These secular conservatives may think that “America can survive the death of God and religion,” writes Prager, but they are wrong.
And, indeed, the last half-century seems to bear him out.
A people’s religion, their faith, creates their culture, and their culture creates their civilization. And when faith dies, the culture dies, the civilization dies, and the people begin to die.

Today, no great Western nation has a birthrate that will prevent the extinction of its native-born. By century’s end, other peoples and other cultures will have largely repopulated the Old Continent.
European Man seems destined to end like the 10 lost tribes of Israel — overrun, assimilated and disappeared.
And while the European peoples — Russians, Germans, Brits, Balts — shrink in number, the U.N. estimates that the population of Africa will double in 34 years to well over 2 billion people.

As European elites ceased to believe in Christianity, they began to convert to ideologies, to what Dr. Russell Kirk called “secular religions.”
For a time, these secular religions — Marxism-Leninism, fascism, Nazism — captured the hearts and minds of millions. But almost all were among the gods that failed in the 20th century.
Now Western Man embraces the newer religions: egalitarianism, democratism, capitalism, feminism, One Worldism, environmentalism.
These, too, give meaning to the lives of millions, but these, too, are inadequate substitutes for the faith that created the West.
For they lack what Christianity gave man — a cause not only to live for, and die for, but a moral code to live by, with the promise that, at the end a life so lived, would come eternal life. Islam, too, holds out that promise.
Secularism, however, has nothing on offer to match that hope.

When, after the fall of the Roman Empire, the West embraced Christianity as a faith superior to all others, as its founder was the Son of God, the West went on to create modern civilization, and then went out and conquered most of the known world.

Suicide is a rising cause of death for middle-aged whites.

Blurring The Difference Between Man and Woman

There are inherent, deeply flawed assumptions behind this latest leftist gimcrackery posturing as a human rights issue. It's time to consider what is really going behind the "bathroom" bills.
It is past time to evaluate the campaigns against the religious freedoms of Christians and other people of faith who believe – as all civilizations of the past have that there is a clear and innate differentiation between men and women that cannot be erased by an act of will. The correlating belief is that there is a moral code of sexual behavior that cannot be abrogated or entirely discarded without disastrous consequences to any given society.
For one thing, behind the push for passing the "bathroom" bills is the utopian belief that this Earth must be made be a safe place for everyone, no matter what the identity of choice or the resultant behavior. The belief that no one should have his or her beliefs or actions controverted or challenged by anyone else, the idea that my real self is what I proclaim it to be, is derived from a utopianism that at heart is completely divorced from reality.
To insist you must have complete safety in any place at any time, including the bathroom of your choosing, is to believe that in this world the lion can lie down with the lamb and that you can handle serpents and they will not bite you. It is to believe the Cinderella fairy tale without the wicked stepmother, the Grimm stories without the grim. It is to believe you can expunge risk and even evil from this planet.
Such utopianism also requires us all to believe in the infallible and incontrovertible goodness of the individual inner voice, a voice that, because it is the divine discernment of one's true self, cannot be contradicted. It is to believe that that voice is always perfectly good and harmless to others.

We have seen this mad utopianism – demanding that each individual must be provided a perfectly safe place free from even another human being's opposing thoughts, thoughts that might contradict one's chosen identity – being avidly promoted on the campuses of our most prestigious universities. The result is that places formerly known for rigorous scholarly inquiry are rapidly becoming ideological hellholes devoid of the strenuous intellectual and spiritual endeavors necessary for the full development of the human being.

Next, reducing what the meaning of being human entails invites tyranny. Preventing the conflict and risk necessary to growth means that Peter Pans will soon find they have leaders who are actually Lords of the Flies, leaders whose demands become ever more exacting and ever more divorced from reality.

Look at the fate of past societies that insisted on a safe utopia (safe for some, deadly for others). In the end, the perfect communist man never arrived, though millions died in order for a ruthless politburo to achieve the ideal. Nor was the racially pure übermensch ever brought forth, though millions died in order that the fantastical perfect Aryan might be born.

