Mass Murderer Ignored By Liberal Journalists

[From article]
Tinseltown couldn't conjure a bigger nightmare than true-life Philadelphia serial killer Kermit Gosnell. He preyed on hundreds of poor minority women. He systematically executed hundreds of healthy, living, breathing, squirming, viable babies by stabbing them in their necks and severing spinal cords with scissors and knives. This twisted murderer kept baby feet in specimen jars, which he crammed into the grisly refrigerators of his filthy "clinic." For "research."
A year ago this month, the monster Gosnell was convicted of murdering three babies born alive in his death factory. He also was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of one of his "patients," 41-year-old Bhutanese refugee Karnamaya Mongar, who died of a barbarically administered drug overdose at Gosnell's "Women's Medical Society."
Let me remind you that for 15 bloody years, public officials stood by and did nothing.
[. . .]
Forced off of crowd-funding site Kickstarter by extreme pro-abortion censors, they are raising money on Indiegogo. Nearly 17,000 donors have contributed more than $1.6 million. The Gosnell moviemakers now have a little more than a week to reach their $2.1-million goal.
[. . .]
Thanks to McAleer and McElhinney's vision, courage and tenacity, you can help end the cover-up once and for all. You can make a difference by donating at gosnellmovie.com. I can't think of a better way to honor Mother's Day: Show your reverence for life, help expose the truth, seize this cultural moment and make history.

Misguided Abuse At Rutgers of Condoleeza Rice

[From article]
When the University of Minnesota invited her to give a lecture as part of a series marking the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, the school's faculty roused itself. Roughly 200 of them demanded that the invitation be revoked, partly because she is unfit to be part of a civil-rights lecture series.
What would give anyone the idea that a woman who was the nation's first female African-American secretary of state, who experienced Jim Crow firsthand during her childhood in Alabama, who was friends with one of the girls killed in the Birmingham church bombing would have anything relevant to say about civil rights?
The Minnesota professors say that it is in a "spirit of free expression" that they ask for the reversal of Rice's invitation. Because nothing says free expression like shutting down someone's lecture.

Justice Sotomayor Shows Misguided Thinking On Affirmative Action

[From article]
All you really need to know about Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor's dissent in this week's affirmative-action case is that Attorney General Eric Holder praised it as "courageous."
There's a strong presumption that whatever meets Holder's approval will be insipid or politically stilted or both, and Sotomayor's opinion doesn't disappoint on either count.
[. . .]
The emotional heart of her opinion comes near the end, where she repeats over and over the mantra "race matters." She notes how a minority can be asked what country he is from, even if his family has been here for generations, and the hurtful effects of other similar "slights," "snickers" and "silent judgments."
This passage could be titled "Microaggression comes to the Supreme Court." Needless to say, such inadvertent offenses can wound people. But what do any of them have to do with college admissions, or the Supreme Court's jurisprudence?
[. . .]
At least she leaves no doubt about her animating vision. It is of a perpetually racialized society with different rules for different groups, blessed by a "race-sensitive" Supreme Court.

Ted Cruz Lists Lawlessness of White House

“In the more than two centuries of our nation’s history, there is simply no precedent for the White House wantonly ignoring federal law and asking others to do the same.”

Chicago Mayor Disappoints His Supporters

[From article]
That's why Chicago voters picked Rahm Emanuel for mayor in 2011. They liked his rascally persona: the dead fish delivered to a pollster who disappointed him, the shower confrontation with an uncooperative member of Congress, the reported, "Take your (expletive) tampon out and tell me what you have to say" to a male White House staffer who wasn't on point.
The strutting. The finger-pointing. The swearing. Come on. We loved it.
[. . .]
He's a walking personality disorder. But his audacity exceeds his accomplishments. That's a dangerous combination.

Some Successful People Are Psychopaths

[From article]
“I wanted to debunk the myth that all psychopaths are bad,” says Dutton, who has explored this subject before. “I’d done research with the special forces, with surgeons, with top hedge fund managers and barristers. Almost all of them had psychopathic traits, but they’d harnessed them in ways to make them better at what they do.”
[. . .]
“Being a psychopath isn’t black and white; it’s a spectrum, like height and weight.”
[. . .]
The lack of fear which characterises psychopaths could also help people in the work place, says Dutton, who asks of the book’s readers: “What would I do in this situation if I wasn’t afraid?”

