New York Governor and Close Associates Under Scrutiny By U.S. Attorney

[From article]
A former top Cuomo aide who is under criminal investigation for “consulting’’ with companies doing business with the state told potential clients he had the administration’s OK for the work — despite never receiving it, The Post has been told.
Madison Square Garden Executive Vice President Joseph Percoco, who until last January was Gov. Cuomo’s executive deputy secretary and one of his closest friends, “told various clients or potential clients that he had approval from the governor’s counsel’s office to work for them,’’ said a source close to the situation.
“It turned out the counsel’s office did no such thing. It didn’t give any approval,” the source said. “And Joe never gave the clients anything to prove what he said, so the clients didn’t get anything in writing.’’
Public records show that Percoco, who left the state payroll for several months in early 2014 to run Cuomo’s re-election campaign, said he received as much as $125,000 in still-unexplained “consulting’’ fees during that year from two companies, COR Development of Syracuse and Albany-based CHA Consulting, which have longstanding dealings and tens of millions of dollars in contracts with the state.
Percoco’s income from the companies didn’t become public until late last month, when US Attorney Preet Bharara served a subpoena on Cuomo’s office seeking records relating to Percoco’s work, as well as the work performed for those and other companies by influential lobbyist Todd Howe, a Percoco friend and longtime associate of both Andrew and former Gov. Mario Cuomo.
Howe, who sources said helped arrange the consulting work for Percoco, was fired last week by a longtime employer — Albany-based law/lobbying firm Whiteman, Osterman & Hanna — after being barred days earlier by Cuomo from having any contact with the state government.
[. . .]
The subpoena, excerpts of which were obtained by The Post, sought “phone logs, visitor logs, calendar entries between January 2012 and present that show meetings with any’’ entities on a list of 26 individuals and companies.
The subpoena also demanded information on “any actions taken by” Percoco, Secretary to the Governor William Mulrow, state Operations Director James Malatras, Buffalo-area Democratic operative Peter Cutler and other Cuomo aides related to the companies for which Percoco and Howe worked, as well as for several other companies connected to the governor’s high-profile “Buffalo Billion’’ economic-development efforts.
It also seeks “any documents concerning’’ two not-for-profit economic-development companies set up in conjunction with SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering and its president, Dr. Alain Kaloyeros, a key “Buffalo Billion’’ adviser.
Sources in the Cuomo administration said the governor appears “increasingly nervous and anxious’’ about Bharara’s probe, and some noted that Cuomo has almost completely disappeared from public view during the past weeks as the scandal began to unfold

New York City Mayor Investigated By Four Agencies For Corruption

Preet Bharara, U.S. Attorney SDNY

[From article]
At least five investigations are underway concerning corruption in or around New York City mayor Bill de Blasio’s administration. So far, the investigations have revealed that two members of the mayor’s inaugural committee gave lavish gifts to top NYPD brass in exchange for favors, including the opportunity to hang around in police circles and get speedy access to gun permits. A lobbyist with close ties to de Blasio was involved in a shady real estate deal that leveraged city approval to make millions for inside investors. Next, it emerged that the mayor’s closest advisors had asked major donors to funnel money through county political committees to Democratic candidates for state senate in 2014. This kind of fundraising is against the law if the donations are coordinated. Investigators are also looking into coordination between the mayor’s 2013 campaign, his political nonprofit organization the Campaign for One New York, and the operations of anti-horse-carriage group NYCLASS, which was organized as an independent campaign group. Finally, authorities are examining allegations that “straw donors” contributed large sums to de Blasio’s mayoral campaign.
A range of entities are investigating these overlapping charges, including the office of Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance; the New York State Board of Elections; New York State’s Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE); and U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, among others. In sum, every law enforcement agency with oversight over New York City government is asserting shared jurisdiction and examining some piece of what is shaping up to be one of the largest municipal political scandals in history.

In response, Mayor de Blasio has taken a page from his former boss Hillary Clinton’s playbook and claimed that the whole thing is a frame-up orchestrated by his political enemies. [. . .] The implication is that Governor Andrew Cuomo—a fellow Democrat but otherwise no friend of de Blasio’s—is directing JCOPE’s probe. JCOPE is a legally constituted state commission empowered to investigate matters pertaining to ethics and lobbying; no provision exists by which officials can opt out of its investigations. And the idea that Bharara is taking his marching orders from Albany is ludicrous: there is every reason to assume that Cuomo himself may be in Bharara’s sights.
De Blasio suggests that he has been targeted on ideological grounds, because he has spoken so much truth to power. [. . .] Going further to burnish his revolutionary credentials and solidify his support among African-American voters, de Blasio praised the election of Sadiq Khan (“this ray of light”) as mayor of London. “A lot of people in this room have studied history and know something about colonialism and imperialism,” he said. “How wonderful—yes, a bit ironic—but more important a statement of progress that the place that used to be the capital of colonialism has elected a Muslim man as its mayor.”
In radio interviews, de Blasio has complained about unfair double standards. [. . .] a lot of people are doing a lot worse and not getting much examination.”
[. . .]

