Journalists Publish Propaganda For White House

[From article]
Some of the most disturbing aspects of the times in which we are living include the utter corruption of the mass print and broadcast media and the lack of awareness of this fact by a large portion of the public.
It seems that most Americans operate on the assumption that the media is making a good-faith, if imperfect, effort at objectively informing its audience. That so few are genuinely aware of the outrageous manipulation of public opinion now taking place is the single greatest threat to the republic, to the extent that we can even say that our republic still exists. A glaring example of this would be the treatment of Nixon 42 years ago over Watergate compared with the treatment of Obama today over any one of several far worse scandals.
It was recently reported in the WSJ that Obama used the NSA to spy on Congress during the deliberations related to the Iran nuclear deal. It was reported on at one time, but this story has now disappeared completely from media coverage. Consider the implications.
In the former case, Nixon apparently directed or sat by and knowingly let his immediate subordinates direct a third-rate burglary of the campaign headquarters of an election opponent. In the latter case, Obama authorized one of the most sophisticated intelligence-gathering organizations in the world to spy on American legislators, en masse, in pursuit of the most important – and egregiously flawed – international agreement impacting American national security and world stability – namely, with the chief sponsor of international terrorism: the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This is a thousand times worse than Watergate! Where is the media? Where are today's equivalents of Woodward and Bernstein? The media doesn't focus on this outrage at all, so to the overwhelming majority of the public, it is as though this never even happened. And this is only one of several comparable scandals we could name.
Another case of the selective focus of our mass media took place in 2009. Barack Hussein Obama said publicly that the U.S. is "not a Christian nation" and that America is "one of the world's foremost Muslim countries."
These statements amount to utter lunacy in a country in which at least 70% self-identify as Christians, where Christian holidays are official national holidays, and where Muslims number, at most, three to four million out of a population of over 330 million. This provoked not even a whimper of incredulity by the mass media. Then, in 2012, during an unintentional "open mic" moment, we overheard Obama making assurances to Russian president Medvedev that once he was able to get past the election, he would have "more flexibility."

Here we have a sitting U.S. president apparently ready to make some huge concession to America's most important major power rival on the world stage, a concession so drastic that it apparently couldn't even be revealed until after the election. And the media did not hound him over this.
Could one imagine a President Nixon, or a President Reagan, making such a statement during arms control negotiations with the USSR and the media simply giving it a pass? But that Donald Trump, he says such "crazy" things...and that Ted Cruz, he's a "religious fanatic." Why! just look at all the terrible things Trump and Cruz say about one another.
The media focus is entirely on setting the major GOP candidates against each other, in order to tarnish their images – letting the candidates themselves do the actual tarnishing, while not giving even a fraction of their coverage to the Democratic contest between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders or their actual qualifications to be president.
How many journalists in the mass media have focused on the fact that despite having held positions such as senator from New York and secretary of state, Hillary Clinton has not even one major positive accomplishment she can name?
And what about Hillary and Bill Clinton's foundation, which has amounted to little more than a money-laundering, influence-peddling racket aimed at amassing a vast campaign war chest funded by numerous foreign interests? Or that Hillary's amply documented mishandling of highly classified information likely represents the greatest breach of trust by a cabinet-level government official in U.S. history?
Does the disgrace of Benghazi, the brutal loss of a U.S. ambassador, mean anything to anyone in the media? Does it even count for a fraction of the consternation eighteen years ago over a stain on a dress?
How about the qualifications of Bernie Sanders, who did not so much as earn a regular paycheck until he was 40, who ran for Congress while collecting unemployment, who supported himself for a time writing about masturbation and rape fantasies for leftist publications, who has served in Congress for 25 years without having written even one piece of legislation that ever passed?
Who, in the national-level print and broadcast mass media, is giving more than scant attention, if any, to these issues? Instead, we are hearing endlessly about Trump's latest gaffe, or the latest smear against Trump by the Cruz campaign, or sleazy allegations about Cruz's personal life, etc.
As an illustration of the power of today's mass media to shape public opinion, one might consider the first time Obama experienced a major drop in his approval ratings. This was early in his second term, during the rollout of Obamacare, and proved to be such an unmitigated and obvious disaster that the mass media had no choice but to report on it honestly and across the board.
Obama's poll numbers suffered dramatically, and in short order, all over this one debacle. One might imagine how his presidency might be viewed if so many other debacles, often of an even more serious nature, received comparable treatment. But this has not happened.
Thus, in such an environment, is it any wonder that despite presiding over the most anemic economic growth experienced under a two-term president since WW2, the lowest labor force participation rate in over 35 years, a more than doubling of the national debt, and the most catastrophic decline in America's stature and prestige on the world stage under one president in the whole of our history, Obama's approval ratings incredibly still hover around 50%?
Add to that not one, but several major scandals that by themselves would likely have sparked impeachment hearings under any previous president. This is clearly the result of a mass media that is as controlled, literally, as what we saw in the Cold War-era Soviet Union – except that in the old USSR, people knew the media was peddling nonsense, so they took it with a big grain of salt.
Here, people aren't fully aware of the extent of the corruption. In terms of degree, this is a relatively recent phenomenon, so their guard is down. The individual exercise of independent critical thinking, the commonsense skepticism that would be needed to counter this, is largely absent, since there is no perceived need to make this effort, even on the part of people who consider themselves "informed."
For these reasons, the fear and expectation have to be that the American public are now being herded by the media into electing Hillary...or even Bernie.
May God help us all.

