Cambridge Police Spokesman Jeremy Warnick wears many hats. About this incident he reveals, "The assailant will likely receive a minimum charge of Assault and Battery and Unarmed Robbery if caught," Previously Mr. Warnick made psychiatric diagnoses (psychiatrist), determination of cause of death (medical examiner), and now he is deciding what crimes to charge the suspect. Isn't that the job of police officers?

“'Like we do with Harvard and with MIT and with state police, if there’s a situation in which they require or request support, [CPD] will assist right away,' [Cambridge Police spokesman] Warnick said." Is the Cambridge police spokesman confused or clueless? HUPD has jurisdiction to enforce state laws on Harvard University property. Is the street outside of 1300 Massachusetts Avenue Harvard property? Is it possible that the Cambridge police spokesman (AKA spin doctor), like many Harvard University affiliates, is unaware of the limited jurisdiction of the HUPD? Last time I heard from Mr. Warnick, he was making psychiatric diagnoses, and cause of death determinations without the state medical examiner. Amazing the wealth of misinformation Mr. Warnick shares.

The VA mouthpieces are preoccupied with covering their ample bureaucratic backsides, withholding data, monitoring critics, fending off watchdogs and running constant interference for their corrupt, negligent agency.

Misleading Watergate Bits of Information

Even after 39 years journalists continue to spin the facts about Watergate. According to the book, Silent Coup, by Len Colodny and Robert Getlin, John Dean obtained approval for the Watergate break-in from President Nixon and his Attorney, General John N. Mitchell, by telling each of them that the other approved it. The objective according to this perspective was to get an address book from the DNC offices which had Dean's girl friend's name, Maureen Biner, now his wife's, phone number in it. The important campaign strategy was always kept at the candidate's headquarters not the DNC, so it was one of many misleading focuses that the objective was campaign strategy. The US political parties issue so much propaganda it is extremely difficult for voters to know what exactly is going on. Lies, lies and more lies except for the propaganda and lies, is what we all get. Too many voters are fooled by the trash that passes for information. Watergate is one of the many false narratives that made it into the history books. Woodward and Bernstein are celebrated as geniuses who uncovered this scandal. But all they did was write what a disgruntled FBI agent told them revealing FBI documents to them. Woodward was a briefer for the Joint Chiefs of Staff before he was a journalist. He had access to the highest levels of government before he was a reporter. He denied he knew Gen. Alexander Haig. Like Obama, Woodward lives a prominent life based on lies. Some people have no shame.

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California , was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Congressman Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory:

On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'

So Judy recently e-mailed Congressman Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.

Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:

"Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."

Independent journalists in Australia studied 2,203 news stories in ten different hard-copy Australian newspapers over a five day work week and found that nearly 55 percent of the stories analyzed were driven by some form of public relations. The most extreme paper was the Daily Telegraph, in which 70% of stories were triggered by some form of PR. The Sydney Morning Herald was the best at "only" 42 percent PR-driven stories. Journalists and editors explained the results by saying they are busier than ever, under-resourced, on deadline and under pressure. Many refused to even talk to the reporters investigating this story. Others who did talk asked to have their comments withdrawn out of fear of being reprimanded or fired. The study is part of an ongoing investigation called "Spinning the Media" by the Australian Centre for Independent Journalism and the University of Technology that examines the role the public relations plays in making the media.

One more example that all politics is local. Who is imitating who? When the Cambridge MA weekly newspaper published a series of stories criticizing City Councilor Ken Reeves for misspending taxpayer money he began saying that the Cambridge Chronicle is not a real newspaper. Other councilors joined him when they were targets of critical stories. When they liked what was published they quoted the newspaper. Now David Axelrod Obama's Senior Adviser (Rasputin) who as a PR flack spins facts for Obama "went further by calling on media outlets to join the administration in declaring that Fox is 'not a news organization.'"

"The White House stopped providing guests to 'Fox News Sunday' after host Chris Wallace fact-checked controversial assertions made by Tammy Duckworth, assistant secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, in August.

Dunn said fact-checking an administration official was 'something I've never seen a Sunday show do.'

'She criticized "Fox News Sunday" last week for fact-checking -- fact-checking -- an administration official,' Wallace said Sunday. 'They didn't say that our fact-checking was wrong. They just said that we had dared to fact-check.'"