The current mania for "gender-free" society unchained by individuation by sex involves more than reductionism, diminishment, or artificial inflation of human beings into either beasts or supermen. How ironic is it that the sexual revolution is now actually attempting to abolish the distinction between the sexes, thus achieving the distortion and eventual abolition of the human being?

This incident took place at a recent ceremony honoring the birthday of the Corps, and it has the ACLU up in arms. "These are federal employees," says Lucius Traveler, a spokesman for the ACLU, "on federal property and on federal time... For them to pray is clearly an establishment of religion, and we must nip this in the bud immediately."
When asked about the ACLU's charges, Colonel Jack Fessender, speaking for the Commandant of the Corps said,  "F*** the ACLU.  GOD Bless Our Warriors.  Send the

Atheists Better at Mass Murder Than God Fearing Leaders

Atheists do not believe in God. Inalienable rights come from God. Are atheists entitled to any of those rights?

Why should the Constitution favor religious belief over unbelief -- atheism? History provides an answer. Many atheists are fond of reminding people that when it comes to crimes against humanity, Christianity has much to answer for including the Thirty Years War, the Inquisition, and involvement with slavery. But two out of three of the worst mass murderers in all of history were atheists and the third might best be described as pagan.
According to Rummel’s Death by Government, Stalin’s Union of Soviet Socialist Republics – an atheist state -- murdered about 62 million of its own people during its 75 years of existence. Between 1948 and 1976, another explicitly atheist state, Mao’s People’s Republic of China murdered 35 million of its own people primarily through deliberate starvation. The third worst mass murderer, Hitler’s Nazi Germany, killed 21 million persons.
This is not to say that every atheist is a potential mass murderer. There are ethical self-proclaimed atheists and unethical self-proclaimed Christians. But to paraphrase author and journalist Damon Runyon, mass murderers may not always be atheists, but that's the way to bet.
Why might atheists value other people’s lives less?

But the basic equality of man is not self-evident to an atheist who depends only on personal observation or scientific enquiry to discover truth.

It seems a small step from the scientific observation that people differ in key aspects to the conclusion that some people, who we think are ignorant, malicious, or self-centered, should not be trusted with positions of leadership, influence, or even the right to vote. Based on personal observation, might one conclude that some people have value and others do not?

It is insufficient to simply know what is right -- most of us must be motivated to do what is right.

The Soviet Union’s Stalin and China’s Mao didn’t murder tens of millions by themselves; they required hundreds of thousands or millions of ordinary people to assist in committing their horrible crimes. And if most of the population were atheists then this facilitated recruiting participants in their mass murders. If the police and people you respect are encouraging you to kill the villain of the hour -- whether he is called kulak, revisionist, or is a member of some racial or ethnic group -- why would an atheist hesitate?

The question is not whether the outcomes Adams predicts will come to pass if Bernie Sanders is elected president. The question, rather, is how much of what he predicts has already come to pass, for we have long ago admitted and accepted as law the notion that “the right to property is not as sacred as the laws of God.” Furthermore, what might further infringements upon property rights, much less Sanders’ suggestion that we abolish them, mean for our culture and our country?
Just as any reasonable person might understand why a home loan poses less risk for a lender than a student loan, any reasonable person should also recognize the danger in a government with the power to rob successful individuals in order to provide for a preferred class of idle, entitled, and envious grumblers.

It’s commonly assumed that racism has a general nature: to be a racist is to display a certain negative attitude or behaviors toward all members of the targeted group. This assumption is reasonably grounded in the paradigmatic manifestations of racism throughout history. When medieval Christians hated Jews on the basis of religion, for example, they hated all Jews (we usually think), until they converted. When the Nazis hated Jews on the basis of race, they hated all Jews (we think) no matter what their creed, even those Jews who had converted and assimilated.
It makes sense: if you’re a Jew-hater, then you hate all Jews.
Except that it simply isn’t true.
Neither empirically, nor theoretically.