Cambridge, MA City Councilor Cozies Up To Harvard University PR Flack

Harvard's PR flack, whose mission is to protect the image of his client, says with City Councilor Devereux, the relationship of Harvard with the City is "amicable." That translates into see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Violations of city, state and US laws are ignored due to Obama-Holder doctrine, which makes inconvenient laws optional; but also the special "amicable" relationship. Devereux adds “Cambridge really doesn’t have a say when dealing with Allston-Brighton," But that never stops this wide ranging, jurisdiction free, council from opining on labor issues from Oakland, California to the Doubletree Hotel in Allston owned by Harvard. The new councilor fits right in with the relaxed rectitude of the council.

[From article]
Devereux and Lucey each described an amicable relationship between the city and Harvard in recent years, striking a different tone than in years past.
“In the old days, in some cases there was more friction,” Devereux said. “At the moment there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of town-gown friction with Harvard specifically.”

New York Times Cleanses Unflattering Comments By White House

[From article]
Who needs a White House press secretary when The New York Times will cover for the president, no questions asked?
That’s what the Times did Thursday, deleting from a story one of the most atrocious things President Obama has ever said.
[. . .]
Obama, the Times reported online, “indicated that he did not see enough cable television to fully appreciate the anxiety after the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, and made clear that he plans to step up his public arguments. Republicans were telling Americans that he is not doing anything when he is doing a lot, he said.”
What? The president of the United States of America didn’t realize how people felt in the wake of two terror attacks because he doesn’t watch enough news?
Pathetic as that excuse is, far worse is that the Times soon removed the passage from its online story, and kept it out of Friday’s print version.
[. . .]
Exactly what does the Times mean these days by “all the news that’s fit to print”?

Harvard University School of Government Studies Propaganda Elsewhere. Nothing To See In This Country. Ahem!

Ensor said. “We’re in the era of Russia Today and CCTV and PressTV in Iran—these are real challenges, how to respond to some of the often inaccurate information that is on them and widely disseminated.” Which media watch group is having any effect correcting the false, misleading, literally fantastic speech emanating daily from the White House, the Department of Justice, the FBI and other agencies of the allegedly free government of the United States of America? How many local taxpayer funded stations, e.g., WGBH-TV broadcast propaganda in support of the federal fantasies? How many false narratives do faculty at the prestigious Harvard University JFK School of Government support and protect? What is the mission of the many PR flacks employed at Harvard University?

One more indication that public officials need adult supervision. They show their inability to adjust their behavior to conform with the law. They abuse their power acting like children. Add misguided journalists who worship these infantile officials and you get an idea why so many problems remain unsolved, and are only getting worse.