New York City Councilman Arrested Charged With Misappropriation of Taxpayer Funds

[From article]
“Not too many people have stood before the cameras and said they’re innocent,” Wills said after being released without bail from Queens Supreme Court.
When a reporter countered that a number of busted pols actually had said exactly that, Wills, a Democrat, said: “That’s disrespectful.”
“I am not resigning on charges. This is America, people. We are presumed innocent before we are proven guilty,” he said.
“But because I know what I am, where I come from and the color I am, it doesn’t really work like that with you guys. But I am presumed innocent and that’s what we are going with.”

Greedy Politicians in Massachusetts Government

[From article]
The judges were angry that they weren’t getting enough of the hack Probation jobs, so they peddled a story for the Globe Flashlight Team. It was truly a Claude Rains-“Casablanca” moment. The judges were shocked, shocked that patronage was going on in the courthouses.
Much to their chagrin, the people charged with dealing out the hack jobs for the solons decided to fight back, by calling all these pompous, greedy, hypocritical judges to the witness stand to talk about how they’ve been cramming their own snouts, and those of all their relatives, into the public trough.
Take Judge Mark Lawton. He’s on the list, an ex-rep and the son of an ex-state senator and judge.
His son, Patrick, also a witness, was first an ADA, then a probation officer, until one evening in 2010 when he was arrested in a heroin dealer’s driveway in Taunton.

Obama Propaganda Promoting Health Care Failed

[From article]
The Washington Post has now been forced to concede that media's propaganda campaign failed. ObamaCare is unpopular and is likely to stay that way:
[. . .]
The 8 million number isn't enrollees. It is the number of people who put a healthcare plan in a shopping cart. By some counts, up to 30% of that 8 million never went as far as to pay for a plan. That brings that magic 8 million number down to a pathetic 5.5 million, far short of what is being reported by our Palace Guard media and government.
[. . .]
ObamaCare isn't gaining in popularity because the American people know that the media has no idea what the real ObamaCare enrollment numbers are. The people also know that the media don’t want to know the real numbers. All the media want is to dutifully repeat whatever Obama tells them to repeat.

Virginia North Carolina End Speech Limitations At Public Colleges

[From article]
On April 4, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe signed into law a bill unanimously passed by the House of Delegates and the Senate, which turns outdoor areas on the state's public college and university campuses into what the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, or FIRE, calls "public forums."
In other words, student speech will not be limited to the tiny "free speech zones" that, as FIRE documents, restrict student speech in "1 in 6 of America's 400 top colleges" in this land of the free and home of the brave.

[. . .]
"North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory signed a bill granting public university students in the state facing non-academic disciplinary charges the right to an attorney" ("North Carolina Becomes First State to Guarantee College Students' Right to Attorney," www.thefire.org, Aug. 23, 2013).
Explained FIRE Senior Vice President Robert Shibley: "Students across America are regularly tried in campus courts for serious offenses like theft, harassment, and even rape. Being labeled a felon and kicked out by your college carries serious, life-altering consequences.
"Because the stakes are so high, students should have the benefit of an attorney to ensure the hearing is conducted fairly and by the rules."

College Students Deserve Lawyers When Charged With Campus Offenses

[From article]
Here is what Joe Cohn, FIRE's Legislative and Policy Director, starkly told those legislators about what is happening to students there charged with "theft, harassment, assault, drug and weapons possession, stalking and rape." Until this bill is passed, Cohn said, students "will continue to be forced to represent themselves -- alone -- against experienced and professionally trained deans, administrators and university attorneys in proceedings that fail to guarantee core components of the rights of due process ...
"The stakes," he continues, "are very, very high; the result of these hearings dramatically change the course of these students' lives ... Some institutions may allow a lawyer to attend the hearing, but prohibit them from participating in the proceedings. Others ban attorneys altogether. The universities, on the other hand, are free to send as many attorneys as they wish to prosecute the student."

Why Not Impose Mexican Immigration Standards In U.S.?