Perhaps trying to rally progressives and divert attention from his proliferating scandals, de Blasio renewed calls for a boycott of fast-food restaurant Chick-Fil-A, whose owner reportedly opposes same-sex marriage. [. . .] Several Chick-Fil-A franchises operate in Manhattan, and more are scheduled to open; protests were originally organized against the restaurant in New York City in 2012, prior to its expansion here.
[. . .]

As investigations and allegations of the mayor’s corruption continue to mount, expect him to continue blaming others, making vainglorious noises about his commitment to righteousness, and practicing clumsy legerdemain to divert attention from his problems. It has always been clear that de Blasio is not an effective manager of the city; what’s also becoming apparent is that he is not even good at managing his own image.

[From article]
This was how the mayor welcomed them on Monday: “I’m certainly not going to patronize them and I wouldn’t urge any other New Yorker to patronize them.”
Chick-Fil-A will survive. But as long as de Blasio’s trashing eateries in order to stroke special interests — common sense be damned — why won’t he take on other restaurants which might offend certain ethnic and gender sensitivities?
Italian-American joints often hang photos of Italian mobster-playing actors such as Marlon Brando and James Gandolfini, and even of real-life murderer John Gotti. The stereotype-promoting pictures at Capri on Mulberry Street left this Italian-American mortally wounded. The attitude of the mayor, my fellow paisano? Omerta.
You’d at least think a restaurant which posed a clear and present danger to public safety might draw his ire. But when the Carnegie Deli reopened recently after a 10-month shutdown, he cheerily tweeted a celebratory photo of a pastrami sandwich.
Never mind that Carnegie Deli was closed by city officials for illegally siphoning gas — the same kind of stunt which blew up an East Village building last year, killing two people and injuring 19.
But de Blasio prefers to pick and choose only those eatery beefs that satisfy his appetite for sucking up.

New York City Mayor Going Down Under Threats of Impeachment, Prosecution

[From article]
Less than a week ago, Mayor de Blasio was offering aid to Ecuadorians after the earthquake there. Now a political earthquake is rocking City Hall and the mayor is the one who needs help.
The report from the state Board of Elections that accuses him and his team of “willful and flagrant” violations of campaign-finance laws immediately changes everything.
The veneer of business as usual is shredded. Never again can de Blasio wave off questions about the mushrooming investigations of his administration. As revelations pile up day after day, allies will desert him and the Putz will find himself a very lonely man.
There is no way to sugarcoat the facts: de Blasio is in trouble. Maybe very big trouble.
His City Hall is being depicted as the seat of a criminal enterprise. And so far, he offers nothing resembling a convincing denial.
[. . .]

election report were all there is, it would still be a problem. It calls one of the campaign violations a possible felony and refers its findings to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. for prosecution. That explains why Vance recently partnered up with US Attorney Preet Bharara in the multipronged probe, effectively doubling the number of prosecutors and investigators.
And that gets to the heart of de Blasio’s vulnerability. His 2014 Senate effort wasn’t unique. It is just one example of how he has done business since the day he won the election in 2013.
Think of it as de Blasio’s Big Idea. While denouncing income inequality, he was determined to harvest big bucks from unions and private firms that had business before the city, and then to use that money to carry out his “progressive agenda.”
He raised as much as $40 million and deposited it in various slush funds he formed, including the Campaign for One New York, which he started before he even took the oath of office.
The money would be managed by a small team of insiders. Some were on the city payroll, but most were in favored law firms, public relations and consultant shops. In effect, de Blasio outsourced a permanent political operation to be the vanguard of his administration.
The money would come from real-estate developers, yellow-taxi medallion owners, teachers unions and anybody else willing to play ball in hopes the mayor would return the favors.
Oh, and one more thing: de Blasio would do much of the fund-raising himself, meeting with donors in large groups or one-on-one.

[From article]
“If he cares about this city the way he says he does, he needs to step down immediately and save us the continued national embarrassment,” said Tony Herbert, a former member of Al Sharpton’s National Action Network. “There are a lot of levels to this corruption”
Herbert and John Rodriguez, who heads a community-police relations group in Brooklyn, stood outside City Hall Park on Sunday to slam de Blasio for presiding over several scandals that have rocked the city’s political firmament.
Both conceded they don’t expect Hizzoner to drop the reins of city government without a fight so they’re exploring how to jump-start the impeachment process.
“The mayor is compromised. He has also compromised the integrity of the City of New York,” Herbert said. “You can not honestly represent this city, having these criminal investigations on your back.”
City, state and federal investigators are probing de Blasio and his top aides in several areas, including their fundraising efforts for the 2014 state Senate races, donors whoallegedly traded gifts for police favors, and a Lower East Side land deal that resulting in an assisted care facility being sold to build luxury apartments.

