The Anti-Defamation League just announced that anti-Semitic incidents in the United States rose dramatically in 2015. Colleges and universities were responsible for some 10 percent of the events, which included harassment, threats, and vandalism. The ADL, which pays close attention to such matters, said it was “not clear what may have led to the spike.” Any first-year political science major could furnish a working hypothesis.



Not a single statement has issued from the Oval Office about attacks on Jews in the United States or on foreign turf. Indeed, early last year, when Islamic terrorists went on a killing spree in the French capital, President Obama condemned “violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris.” The zealots were violent and vicious alright, but their shots weren’t random. They aimed to murder patrons in a kosher supermarket. In other words, they sought to kill a bunch of Jewish folks. Somehow, the president couldn’t bring himself to utter that word.
Nor has Obama referred to the uptick in anti-Semitic episodes in academia. Currently, the Left has a palpable presence on campuses, disinviting speakers who dare to articulate conservative views, shouting down defenders of the Second Amendment before they can make their arguments, demanding “trigger warnings” before students read books like Huckleberry Finn and The Great Gatsby, because literature that has been on the shelves for decades, and sometimes centuries, might disturb the frail sensibilities of today’s sophomores. Today, too, the low anti-Semitism of the Third Reich continues in the groves of higher education, often cloaked in pro-Palestinian rhetoric. The vocabulary of the academic Left brims with agitprop about “Zionist malevolence,” though many countries within rocket distance of the most liberal nation in the Middle East are notorious for the stoning of apostates, rape victims, and homosexuals.



Only the naïve, and the willfully ignorant, could fail to see another reason why anti-Semitism has increased overseas and in America. The ADL recently did a survey of religious and ethnic bias in 101 countries. Anti-Jewish sentiment was most prevalent in North Africa and the Middle East, where 74 percent of respondents expressed anti-Semitic views. In those countries, millions are taught that Jews are subhuman, or a dangerous and controlling force in geopolitics—or both. Now, many of those millions are pouring into Europe and America—legally or illegally—welcomed by governments that pay scant attention to their background. In the recent past, 56 percent of anti-religious hate crimes in the U.S. were against Jews. Some 18 percent targeted Muslims. Guess which received censorious comment from on high, and which were met with silence?



George Orwell’s old counsel resounds with fresh truth: “To see what is in front of one’s nose requires a constant struggle.” That struggle has yet to be made by the Obama administration, and sadder still, by the Anti-Defamation League itself.

Increased Jew Hatred In Massachusetts, Politicians Are Role Models

Interesting article yet lacking in specifics. Professor Sarna recognizes the role of politicians in creating a hateful atmosphere. Campaigning for president former U.S. Senator, First Lady, and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton called Republican candidate Donald Trump, crazy and dangerous. That is the pervasive attitude promoted by police, lawyers, courts, and politicians toward persons with disabilities. It is seldom recognized as hateful not even by journalists, who join in the hate campaign against disabled persons. Not distinguishing between lawful and unlawful discrimination in Massachusetts, the Attorney General indicates her less than thoughtful idea on the issue. Though she is quick to note any slight toward homosexuals and their powerful lobbyists. The AG seldom notices or expresses any concern about institutionalized bigotry toward persons with disabilities. Then there is the senior U.S. Senator from Massachusetts who was a professor of law at Harvard Law School. Being relentlessly humiliated for her identity by conservative journalists she was unable refrain from employing personal attacks against Donald Trump. Is she a role model indicating her approval of hatred toward persons with who she disagrees?

Reports of anti-Semitic incidents are soaring this year across New England, an increase fueled by vandalism, harassment, and other acts at schools and colleges, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Anti-Defamation League.
According to the ADL, there have already been 56 anti-Semitic acts in the region this year, nearly as many as for all of 2015, when 61 were reported.
The data alarmed Jewish clergy and academics, who said the incidents suggest a rising level of intolerance that may feed on the rhetoric from the contentious political season.
“Clearly, people are acting out on some long-held stereotypes and hatred toward Jews, and it’s designed to send a message of intimidation,” said Robert Trestan, director of the New England Regional Office of the ADL. “We’re increasingly living in an environment where incivility is becoming common and accepted practice.”