Freundlich worked on both of President Obama’s White House campaigns and served as the communications director for the Iowa Democratic Party.

Updated: Massachusetts Gaming Commission Meets In Secret. PR Flack Assures Voters It Is Legal. Wynn Threatens To Sue Mayor Walsh

Posted July 6, 2015 9:00 PM ET; Last updated July 7, 2015 7:42 PM ET

[From article]
In its lawsuit against the Gaming Commission, the city issued subpoenas to eight current and former state police, alleging that troopers assigned to an investigation of Charles Lightbody gave former staties now working as private detectives for Wynn information about the
investigation in the “wire-tap room” at the attorney general’s office.
The Walsh administration yesterday stood by the claims in its motions seeking subpoenas. “We dispute the assertions in the letter and we firmly stand
behind the allegations in the amended complaint,” said Laura Oggeri, the mayor’s spokeswoman.
Lightbody, a convicted felon with mob ties, had an interest in the land Wynn Resorts is planning to use for a casino in Everett. The city sued the Gaming Commission seeking host city status, which could force a renewed license process.
Wynn has denied hiring the former troopers. The judge handling the case agreed to delay the subpoenas until after a hearing on a Gaming Commission motion to dismiss the case.

“Commissioners discuss social matters, organizational structure and morale,” Driscoll said. “The commissioners do not discuss any matter that constitutes public business within the jurisdiction of the commission.”
But former Inspector General Greg Sullivan of the Pioneer Institute said he found that hard to believe.
“You can only talk about Tom Brady and ‘Deflategate’ for so long,” Sullivan told the Herald. “Eventually, the conversation probably drifts around to the subject of Massachusetts gaming.”
At least one commissioners’ lunch even featured a special guest — Frank Fahrenkopf, who had stepped down as president of the American Gaming Association one year before he met for 90 minutes with the MGC on Oct. 22, 2014.
[. . .]

Sullivan told the Herald the Gaming Commission’s structure — where the commissioners all work out of the same office — is a problem.
“It’s vulnerable to violations of the Open Meeting Law because of the design of the agency and the decisions the Legislature made,” said Sullivan. “It’s an inherently problematic situation because of the extremely unusual arrangement whereby the commissioners are full-time employees that work in the same building.”
Some of the datebook information the Herald requested could not be produced.
Stebbins’ calendar from March 2012 through the end of 2013 was “unavailable due to technical issues caused by his BlackBerry,” the MGC told the Herald.

Muslim PR Flack Denies Growth of Muslim Terror

Here is a creative propaganda account of terrorist acts, using statistics. The system used to make his case is something like, "Let's count the number of terrorist acts by Muslim terrorists. How many of them were Muslim?" Um, all of them? He says none of them. In the years leading up to the National Socialist Party in Germany electing Adolf Hitler chancellor in 1933, the usual propaganda was they were only a few extremists. No need to worry about them. Here a Muslim propagandist denies that Muslims are Muslims, if they commit an act of terror in the name of Islam. Then they become non Islamist. That is his logic. Good for him. There are dumbed down Americans who will believe what he says.

Jon Stewart Running PR Narrative To Protect White House?

[From article]
Israel does not and never has arrested or slain anyone for cartoons. Including Palestinians. And if Stewart’s staff writers evidently know nothing about the caricatures that have bedeviled Jews for the past 100 years, unabated today in Der Sturmer-like precincts of the insanity-tinged Muslim knuckledraggers, the cartoons that have ceaselessly attacked Jews have been unremitting in their vileness, far surpassing anything Hebdo ever attempted. And Jews are subject 24/7 to these scurrilous and defamatory etchings, alluding to Israel as nazi-ish, as evil, as drinking blood, and all sorts of astonishing rubbish.
For Jewish Jon to add to the vilification of Jews and Israel when we have just sustained the horrific murder of four wholly innocent shoppers chosen because they were of Jewish descent is unconscionable.
[. . .]
My guess is that Stewart was proactively undercutting crit of the boho president for not attending the march, which struck the world as abdicating the usual and rightful leadership role of the U.S. -- a role Obumbler has clearly told us he’s not fond of and won’t be booster to. The march was dopey, says Stewart, so Obama’s disgraceful failure to show up or send someone to stand in for the hegemon of the globe wasn’t so atrocious.