Herbert and Rodriguez said they’re unsure how impeaching a sitting mayor in New York City would work, but they aren’t the first to suggest de Blasio’s ouster. One change.org petitioner who attracted 250 supporters called for his impeachment a year ago for not being supportive of cops. Another moveon.org petition calling on his resignation received over 50,000 signatures in 2014 — before he had completed his first year in office.
Herbert suggested even more New Yorkers would back such an impeachment push now, citing three anti-de Blasio websites with thousands of supporters.
A de Blasio spokeswoman declined to comment on the nascent impeachment effort, but defended his efforts.

Lawsuit Naming High Ranking Politicians, Prosecutors, Ignored by Mainstream Journalists

Brad Edwards, Attorney

Paul Cassell, Attorney

[From article]
the deal that handed out token punishment to the statutory rapist has been hidden from the public and from the victims themselves:
Federal prosecutors in Florida intentionally kept underage victims of billionaire perv Jeffrey Epstein in the dark about his plea deal, newly unsealed court papers reveal.
The documents also show prosecutors wanted to keep the extent of Epstein’s alleged sex crimes away from a judge reviewing the deal.
[. . .]

This plea involved the slap on the wrist sentence of 13 months -- and he got to spend his waking hours at his Palm Beach mansion. That is, he only had to check into his "jail" eight hours a day.
Note: Epstein slept in a vacant wing of the Palm Beach County Stockade, so he was spared the ordeal of interaction with other prisoners.
[. . .]
Ann Coulter saw the problem a year ago, speaking to Sean Hannity:
This is a really important story. And I so love that you're pitching it just as a Clinton sex scandal, but it is so much more than that. And it's appalling that the only place that covered it last night -- I watched TV, every station -- was Megyn Kelly. God bless her. At least we got it out there. This is not just a Clinton sex scandal; this is the elites getting cozy and covering up and protecting one another. It also involves the Bush administration, it involves Ken Starr, the lawyers for Epstein.
There are some facts that are absolutely known, there are some that are only allegations right now. But the basic story is that Jeffrey Epstein -- there's a major Palm Beach police investigation, a young girl, 15-year-old girl's mother went to Palm Beach police back in 2006 and said my daughter is being paid to have sex with this rich man in Palm Beach. Palm Beach police staged a very detailed investigation without Epstein's knowledge.

Recipient of Sweetheart Court Deal, Billionaire Jeff Epstein, BFF of Bill Clinton

They went through his garbage, they get sworn statements from about a half-dozen of the victims as well as this slightly older girl who was procuring them. The evidence was quite strong and the same prosecutor that was going after Rush Limbaugh for back pain medication for two years wants to just give him a little ticket, just pay ten dollars and that's enough for having sex with these underage girls, that's of course statutory rape in Florida.
The Palm Beach police went mental after they staged this investigation and put all the evidence together. So they went to the federal government. That's where this case comes involved.
[. . .]

The prosecutors private's lives were investigated and according to the U.S. Attorney they were just pressured, jerked around, everything was appealed. Eventually they get Epstein to agree to plead guilty to a state charge, allegedly sentenced to 18 months, in fact it was 13 months and for 16 hours a day he was allowed to go to his mansion in Palm Beach. So he got basically no jail time. He is a registered sex offender.
[. . .]
A secret agreement was struck. The documents are under seal. A no prosecution agreement against not only Epstein but his lawyers and all these other friends of his. They are suing under that, they can open this case again. They could breach the no prosecution.
That case has been going on since 2008.
[. . .]
And the fact that thus far this has only been covered on Fox News is shocking. This is not a political thing. This is what MSNBC and the rest of the networks have been describing what they thought these fraternities, what they thought the [Duke] lacrosse rape [case was]. This is the elites circling the wagon and protecting a pederast. It's a shocking case and that's just the known facts.
[. . .]
Two teenage victimes of Palm Beach billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have filed court papers asking to depose top federal officials who were involved in inking the secret deal that saved Epstein from serious federal charges.
[. . .]

The victims filed the motion, in part, because of a new argument Assistant U.S. Attorney Dexter Lee made during a routine status check hearing in November.
Lee said the girls aren’t really victims because they procured other minor girls for Epstein and received money for it so they’re not protected under the federal Crime Victims’ Rights Act.
[. . .]
Filed in 2008, the lawsuit says the U.S. Attorney’s Office violated the federal Crime Victim’s Rights Act by failing to confer with the victims before signing a non-prosecution agreement with Epstein in September 2007.