Brandeis professor Jonathan Sarna said he believes a combination of social media, anti-Israel sentiment, and rhetoric from politicians has led to a sense of public acceptance of some anti-Semitism.
“There is a sense today that this kind of hatred is more acceptable and that the public square has become coarser than it had been in the past, and indeed, one senses that even in presidential politics that there is often a relationship,” Sarna said.
“We look to a candidate as role models. When they employ very coarse speech, and people take notice, it’s not a surprise that other folks do the same thing.’’

Among the schools scheduled to take part are all four middle schools in Newton. At Newton’s F.A. Day Middle School, three anti-Semitic incidents were reported this academic year, including graffiti reading “Burn the Jews” scrawled in a boy’s bathroom.
The incidents prompted Newton officials to hold a public meeting, which in itself became a divisive event.
Newton Mayor Setti Warren said Wednesday that he was not surprised to hear about the uptick in anti-Semitic incidents.

Harvard Law School emeritus professor Alan Dershowitz said it was hard to measure the current state of anti-Semitism in statistics since many incidents go unreported.
He said he receives around 50 anti-Semitic e-mails, letters, and phone calls each year but does not report them to law enforcement.

At its core, Europe has abandoned its Christian heritage in favor of the Canaanite side of the family tree.
One is amazed, when one studies history, how much of human conflict originates in a family or clan feuds. The present Mideast crises have their origins in the biblical feud between Jacob and Esau. Looking further west, we can see that the Punic Wars can be thought of as feuds between the Carthaginian Barca family and the Scipios of Italy. The wars between Scotland and England often involved feuding family claims on the Stone of Scone -- a rock of questionable origins, so steeped in myth that it is beyond the scope of this article to assess the veracity of any of the various and competing legends.
Yet, we know these myths are often based on a germ of truth. Troy did exist; and hence the Trojan War did occur, though Homer certainly exaggerated it for poetic effect. If there was a Helen, and if she was as beautiful as the myth says, she must have been a stunner. We are still singing about Helen, three millenia later.

We do know from history that the Phoenicians brought literacy and civilization to the Europeans through trading with the early Minoans and Myceneans.

What is clear is that these Phoenicians shot out to the West, and jump started our civilization. Later on, migrating Indo-European (IE) tribes would absorb them. Oddly enough, willingly. The Celts got along well with the Phoenicians. Gaelic legends [Irish and Scottish] speak of a mixed European and Phoenician ancestry.

What we notice is that Mediterranean European culture is heavily Phoenician in origin, and partially Phoenician in genetic bloodline as well, though obviously diluted into the Indo-European (IE) tribes.

Why would any modern polity embrace a mythological rape as their inspiration? There has to be something amiss in the European mind. Where are the leftist feminists? Why aren't they upset? Yet, Europeans have embraced this gruesome legend and plaster it all over their culture.

One of America's Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin, wanted America's image to be Moses leading the tribes of Israel to liberty across the parted Red Sea. That alone sheds insight into the difference between European and American mindsets, at least two centuries ago. I suspect, the difference has eroded.

Yes, the Phoenicians brought the alphabet to Europe (probably learned it from the Hebrews, and took credit for it); and yes, they brought mercantilism, and seafaring knowledge; but they came with baggage, lots of baggage: child sacrifice, temple prostitution, and animal cruelty, at least to bulls.

The ancient Jews, and their sages, were quick to notice that European civilization had embraced much of the Canaanites' cultural affectations.

The problem is that Europe's embrace of Christianity was only superficial -- they did not embrace Christianity strongly enough. Had they, the Canaanite Phoenician influence would not have survived.

but a deeper insight would indicate that at the time of the writing of the Book of Revelation, everyone who heard it would have immediately associated the image with the foundation myth of Europe. The Greeks at that time were all familiar with the legend of the Rape of Europa. However, one understands the verse and chapter, it certainly applies to European Civilization in general, not just Rome.

This ancient feud between the Hebrews and the Canaanites would resurface between the Jews and the Europeans at times. This is no accident. It is a family rivalry, albeit attenuated by intermarriage. As Europe continues to de-Christianize, this pagan core will begin to reassert itself,

The last time this happened was under Hitler, who tried to re-paganize Germany. The shock of WW I had started to de-Christianize the continent and Hitler strolled in with his neo-pagan Nordicism. Europe is less Christian today, so the potential for even worse is there.
Under stress, the retro-virus has broken out again in Europe's abandonment of Israel.
These arcane myths are the subconscious echo of an ancient feud driving European policy. At its core, Europe has abandoned its Christian heritage in favor of the Canaanite side of the family tree. The result is frightening.