Massachsuetts Governor Leaving Office Leaves Behind Cadre of Taxpayer Funded PR Flacks, Poorer Taxpayers

The MA Governor shared PR guru David Axelrod with the White House. Both administrations favored spending taxpayer money on PR flacks over solving human problems and helping people. Well, vulnerable people. They had no inhibitions helping wealthy and powerful people. It shows how misguided these politicians are. The most uninformed and greedy people support both politicians. They favor keeping people ignorant and misled so that they cannot understand what they need to do. Jonathan Gruber revealed their attitude toward ordinary voters and taxpayers. Propaganda rules through taxpayer funded deceivers.

[From article]
As he walks out of the State House today, Gov. Deval Patrick leaves taxpayers not just a big budget deficit and a broken health care website but an army of more than 50 public relations flacks costing millions, according to records obtained by the Herald.
The Patrick administration’s press and communications team is spread throughout the governor’s office, departments and agencies — some so obscure taxpayers may not even recognize them — whose primary job was to make the governor look good.
The PR team under the executive branch, which had been slashed in half by former Gov. Mitt Romney in 2003, has been beefed up again by Patrick during his eight-year tenure, according to payroll and other records reviewed by the Herald.
One of the quasi-public agencies created by Patrick, the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, has a highly paid marketing and communications chief, Angus McQuilken, a Democrat who lost a state Senate race to Scott Brown 10 years ago. McQuilken is now doing just fine, thank you, earning $144,000 a year to promote Patrick’s life sciences agency.

I came to Boston to host a talk show about the same time he began running for governor. In that eight years he turned down every single request to come on my show and debate his ideas — despite the fact we were often in the same studio together at WTKK.
Some suggested he feared a tough interview. I don’t think so. I think he and his key handler David Axelrod are true believers in “base” politics: get your people to the polls, keep your faction whipped up, and forget the middle, the swing voters, altogether. It’s the same style of politics practiced by Axelrod’s other client, Barack Obama.
[. . .]
When he took office, the average household income was higher than it is today. Which means that we, the people, are poorer.
At the same time, government’s income has jumped from $26 billion to $36 billion — almost 40 percent. Beacon Hill has never been richer.

Cambridge, MA Police Spokesman Continues to Misinform Public

Jeremy Warnick, Cambridge Police Spin Doctor

[Previous post about Mr. Warnick at this link]

http://enoughroom.blogspot.com/2014/09/police-official-suggests-cambridge-man.html

“'Like we do with Harvard and with MIT and with state police, if there’s a situation in which they require or request support, [CPD] will assist right away,' [Cambridge Police spokesman] Warnick said." Is the Cambridge police spokesman confused or clueless? HUPD has jurisdiction to enforce state laws on Harvard University property. Is the street outside of 1300 Massachusetts Avenue Harvard property? Is it possible that the Cambridge police spokesman (AKA spin doctor), like many Harvard University affiliates, is unaware of the limited jurisdiction of the HUPD? Last time I heard from Mr. Warnick, he was making psychiatric diagnoses, and cause of death determinations without the state medical examiner. Amazing the wealth of misinformation Mr. Warnick shares.

Why Listen to PR Flacks Telling Us About Ebola?

Here is another PR flack making medical diagnoses and claiming that ebola cannot be transmitted through the air. If that is true why are the people who transport suspected carriers of ebola dressed like spacemen and the infected person covered up in a cocoon?

[From article]
Spokesman Josh Earnest said that current anti-Ebola measures, which include screenings in West African airports and observation of passengers in the United States, will be sufficient to prevent the “wide spread” of the virus.
The chances of a U.S. epidemic are “incredibly low,” he said.
“The reason for that is that it is not possible to transmit Ebola through the air. ... The only way that an individual can contract Ebola is by coming into contact with the bodily fluids of someone who is exhibiting symptoms.”