Police Arrest Everett, MA Man In Murder For HIre, Feds Say

[From article]
In an affidavit filed in U.S. District court today, investigators tell of the seven-month investigation into Joseph Burke, who offered to kill the target—who was actually an undercover agent—on behalf of another man, who was also an agent working undercover. At stake was up to $100,000 that would be taken from the victim.
“You might know some rich people who want to get out of a marriage,” Burke allegedly told the undercover agent in a recording in March. Making a gun shape with his hand, he said, “I’ll do this all day long.”
The agent working with Burke told him that the target was messing with his business, and Burke agreed to do the hit, according to the affidavit. The pair checked out the target’s supposed office in New York City and discussed how the agent would pay for the hit. Burke allegedly suggested borrowing money from the target, who would be dead when the loan came due.
“That’s how wise guys do,” Burke said in the recording. “When the wise guys get clipped … you ain’t gotta pay it back; he’s gone.”
Burke’s girlfriend brought guns down to New York from Boston, the affidavit said, and Burke planned to use a silencer. At Burke’s request, the agent got two masks that looked like the faces of black men to wear during the hit.

Joseph Burke, of Everett, was arrested Friday morning in Everett on murder-for-hire charges. He provided an address of 43 Lexington Street, Everett, to authorities.
The murder-for-hire of a purported New York business man was scheduled for October 17, 2015, according to the affidavit.
Authorities have probable cause to believe that Burke traveled interstate and used facilities of interstate commerce in the commission of murder-for-hire, according to the affidavit. Federal authorities, assisted by local and state authorities, executed a search on Friday.
One of the undercover agents met with Burke on the numerous occasions, according to the federal affidavit, to discuss a variety of potential business ventures. During the course of those meetings, Burke offered to engage in several illegal activities, including marijuana trafficking, robberies, and the commission of violent acts, including murder, according to the federal agent.

Massachusetts Politicians Support Teamster Union Officials Charged By US Attorney

Don't expect the Justice Department to help Carmen Ortiz prosecute Democratic party supporters. US Rep. Capuano appears to be unable to distinguish between reality and Hollywood, a pervasive error among low and no information civilians. It indicates that dumbed down society has moved into government. Capuano objects to broad brush painting of union abuses, but it is OK when black extremists accuse white people of being racists, and enjoying white privilege. As in Leninist Russia it is all about the almighty party. No more individual rights. The party rules. Promoting good deeds of miscreants is why crime families thrive in the United States and Mexico. They help people without a bureaucracy. Poor vulnerable people recognize the failure of government and place their allegiance with criminals. Government lost its credibility and was easy pickings for criminals to run their own candidates. It explains the lawlessness of the White House and the reluctance of Congress to stop the abuses. Elected officials who speak for union suspects show they prefer support of unions to federal prosecutors. Where were these officials when the FBI, Justice Department attorneys and police agencies were running wild with James Bulger's gang? Harvard Law Professor of ethics "On Leave" Lessig runs for president to fight corruption. Is there no way to fight it other than becoming president? Of the five law schools in Boston and Cambridge which one speaks out about government corruption?

[From article]
“I couldn’t disagree with that more,” U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano said yesterday. “Every city, every group has bad actors in it — including the U.S. Attorney’s Office, I might add. Anybody who paints that kind of broad brush is making a humongous mistake.
“You may have seen a recent movie lately that involves some people in the U.S. Attorney’s Office that didn’t do the right thing in Boston,” he added, referring to “Black Mass,” which tells of mobster James “Whitey” Bulger’s unholy alliance with the FBI.
[. . .]
The Teamsters have built a political power base that’s thrown its weight behind Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Attorney General Maura Healey, Treasurer Deborah Goldberg and other high-profile Democrats. Healey and Goldberg have refused to return donations they’ve gotten from the Teamsters.
“The attorney general feels strongly that the actions that are alleged by these individuals shouldn’t reflect on the good work of an entire organization,” Healey campaign spokesman David Guarino said.
[. . .]
U.S. Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, a former union ironworker, said the allegations are “stuff that used to happen in the ’40s and ’50s.”

Major Drug Bust in Taunton, MA, Providence, RI

Some of the Suspects Arrested

[From article]
Officials say a street-level drug dealer from Marshfield was among 25 people indicted this week as authorities sought to take down a Taunton-based operation accused of pumping heroin and fentanyl into Southeastern Massachusetts.

On Thursday morning, police in communities from Marshfield to Providence, R.I., fanned out to arrest people accused of serving a range of roles within the operation, from wholesale suppliers and mid-level distributors to dealers who worked the streets. The office of U.S. District Attorney Carmen Ortiz said the arrests followed a 15-month federal investigation that included the use of wiretaps, confidential informants and GPS tracking data.