Suppose that someone is anti-Zionist in that hostile way that falls under the U.S. State Department’s definition of antisemitism, itself adopting Natan Sharanksy’s definition: anti-Zionism becomes antisemitism when it operates by means of any of the “3Ds,” namely when it Demonizes, applies Double Standards to, or Delegitimizes the State of Israel. It’s hardly any secret that Jews are among the many who display this sort of behavior, particularly those who identify as progressives or liberals.

What you will typically find in the Jewishness espoused by these Jews is the universal: the compassion, the justice, the ethics. Those are all wonderful things, and Judaism is all the more wonderful for emphasizing them. But what’s more important is what is left out from this list, namely everything particular: the unique people, the nation, with its unique history, religion, and ties to a specific land. What’s left out, in other words, is everything that distinguishes Jews from other people.

So, too, some people only hate some Jews. Which Jews? Those Jews who stand up for the rights of Jews. Those Jews who believe that Jews have the same dignity and basic rights enjoyed by all other peoples. Those Jews who believe that Jews have the right of self-determination in that one little sliver of earth that is their ancient homeland.

Russian and Ethiopian Jews, Armenians Christians and Catholics from Vietnam have all been moved to the front of the line in previous eras based on their faith, according to historians. And giving one religious group preference is tantamount to sending others to the back of the lines, noted immigration experts.
“Clearly, there have been policies that said we will consider certain people from certain religions,” said Ira Mehlman, spokesman for Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

“That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.”
But under the 1990 law known as the Lautenberg Amendment, the federal government initially granted a presumption of refugee eligibility for Jews and Christians fleeing the former Soviet Union and Southeast Asia. Nowadays, the amendment, extended last year by Obama, prioritizes the resettlement of Jews, Christians, Baha’is, and other religious minorities who flee Iran.
Obama, his critics and some experts appear to have taken at least three sides in the debate. The president believes not taking in Muslim refugees is religious discrimination; critics say doing so could expose Americans to Islamic extremists who hide among them and still others who spoke to FoxNews.com say religious minorities, which in the Middle East are Christians, deserve priority.
The State Department has even indicated that Syria’s Christian community, which made up an estimated 10 percent of that country’s population prior to the civil war, and has faced horrific brutality from Islamic State, should get preferential treatment based on their status.[. . .]
“I don’t know that I would say put Christians at the front of the line in every case, but I would say, as a policy, to put religious minorities first,” Everett said. “In Iraq and Syria, Christians and Yazidis are the minority, and their situation is dire.”

One of the unexpected and remarkable developments in the Middle East has been the collapse of the state system with the chaos in Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. At present only Iran, Turkey, Egypt, and Israel remain as states characterized by some form of national identity if not total solidarity, and capable and willing to take action. The Middle East monarchies, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the Gulf Emirates are less able and less willing to do so.

Events of the last few weeks show both the untruthfulness of Palestinian leaders about the real nature of differences with Israel and their inability to control their population. They have either allowed or been unable to control the cycle of random violence in Jerusalem and in the West Bank that has led to the deaths of both Israelis and Palestinians. Violence has flowed, leading some Palestinians to favor and even call for a third intifada, with the memories in mind of the second one that ended in 2005.
The lack of control by Palestinian authorities has allowed stabbings and murders of Jews to continue and has heightened the feeling of insecurity. It was understandable that Hamas, which has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007, should encourage the violence and attacks on Israelis. It is disappointing that the Palestinian Authority and Fatah, supposedly more moderate, should also have been involved.

Besides this Palestinian refusal to engage in mutual security activity, two things are troubling: the official Palestinian praise for terrorists and the disloyalty of Israeli Arabs to their country, Israel.
It is a matter of concern that almost all the recent terrorist acts have been committed by youngsters who have been educated in schools run by the Palestinian Authority.