Updated: Communications Chief For ISIS Attended Cambridge MA Mosque; Mosque Denies Report

Posted September 7, 2014 8:58 PM ET; Last updated September 9, 2014 9:06 PM ET

Some major names in terrorism, including the Boston Marathon Bombers and the man behind the ISIS beheadings, have worshipped at the Islamic Society of Boston, located in Cambridge, Mass. Photo: Douglas Healey

Update September 9, 2014

[From article]
The executive director of the Islamic Society of Boston is denying media reports that a Stoughton man suspected of helping to run social media for ISIS worshipped at the society’s Cambridge mosque.
“To our knowledge Ahmad Abousamra never came to our mosque and has absolutely no connection,” Yusufi Vali, the executive director of the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, told the Herald yesterday.
[. . .]
Some media outlets, including the New York Post and CNN, reported yesterday that Abousamra had worshipped at the same Cambridge mosque as other extremists, including accused Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev; Abdurahman Alamoudi — the mosque’s founder — who was sentenced for conspiring with Libya and plotting to assassinate a Saudi prince; Aafia Siddiqui, now in prison for planning a chemical weapons attack in New York; and Tarek Mehanna, who’s serving time for conspiring to shoot up a mall with automatic weapons.
In a statement, the Islamic Society called the Post report “a sensationalist article about our mosque full of many half-truths and inaccuracies” and claimed it was never contacted for comment. But it admitted others did attend.
“As far as we know, some of the people mentioned by the NYPost may have prayed at the Cambridge mosque at one time or another, just as they most likely shopped at grocery stores in Central Square, bought coffee from the nearby Dunkin’ Donuts and withdrew and deposited funds at local banks, activities they surely engaged in many more times than they prayed at the mosque,” the statement reads.
It also said the mosque doesn’t exclude anyone and doesn’t check IDs, and it “unequivocally condemns ISIS.”

Mosque denies ties to suspected ISIS techie

Image of Mosque on Prospect Street, in Cambridge MA, a few blocks from City Hall. The suspect in the Boston marathon bombing also attended this mosque. No one in Cambridge was watching, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the young man killed in a shootout with Massachusetts police in nearby Watertown MA. No police, no FBI, no crime family associates, no Harvard University campus police or their building superintendents. The priorities for those organizations is to focus on a 70-year-old white male citizen who was used by the FBI to fight organized crime for 15 years. They did not pay him. That was after government psychiatrists drugged him for 80 consecutive days contrary to law. He was not under the care of any psychiatrist, or psychologist. There was no court order to permit such poisoning as per the state criminal statute. He never volunteered for any medical research project as a human subject. During subsequent years the FBI coordinated a relentless character assassination campaign, harassment and 24/7 surveillance, which continues today. None of the individuals mentioned in the below article were subjected too any intense criminal abuses of power, even with their links too terror groups. It explains why there is widespread dissatisfaction with politicians and journalists. It also raises questions about the lack of questions for local and state officials who waste taxpayer funds harassing harmless citizens.

[From article]
When it was revealed that the Boston Marathon bombers attended a Cambridge, Mass., mosque, its leaders were quick to disavow their actions.
Elder brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev
’s ideology was not their own, the leaders of the Islamic Society mosque claimed. In fact, he was admonished for an extremist outburst he made during one sermon.
So, one crackpot in a congregation. Who can blame the mosque?
But what about eight — including a prominent member of ISIS?
[. . .]
Now it can be revealed that another regular worshipper at the Islamic Society mosque was Ahmad Abousamra, who is now the top propagandist for ISIS.
[. . .]
The FBI says Abousamra, 32, traveled to Pakistan and Yemen to train to kill Americans while enrolled at Boston colleges. He justified murdering civilians because “they paid taxes to support the government and were kufar [nonbelievers],”

VA Hospital Abuse Continues With Increased Government PR Deceptions

[From article]
What these entrenched government employees care most about, above all else, is the business of spin and stonewalling.
The VA mouthpieces are preoccupied with covering their ample bureaucratic backsides, withholding data, monitoring critics, fending off watchdogs and running constant interference for their corrupt, negligent agency.
[. . .]