New York City Corrections Officers Union Scrutinized By US Attorney

[From article]
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara’s office appears to be focusing in part on claims in a union official’s lawsuit alleging the improper investment of union funds. Among the allegations in the lawsuit is that Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association President Norman Seabrook made a risky $5 million investment into an unnamed hedge fund last year without union board approval.
[. . .]
The investigation comes as Bharara negotiates a class-action lawsuit against the city claiming systemwide brutality against inmates by jail guards at the Rikers Island jail complex.
Abuse, neglect and corruption at Rikers have been the subject of increased media attention for more than a year after the AP first reported on claims of widespread brutality in the lockups and the gruesome deaths of mentally ill inmates.

Boston Gangs Kidnapping For Ransom

[From article]
A brazen gang of Dominican “joloperros,” or “stickup men,” who kidnapped a man at gunpoint in Boston for ransom and held him in Lawrence, have pleaded guilty and face long prison terms, but the feds say more gangs are preying on dealers — a dangerous game one drug cartel expert says could eventually target innocent citizens.
“They’re very sophisticated, they conduct surveillance, they’re pretty savvy at what they do,” said Vincent Lisi, special agent in charge of Boston’s FBI office, of the roving gangs of joloperros that operate under the radar in the Bay State. “The problem is that we can never say for certain that it is on the downturn because a lot of the time these guys will target other criminals and these crimes go unreported.”
The gangs “typically kidnapped drug dealers for large ransoms ... used safe houses to hold their hostages; and sometimes assaulted and burned their victims while they held them captive,” U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz said.
[. . .]
Mexican cartel kidnappings initially targeted rivals, Manjarrez said.
“Then it expanded. They would look at people in the community, bankers, businessmen. We had gangs going to honest business people and taking them off the street. Who wouldn’t pay to get their husband, or loved one back?” he said.

HSBC was charged in 2012 with helping drug dealers launder money and with illegally completing transactions for clients in Iran, Libya, Syria and other countries under U.S. economic sanctions. Vitter said he has been in touch with a whistleblower who is a former HSBC employee.
The bank entered into a settlement agreement for $1.26 billion and paid another $665 million in penalties. Vitter concedes that the fine was "significant," but suggests criminal penalties were in order.
"If Loretta Lynch and DOJ swept under the rug serious money laundering scheme involving Mexican drug cartels and terrorist organizations, we need to know a heck of a lot more about it," Vitter said. "This is especially true since American citizens may be completely unaware that their identities -- including names and social security numbers -- were compromised in this fraud. A simple monetary fine is the equivalent of a slap on the wrist, and would cast serious doubt on Ms. Lynch's capacity to serve as our top law enforcement official."

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday conducted a two-hour session with HSBC whistleblower John Cruz in its investigation of attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch’s role in the Obama administration’s decision not to prosecute the banking giant for laundering funds for Mexican drug cartels and Middle Eastern terrorists, WND sources have confirmed.

Lynch, acting then in her capacity as the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, engaged in a Department of Justice cover-up. Obama’s attorney general nominee allowed HSBC to enter into a “deferred prosecution” settlement in which the bank agreed to pay a $1.9 billion fine and admit “willful criminal conduct” in exchange for dropping criminal investigations and prosecutions of HSBC directors or employees.

Cruz argued that a $1.9 billion fine of an international bank the size of Hong Kong Shanghai Bank, the official name of HSBC, amounted to no more than “a few days operating profit.” He described it as “a cost of doing business” once HSBC had decided to launder money for international criminals.
[. . .]
Cruz was able to document a complex criminal scheme that involved wiring billions of dollars of money for Mexican drug cartels and Middle Eastern terrorists thorough thousands of bogus accounts created through identity theft. The scheme used the names and Social Security numbers of hundreds of unsuspecting current and former customers. It allegedly had the active participation of regional bank managers, branch managers and employees, as well as bank compliance officials at hundreds of HSBC locations throughout the nation. The money ultimately was wired by the bank to undisclosed bank accounts internationally.
[. . .]
Cruz explained that he no longer trusts even federal law enforcement to do their job investigating and prosecuting HSBC employees who may be involved in illegal bank transactions, as he alleges.
“It’s a circle,” Cruz explained. “I turn over the information to law enforcement, and law enforcement turns around and gives the information right back to the bank for the bank to conduct their own internal investigation.”
Cruz says he was fired by HSBC for bringing forth his charges.
“This is how the bank and employees in the bank make money,” he argued, explaining why he was fired instead of being given awards for meritorious service disclosing the suspicious activities. “It’s a lot easier to make money off fraudulent transactions than it is to make money off legal transactions.”
[. . .]
“The whole system is designed to be a culture of fraud to make it look like it’s a legal system. But it’s not.”
Cruz explained that after many repeated efforts, he gave up on the idea that HSBC senior management or bank security would pursue his allegations to investigate and stop the wrongdoing.
“My conclusion was that HSBC wasn’t going to do anything about this account, because HSBC management from the branch level, to senior bank security, to executive senior management was involved in the illegal activity I found,” he said.
[. . .]
“HSBC is a criminal organization,” he stressed. “It is a culture of crime.”
In 2011, Cruz published a book about his experience with HSBC, titled “World Banking World Fraud: Using Your Identity.”