An Ivy League professor said that Ben Carson should win the "coon of the year" after the 2016 hopeful supported allowing Confederate flags at NASCAR events.
In a tweet sent out last Tuesday, University of Pennsylvania religious studies professor Anthea Butler, wrote "If only there was a 'coon of the year' award ..." when responding to Daily Beast editor-at-large Goldie Taylor's tweet containing a link to a Sports Illustrated article on the issue.
"Swastikas are a symbol of hate for some people too … and yet they still exist in our museums and places like that," Carson said during an event with Richard Petty in North Carolina last Monday. "If it's a majority of people in that area who want it to fly, I certainly wouldn't take it down."

Two current cases may help clarify the issue of the degree to which religious conviction exempts a person from performing job duties. The New York Times and the rest of the national media are giving front page treatment to Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky county clerk who refuses to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples on religious grounds. For them, the story is one of religious bias from the hateful right standing in the way of human happiness.
The other story is receiving less national attention. Melissa Nann Burke of the Detroit News reports:
A Muslim-American group plans Tuesday to file a discrimination complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against ExpressJet Airlines for allegedly failing to accommodate a Metro Detroit-area Muslim flight attendant who objects to serving alcohol based on her religious beliefs.

Religious convictions should not be used to change the nature of the job that the incumbent, after all, sought. We have the liberty to worship as we wish, as we have the liberty to seek employment consistent with our religion. I do not think we have the liberty to impose our religionon others, including our employers.
I am as appalled as anyone at the sloppy reasoning used by a Supreme Court majority to impose same sex marriage on the country. But the way our system is structured, the duties of a county clerk now include issuing marriage licenses. So, too, the duties a flight attendant include serving alcoholic drinks.
If we establish as a general principle that people can redefine their jobs depending on religious conviction, then we invite chaos. Carly Fiorina, who has run a global technology company employing all sorts of people, handled this question very well,

Gore's film like the Pope cites politicians, who are further removed from reality. Problem with computer models is they omit the role of nature adapting to changes in the environment. Nature always does what it needs to do in order to maintain equilibrium. Computer models cannot know what nature will do.

Climate Change, The New Religion

Lotter says, "Pope Francis reminds us that climate justice is at its core a social justice issue." Does that mean that 97 percent of scientists who support the computer model theory of science are wrong? It is not a scientific certainty, not settled science? Does it mean that global warming is a religion, that changed it name? Does Lotter suggest there was no climate change before humans appeared on the earth? Before there were fossil fuels? Was the earth's climate unchanging then?

For The New York Times, deciding which images are too offensive for publication is a tricky business.
On Monday, the paper published an image of Niki Johnson's "Eggs Benedict," a portrait of Pope Benedict XVI fashioned entirely out of condoms.
The artwork is "not hate-based," the Milwaukee artist told the Times, but is meant only to "critique" Benedict's views on sex and contraception "while raising awareness about public health."
"What I want to do is really destigmatize the condom, normalize it," she told the newspaper. "I've watched kids and parents talk about condoms. It opens a door to talking about what those things are and what they do."
The Times' decision to run an image of "Eggs Benedict" comes just five months after it opted not to show Charlie Hebdo's infamously provocative artwork.
The newspaper's executive editor, Dean Baquet, said in public statements at the time that the French satirical magazine's cartoons were simply too offensive for publication.

For the Times, there's no comparison between "Eggs Benedict" and Charlie Hebdo's controversial Muhammed artwork.

An official with the Milwaukee Art Museum, which will soon display Johnson's portrait, told the Times he hopes the condom-laden image will "bring not only controversy, but room for conversation about the underlying discussion the artist intended as well as regarding the role of art in public discussion."
The Times' Corbett told the Examiner, "I don't think these situations – the Milwaukee artwork and the various Muhammad caricatures – are really equivalent. For one thing, many people might disagree, but museum officials clearly consider this Johnson piece to be a significant artwork."

