felt “victimized” by a sermon on the topic of 1 Corinthians 13. It appears this young scholar felt offended because a homily on love made him feel bad for not showing love. In his mind, the speaker was wrong for making him, and his peers, feel uncomfortable.
I’m not making this up. Our culture has actually taught our kids to be this self-absorbed and narcissistic. Any time their feelings are hurt, they are the victims. Anyone who dares challenge them and, thus, makes them “feel bad” about themselves, is a “hater,” a “bigot,” an “oppressor,” and a “victimizer.”
I have a message for this young man and all others who care to listen. That feeling of discomfort you have after listening to a sermon is called a conscience. An altar call is supposed to make you feel bad. It is supposed to make you feel guilty. The goal of many a good sermon is to get you to confess your sins—not coddle you in your selfishness. The primary objective of the Church and the Christian faith is your confession, not your self-actualization.
So here’s my advice:
[. . .]

If you’re more interested in playing the “hater” card than you are in confessing your own hate; if you want to arrogantly lecture, rather than humbly learn; if you don’t want to feel guilt in your soul when you are guilty of sin; if you want to be enabled rather than confronted, there are many universities across the land (in Missouri and elsewhere) that will give you exactly what you want, but Oklahoma Wesleyan isn’t one of them.
At OKWU, we teach you to be selfless rather than self-centered. We are more interested in you practicing personal forgiveness than political revenge. We want you to model interpersonal reconciliation rather than foment personal conflict. We believe the content of your character is more important than the color of your skin. We don’t believe that you have been victimized every time you feel guilty and we don’t issue “trigger warnings” before altar calls.
Oklahoma Wesleyan is not a “safe place”, but rather, a place to learn: to learn that life isn’t about you, but about others; that the bad feeling you have while listening to a sermon is called guilt; that the way to address it is to repent of everything that’s wrong with you rather than blame others for everything that’s wrong with them. This is a place where you will quickly learn that you need to grow up.
This is not a day care. This is a university.

White House Employs Anti American Cabinet Members, Who Ignore The First Amendment

"There is no constitutional right to perpetuate hostile environments or to engage in threatening speech," Duncan said. Here's one more White House anti American control freak ignoring the First Amendment. That guarantees the right to express protected speech and behavior which may offend some people. Racist speech is protected speech. Duncan's comment is offensive and hostile. Under his standards he should be silenced. Low and no information, and omniscient voters have been conditioned to promote not hurting feelings over constitutional rights. Feminist therapeutic state is destroying the constitution. Harvard University's Sexual Assault Policy Not Law Based

This policy indicates that Harvard University has moved beyond the rule of law into the therapeutic state. No more lawful standards of criminal liability. It is all about feelings.

[From article]
activists and administrators alike say that the next hurdle, which is related but perhaps more daunting, is changing a culture that propagates the normalcy of sexual violence and mistreatment of its victims.

Muslim Feelings More Important Than First Amendment and Feelings of US Citizens?

If hurting feelings is so important, why are the feelings of Muslims more important than the feelings of Americans? Telling US citizens they must not express protected speech is offensive to the First Amendment and top the feelings of Americans. It violates the oaths of offices of these officers too.