[In addition to this new article, I received an email on February 13, 2015, with large attachments from the attorney for Mr. Slater. Actually it is from his "media team." This is a complex case with all kinds of government officials, businessmen and politicians too involved. I will add to this as I am able to understand what is going on.]

As NRO has previously reported, Lynch’s office appeared to have let self-professed criminals walk free in exchange for their cooperation, watched impassively as they committed further crimes, and intentionally kept the victims of those crimes in the dark — denying them their legal right to seek restitution.
In 2013, former federal judge Paul Cassell testified before the House Judiciary Committee, and encouraged them to look at how Lynch’s office had handled a stock fraud case.
That case involved Felix Sater, a convicted fraudster with ties to the mafia. Utah senator Orrin Hatch, a Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, asked Lynch to respond to Cassell’s testimony. He also asked whether Lynch had complied with federal laws that ensure restitution is provided to crime victims.
In a written response to Hatch obtained by NRO, Lynch replied that Sater’s cooperation with her office was crucial to national security, and declined to discuss the issue of restitution in his case:

in her time in charge of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. Lynch’s office appears to have let self-professed criminals walk free in exchange for their cooperation with her office, watched impassively as they committed further crimes, and intentionally kept the victims of those crimes in the dark — denying them their chance to seek tens or hundreds of millions of dollars in restitution in direct contravention of federal law.
[. . .]
Though he didn’t mention Lynch by name, Cassell alleged that her office had failed to comply with important provisions of the Crime Victims’ Rights Act and the Mandatory Victims Restitution Act. The provisions require federal prosecutors to notify victims of criminal proceedings against those who wronged them, so as to guarantee them their legal right to pursue full and timely restitution against the accused. According to Cassell’s testimony, the restitution in question amounted to over $40 million.
[. . .]
Felix Sater — later revealed to be the “Doe” to whom the case refers — pleaded guilty to federal money-laundering and fraud charges in a RICO case, admitting that he had artificially inflated the price of stock he bought cheaply, defrauding investors and reaping millions of dollars in profit for himself. Then Sater, who has well-documented connections to the Mafia, apparently leveraged those connections to strike a deal.
In exchange for the government’s protection in keeping his case sealed and secret, the New York Times reported in 2007, Sater may have worked with the CIA, offering to purchase a dozen missiles from Osama bin Laden on the black market. He also reportedly provided evidence against the Mafia. When Sater was eventually convicted in 2009, the government argued vociferously for leniency on his behalf at sentencing, and he served no time behind bars.
[. . .]
Oberlander alleges that after the government set Sater free with a slap on the wrist, he went right back to conning unsuspecting innocents. According to Oberlander’s suit, Sater managed to build up a real-estate company, find investors, and secure funding from banks without disclosing his criminal past, and proceeded to defraud new victims of millions of dollars. Lynch then fought to keep the details of Sater’s case secret, despite having issued a press release trumpeting his role in the crime for which he was convicted at the beginning of her first tenure as U.S. attorney.
[. . .]
Cassell, the former federal judge, tells NRO that he spoke out because he had the sense that the people involved — the prosecutors and the judge in Sater’s case — thought it was outrageous for the victims to expect that they would actually get their money back. “This case has what I would call a ‘business as usual’ feel to it, which leads me to think this is not a one-off, idiosyncratic kind of thing,” Cassell says. “It clearly looks like there’s the potential for this to be going on in a lot of other cases, and the problem of course is that since these cases are sealed, there’s no way for the victims to find out what’s happening, there’s no way for Congress to monitor how often this is being used.”
[. . .]
she may be even more dangerous than Holder because of her restrained personality, which he worries will deflect attention from some of the Justice Department’s more outrageous actions.
[. . .]
former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell. Powell sees disturbing parallels between Holder’s mishandling of the Fast and Furious scandal — in which the DOJ’s indifference allowed American guns to end up as weapons used by drug cartels against American citizens — and the conduct of Lynch’s office in looking the other way while cooperating criminals harmed more unsuspecting and innocent people.

FBI Uses False FBI Files to Establish That Bulger is an Informant

James Bulger, On Trial June 2013 For 19 Homicides

Bulger denies he is/was an informant. Government introduces 300 page file about his being an informant. The files show as reported in four or five books about this case that the FBI handler would file fake reports about crime.  Bulger would accuse his enemies of murders which he committed. He would deny that his allies committed any crimes. The FBI agent, now in Florida prison convicted of homicide,  would write reports repeating what Bulger told him. Now the government uses the same reports to establish that he was an informant.  How reliable are these files? And what about other files of the FBI and police agencies. Was it only one FBI agent who had the idea to write fake reports? AH-Hem!