The Times has been criticized in the past for having an apparently inconsistent policy when it comes to publishing controversial – and even offensive – images.

If slavery was the worst thing that happened to black folks brought from Africa to America, Christianity was the best.
Charleston, too, gave us an example of how a city should behave when faced with horror.
Contrast the conduct of those good Southern people who stood outside that church in solidarity with the aggrieved, with the Ferguson mobs that looted and burned and the New York mobs that chanted for the killing of cops when the Eric Garner grand jury declined to indict.
Yet, predictably, the cultural Marxists, following Rahm Emanuel’s dictum that you never let a crisis go to waste, descended like locusts.

But the battle flag is not so much a symbol of hatred as it is an object of hatred, a target of hatred. It evokes a hatred of the visceral sort that we see manifest in Jenkins’ equating of the South of Washington, Jefferson, John Calhoun, Andrew Jackson and Lee with Hitler’s Third Reich.
What the flag symbolizes for the millions who revere, cherish or love it, however, is the heroism of those who fought and died under it. That flag flew over battlefields, not over slave quarters.
Hence, who are the real haters here?

Vilification of that battle flag and the Confederacy is part of the cultural revolution in America that flowered half a century ago. Among its goals was the demoralization of the American people by demonizing their past and poisoning their belief in their own history.

If we are to preserve our republic, future generations are going to need what that battle flag truly stands for: pride in our history and defiance in the face of the arrogance of power.

Louie Gohmert (R.-Texas) said on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday that God may make the United States pay a price because, Gohmert said, the Obama administration has been telling people in Africa it will help them counter radical Islam but only if they abandon their Christian views on abortion and same-sex marriage.
“Only if you will violate your Christian beliefs will we be willing to come help you,” Gohmert said, summarizing his understanding of the administration’s view. “If there is a God as the Bible talks about, there will be a price to this Nation for acting in such a way.”

I was advised by some other Members of Congress who got back from a trip to East Africa, where they were told by leaders in East African nations the same thing that they are being told by the people in this administration: Oh, yeah, we will help you with radical Islam, but only if you change your laws to violate your strongly held Christian beliefs that same-sex marriage is wrong. And also, start providing abortions, also violating your strongly held religious beliefs.
Only if you will violate your Christian beliefs will we be willing to come help you. If there is a God as the Bible talks about, there will be a price to this Nation for acting in such a way.

“After we opened up the coffee bar and started doing services, I heard that he told people we were anti-gay,” Olive said. “So I went to his shop to ask him about that.”
I reached out to Amoroso on Wednesday but he did not return my telephone calls.
Pastor Olive told me he tried to convey to Amoroso that the church’s message is ‘Love God, Love People.’
“Our message to the gay community is the same as it is to the straight community,” he said.
The commissioner, Olive said, did not seem to appreciate his message.
“He pointed at me and said, ‘Listen, you better not have a church down there,” Olive told me.
By the strangest of coincidences, a code enforcement officer showed up for a Sunday service on Feb. 8. He was wearing a hoodie and was armed with a concealed video camera, according to the letter Liberty Counsel sent to the city.

For the record – the church was only licensed to sell java – not preach Jesus.
William Waters, the city’s community sustainability director, told me they have nothing against the church – they were simply responding to a complaint.
“We had a complaint that a gathering of people was taking place there in the form of a church,” he said. “We investigated that and determined that, yes, there were people gathered there.”
So if 115 people gather for coffee, that’s OK. But if they gather for worship – it’s against the law?
“We have to treat everybody the same,” Waters said. “We couldn’t give preferential treatment to churches versus other businesses.”
And in the city’s opinion, a church is, in fact, a business – just like grocery store, a Waffle House or an adult novelty shop.