It was in the course of probing those monitoring efforts that Krause discovered that "the VA Public Affairs thinks my website is 'anti-VA' instead of 'pro-Veteran' and is using viewpoint-centric censoring within its FOIA office," he told me.
[. . .]
As of last week, the VA was sitting on nearly 100 separate requests for information from the House panel. Sixty-eight of those requests have been pending for more than 60 days. There are three outstanding requests from 2012.
[. . .]
Stonewalling Congress, the press and the public has become a way of life at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where entrenched bureaucrats play semantic games in an attempt to mislead.
[. . .]
Whether ordinary taxpayer or congressional investigator, truth-seekers are apparently treated the same by the VA spin patrol: as nuisances and threats to their power and comfort.

FBI Hires Private PR Surveillance Firm To Search For Negative Stories About The Bureau

Plenty of negative stories about the FBI on this blog. Will books be included in their search and surveillance? Does the FBI believe, as Hamas does, that if they can censor all negative stories people will have good feelings about the FBI as they do for Hamas? FBI officials wouldn’t even reveal how they will go about assigning the grades, which were laid out in a recent contract solicitation. If the continued existence of mathematics depended on the ability of the Republicans to defend the proposition that two plus two equals four, that would probably mean the end of mathematics and of all the things that require mathematics.

Boehner was not unique in having a blind spot when it comes to recognizing the importance of articulation and the need to put some serious time and effort into presenting your case in a way that people outside the Beltway would understand. On the contrary, he has been all too typical of Republican leaders in recent decades.

Sympathy For The Liar

[From article]
Ever since I learned as a teenager that the Saturday Evening Post magazine was actually published on Wednesday mornings, I have been very skeptical about words. “Gun control” laws do not control guns, “rent control” laws do not control rent, and government “stimulus” spending does not stimulate the economy.

President Obama’s denial of knowledge about the various scandals in his administration that are coming to light suggests that his titles should now include Innocent-Bystander-in-Chief.

When Attorney General Eric Holder argued that a “path to citizenship” for illegal immigrants was a “civil right” and a “human right,” he epitomized the contempt for the public’s intelligence that has characterized so much of what has been said and done by the Obama administration.

Despite political differences, it is hard not to feel sorry for White House press secretary Jay Carney for all the absurdities his job requires him to say with a straight face. What is he going to do when this administration is over? Wear a disguise, change his name, or be put into a witness-protection program?

Brick Sidewalks Are Dangerous for Walkers

These images of bricks are not from Cambridge but do indicate some of the problems.

This letter is written by a PR flack, without identifying her client. (Diane Beck, LETTER: "Reverse the degradation of our sidewalks in Cambridge, " Cambridge Chronicle, May 25, 2013) Is it the National Bricklayer's Association which sent a letter to the City Council arguing for continuing brick sidewalks? The arguments in this letter do not make sense. Brick sidewalks are aesthetically pleasing. But they are dangerous and make the lives of persons who use wheelchairs unpleasant. Moving along a brick sidewalk makes the chair bump along disturbing the person's organs. It is not healthy. For women who use strollers it is a dangerous passage. Many young mothers use the streets. Mail carriers hate the brick side walks as do the parking enforcement officers who have to walk on them. Lovers of bricks are not city walkers. I walk almost everywhere. I hate the bricks. Missing bricks make for potential broken bones. Uneven bricks make for a difficult pull for groceries on a wagon or when pulling suitcases. If you only walk to your car you will not have any trouble on brick sidewalks. For the walkers of the city they are an abomination and more difficult to maintain than concrete.  But where diversity does not matter it is enforced allowing residents to decide how they want their sidewalks in front of their property. Diversity of ideas is verboten in Cambridge.