Aaron Swartz's Suicide and Blame

[Updated January 20, 2013 10:35 PM ET
Updated January 21, 2013 2:50 PM ET]

Parents and attorneys blame the US Attorney in Boston for the suicide of Aaron Swartz (see below stories). They say it was a wrongful or malicious prosecution. Is this unique? What about the four white men prosecuted for a murder they did not commit? They were targeted by special agents of the Boston office of the FBI who knew they were innocent; and allowed one of their charming informants, Joseph “The Animal” Barbooza, to lie under oath to get the convictions. The four innocent men were sentenced to death. Two of the men Henry Tameleo, Louis Greco, died in prison after the death penalty was repealed in Massachusetts. Two, Joe Salvati and Peter Limone,  were released after 30 years. Why weren't the prosecutors and the FBI agents vilified in the media? It 's not that I disagree with the lamentations of the parents and attorneys, but I just don't understand the differences.

When US Attorneys in Boston refused to protect witnesses who reported crimes by Boston Irish American crime boss, James "Whitey" Bulger, why weren't they vilified? Bulger awaiting trial 20 years later, allegedly murdered 19 people, some of those who sought FBI protection. One of those US Attorneys went on to be Governor of Massachusetts. Others became US Judges. What about the hundreds if not thousands of young men (and women?) who are prosecuted, convicted and put into prison for crimes they did not commit? Because they did not kill themselves no officials are vilified and blamed for the harms done to the individuals and to their families? What about the many young men and women who kill themselves after being arrested and held for arraignment? One woman petitioned the Cambridge police for years to learn why her son  killed himself in a city holding cell. The police were uncooperative.

At least all of them were extended due process protections including Mr. Swartz. They knew the charges against them and were able to defend themselves in a court with attorneys who helped them defend themselves. Swartz had a woman friend who assisted him.

For 40 years so far government thugs and private yahoos conducted and conduct relentless character assassination followed by punishment for the allegations. Local police and FBI informants participate with the absence of Notice, no Due Process, no Trial. Just non stop harassment. Many of the charming omniscient Harvard University students and their delightful campus cops join in. Some encourage me to kill myself. I refuse to do them or their employers the favor of ending my life. It costs them money and manpower to continue the criminal abuses and to cover up their crimes.

They disturb my sleep every day every two hours sometimes every one hour. Sometimes they keep me awake for 8 hours when I try to sleep. They put drugs in my foods contrary to law. Psychiatrists and psychologists employ sophisticated techniques to try to provoke violence and to make me insane. They use Communists who work with crime families to try to cause me to have a heart attack or a stroke. Local and state politicians join in the abuses.

So why is Aaron Swartz's suicide a higher priority than all of the other government abuses? The current US Attorney General and the President ignore the Constitution violating their oaths of offices. They enforce laws in a racist manner and yet they are praised by journalists and their colleagues among the elected criminal class. But also why the focus on the US Attorney? Why not on the criminal politicians who allegedly wrote the laws? Is the problem that these spineless egoists who run for office have no clue about what is in the bills that they make into laws? The monster (2700 pages) health care bill was passed into law without any of the 535 members of Congress or the President having read it. The so called fiscal cliff bill passed into law on January 1, 2013 was also unread and un-scrutinized. Politicians regularly pass laws which they have no time or interest to read. Journalists blame the officials who are paid, whose job it is to enforce those laws? Never mind the generalities passed into law allowing unelected bureaucrats to make the details up which often are counterproductive and lead to unintended consequences like suicide. Is this a public relations effort by the crime family which Bulger ran to discredit the US Attorney who is prosecuting him for homicides? Ever notice how so many journalists coincidently are now focused on one alleged mistake by a US prosecutor?

But for me the beat goes on every day  24/7, 365, and 366 on leap years. When one of the psychopaths get burned out from tormenting a white male with a legal disability over 60 years they bring in fresh blood and start it all over again and again. Always a psychopath or a cop or a superintendent disturbing my sleep tampering with US Mail, telephones and computer communications. Most of the time the primary harassers are from the three high priority victim groups. Black people, women and homosexuals. They even use illegal aliens on occasion. That is how crime families work to defer accountability. Black people are victims, and they are moral people. Women are victims, and moral people. Homosexuals are victims, and moral. They would not attack a vulnerable person. A white male? They are all guilty. Who sets the priorities? Who determines what laws get enforced and who gets prosecuted? Who decides who is allowed Due Process and who is allowed to defend themselves? Who decides who gets used as a human subject for medical research without consent?

Government psychiatrists working at prominent universities drugged me in 1973, using hallucinogens for 80 consecutive days without consent. They broadcast three cover stories for what they did. "He's a drug addict." "He had a nervous breakdown." "Teenagers put PCP in marijuana." That effectively ended any chance for a life. For the next 39 years police, crime families, FBI, Communists, did whatever they wanted to do, including but not limited to trying to kill me and trying to get me to kill myself. Relentless character assassination, and harassment. Were any of these psychiatrists vilified in the media?