“We’ve been there 99 years and we’ve never had to have a license,” she told the newspaper. “Where do you all of a sudden say the church has to have a license to gather and pray?”
Waters could not tell me how many churches have complied with the city’s demands. Local news accounts indicate the First Baptist Church paid nearly $500 in fees to the city.
Staver said the city’s actions violate the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the Florida Constitution, the Florida Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the federal Religious Land Uses and Institutionalized Persons Act.
“Churches are not businesses and need not obtain such licenses,” Staver wrote in a letter to the city.
Waters said any church that refuses to comply could be shut down by the fire department.

The April 2013 assignment involved a crossword puzzle teaching eighth graders that conservatives are a bunch of authoritarian, oppressive thugs.
Conservatism, according to the public school assignment, is “the political belief of preserving traditional moral values by restricting personal freedoms and encouraging prosperity through economic freedom.”

Hypocrisy Among Homosexuals Rears Its Ugly Head

The extremist alarmists about religious beliefs, demanding that homosexuals and lesbians be treated equally, ignore the disgusting way they obliterate the rights of people to believe as they choose. Religious beliefs are guaranteed by the US Constitution. The same document does not guarantee homosexuals a right to practice homosexual sex. One more example of common sense being a punishment, not a gift. You have to live with people who do not have it.

On January 21, 2009, about three-quarters of the way through his first inaugural address, after paragraphs of bromides about American greatness, he alluded to the menace of militant Islam:
For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth…
It has become customary in our time to speak of America as a Judeo-Christian civilization because the facts of history show that, so “a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus” as a new formulation of the melting pot meme was a major departure.

Muslims, by contrast, played no role in the making of America. There is no evidence of a Muslim presence before the 20th century. Yet here on that January day was the brand new American President orating that the U.S. was “a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus…”
In this formulation, the Jews have been bumped back to third place, elbowed, so to speak, aside by Muslims who take their place. This recalls what happened in the 7th century when their Prophet Muhammad told his followers that they had replaced the Jews as Allah’s Chosen People.

Jefferson spent five years in France after the Revolution as a trade commissioner, then ambassador. That is when he bought his Koran, because almost every day of these years there were American hostages enslaved in North Africa that he struggled to but failed to liberate. In this period, he even met in London with an ambassador from the Bashaw (pasha) of Tripoli, a predecessor of Muammar Gaddafi who demanded $100,000 not to begin hijacking American ships and enslaving all the people aboard. What Are Elements of A Healthy Civilization?

However, we can clearly observe that wherever Islam rears its head, civilization dies. That does not tell us what is best, just merely what to avoid.

A civilization's height and stability depend on how well they treat its women. This should be a no-brainer. Civilizations which are overly male dominated are overly violent. Islamic cultures come to mind. To regard women is to place feminine virtues above brute force, which is then relegated to the bottom of the social hierarchy. Islam seems incapable of absorbing this fact. The more civilized the nation is, the better it treats its women. This is an invariable and iron-clad rule.

Islam is sheer poison. Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Shintoism all have their problems and issues, yet all can produce high civilization. Islam produces nothing, borrows everything, and then corrupts whatever it borrows.

Islam considers all history before Mohammed as Jahiliyyah (ignorance), and allows no additions apart from Islam. It has no concept of progress.
There may be no superior religion required for civilization -- though Christianity is recommended, especially for its ethics -- but there is one religion which destroys all civilization: Islam.

There is no superior race, with each ethnic group producing its own peculiar form of indigenous genius, and having the ability to learn and appreciate the genius produced by others. However, up to this time in history, sub-Saharan Africa seems peculiarly immune to this general rule. Africa was de-colonized 50 years ago. During that time, Singapore rose to heights. India is now an industrial power. Yet, all of Africa, even Christian Africa, remains a complete mess.

Also clear is that no one wants to stare this African exception in the face.
I can find no universal rule for civilizational success except to treat women better. I can find one universal rule to avoid civilizational collapse: Avoid Islam.
Africa remains beyond explanation.