In 1990 after I wrote to two local chiefs of police complaining about police harassment, the Cambridge, MA police arrested me, and held me for 78 days contrary to law. The lawyers paid to defend me were also paid not to defend me. A woman I dated for three months when I was a student in law school and her FBI  informant husband broadcast relentless character assassination for 30 years saying "He's a retired drug dealer." That was joined by FBI character assassination, "He's a racist." Ah yes. A racist drug dealer in New York. "I'm sorry. I only sell to white people." Yea. Uh Huh. And there is much more to tell. Aaron, you rest in  peace. You hear?

FBI Covering Its Behind

The FBI statement is self serving at best, accurate, not so much. For 15 years of my life (surely not the only one) the FBI used me to fight organized crime in three states, using me as fodder without compensation. Then they abandoned me, encouraged crime families to retaliate, and participated in a continuing program of brutality, surveillance, harassment and extreme character assassination for 22 years. This is an ongoing abomination in Cambridge with local, state, Harvard campus, and US police agencies; with state and US prosecutors acquiescing. The FBI is trying to cover its behind. They are in bed with the criminals and refuse to address crimes by attorneys and politicians. They are the root of the ills of the nation. With a racist US Attorney General, a weak FBI Director, and citizens who share their relaxed rectitude there is no will to end the criminal abuses of the FBI.

[From FBI statement]
"the FBI does everything possible to protect the identity of those who courageously assist us in thwarting criminal activity. The FBI takes seriously its responsibility to protect those individuals from harm, and to protect their privacy. To do otherwise would have a chilling effect upon future cooperation by the public.”

FBI, Globe History of Thwarting Clean Government

The Boston Globe shows its typical lack of common sense saying "the [Boston] FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office did not raise concerns about the tipster’s safety after a Globe reporter told them the paper was considering naming her." You think? The Boston FBI has a long prominent history of exposing civilians who reported serious crimes by the Bulger crime family. Many of them were killed by the Bulger crime family which indicates there may be a connection between the Globe leadership and the Bulger organization. Does the Globe join the FBI promoting the fantasy there were only two members of that gang? The hundreds of associates remain active in the Boston area. How many Globe employees are associates? The US Attorneys have the same interests as the FBI in silencing anyone who may expose their negligence, if not their complicity with the many years of criminal activity and corruption of the Massachusetts local, state and US agencies. Hear that loud silence from public officials and the faculties at the five Boston law schools, and the government schools in Boston?

FBI Show Business As Usual; Corruption Reigns

The two articles (Harvey Silverglate, "Whitey Bulger and the Feds," page 10, and David Boeri, "Hollow Justice," Page 11, Boston Phoenix, October 5, 2011) explain that John Durham, the special prosecutor brought in to "clean up" the Boston FBI cesspool, was a company man and did his job of convicting one man. Silverglate raises the obvious question about the dedication of the current US Attorney to convict Bulger. Boeri questions the usual lack of diligence of the FBI director to clean house.

It is nonsense and irrational to think (1) that only one FBI agent was able to corrupt local and state police officers and many politicians who remain silent to this day; and (2) that Bulger and Flemmi ran the rackets in Boston alone. Hundreds of associates remain active operating the same dirty businesses that Bulger and the FBI ran and protected. Clueless taxpayers are mislead by politicians, police and journalists who promote a fantasy reality.

Without bright lights on all the government mechanisms in MA, criminals will continue to control the state. Institutional wholesale theft, abuses of the criminal justice system and homicides will go unpunished. Only defense attorney Anthony Cardinale who made the original motion before Judge Wolf recognized and exposed the abuses of the FBI informant program. Cardinale says the upper echelon informant program was shut down.

But the same criminal abuses continue among the Witness Security program. Criminals with changed names and protected by the FBI and the US Marshals run criminal enterprises with no accountability. FBI agents and their criminal witnesses target vulnerable civilians. The focus of Bulger and the Boston FBI was to eliminate Italian crime families to allow Bulger and his Irish acolytes to control the Boston rackets.

The upper levels of the FBI and the Dept. of Justice are no less corrupt. How many US Attorneys in the 1980s are now judges and high level FBI supervisors in DC? The cesspool will never be cleaned up without a citizen commission with subpoena power. Why is Harvard Law School, The Harvard School of Government and the other four law schools in Boston and the other government schools silent about this abomination of thorough government pollution?

Ken Burns says Fiorello LaGuardia knew it would take 250,000 officers to police the 250,000 officers needed to stop illegal alcohol in New York City. According to the same PBS feature, Boston had hardly any crime during Prohibition. There was no mention of the major Boston bootlegger, Joseph P. Kennedy father of the President and US senators. Hello? Anybody home?