[From article]
So Mexico would object vehemently if U.S. immigration enforcement were to mirror Mexico's own tough immigration laws, which demand strict border enforcement and prohibit unlawful residence or employment within Mexico.
[. . .]
Instead, "comprehensive immigration reform" is shaping up as little more than another divisive campaign opportunity in 2014 to call opponents all sorts of names rather than to seek real compromise.
Too many special interests have profited from the present mess, which is illiberal and reactionary to the core -- involving a perfect storm of inexpensive labor, ethnic-identity chauvinism, political cynicism, selective enforcement of the law, and de facto discrimination against immigrants who play by the rules.

Approaching End of Affirmative Action

[From article]
Recently, a group of liberal Asian-American state lawmakers in California -- a state that is over 60 percent non-white -- successfully blocked a proposed return to racial considerations in college admissions.
Asian-American students are now disproportionately represented in the flagship University of California system at nearly three times their percentages in the state's general population. If race were reintroduced as a consideration for admission, Asian-Americans would have had their numbers radically reduced in the California system at the expense of other ethnic-minority students, regardless of their impressive ethnically blind grades and test scores.
[. . .]
Yet if verifiable hyphenation is to be our touchstone to career or academic identity, how do we certify minority status in an increasingly intermarried and multiracial society where there soon will be, as in California, no majority ethnic group? Are we to wear DNA badges to certify the exact percentages of our racial pedigrees -- to prevent another Elizabeth Warren or Ward Churchill from gaming the system?

Putin Imitating United States Historical Taking of Land

Vladimir Putin

[From article]
When the Mexicans tried to retrieve a disputed piece of their lost Texas territory, James K. Polk accused them of shedding American blood on American soil, had Congress declare war, sent Gen. Winfield Scott and a U.S. army to Mexico City, and annexed the entire northern half of Mexico, which is now the American Southwest and California.
[. . .]
Even in Eastern Ukraine, it is hard to see a moral issue. For the Kiev regime is loudly denouncing as “terrorists” the Russians who are taking over city centers by using the exact same tactics the Maidan Square demonstrators used to seize Kiev.
[. . .]
A decade ago, the National Endowment for Democracy and its progeny helped to foment the Rose Revolution in Georgia, the Tulip Revolution in Kyrgyzstan, the Cedar Revolution in Lebanon, the Orange Revolution in Kiev, and countless other “color revolutions” to dethrone unresponsive regimes and bring those countries into America’s orbit.
In the last decade, Putin has learned how to play the Americans’ game.

Nationalism Not NATO Will Determine Boundaries

[From article]
If we can view with diffidence the drive by Scotland to secede from England, Catalonia to secede from Spain, Venice to secede from Italy, and Flanders to secede from Belgium, why would the secession of the Donbass from Ukraine be a problem for us, if done democratically?
Nationalism is the natural enemy of empires, and it seems on the rise almost everywhere.
[. . .]
A new world is coming. And while perhaps unwelcome news for the transnational elites championing such causes as climate change and battling global economic inequality, it is hard to see any great threat in all this to the true interests of the American people.

Misguided Accusations Of Racism Again

[From article]
But how could Sterling be the Bull Connor of California when he has a girlfriend who describes herself as black and Mexican, hired a black coach for his Clippers, Doc Rivers, and pays his players, mostly black, millions of dollars a year?
If memory serves, Bull Connor was into using fire hoses, billy clubs, and German Shepherds on civil rights demonstrators in his hometown of Birmingham. Sterling regularly sits courtside to cheer on the predominantly black team he has proudly owned for 33 years.
[. . .]
How did Donald Sterling get away with behavior, in a professional sports league dominated by black players, which would get a college kid kicked out of school and scarred for life? Have they no morals clause in the NBA? How was Donald Sterling voted that lifetime achievement award by the NAACP?
The answer to all likely lies in the adage: Follow the money.

Nevada Ordinance Would Criminalize Bullying

[From article]
The ordinance (PDF) would make it a misdemeanor to cause any Carson residents from kindergarten through age 25 to “feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened, harassed or molested” without necessarily requiring a threat of physical harm.
The California Penal Code only penalizes bullying “where a bully makes an actual threat to the life or safety of his or her victim.”
The ordinance would also make a parent or legal guardian responsible for the bullying acts of his or her child, provided that they were made aware of any violation within 90 days.

So will police arrest police, teachers and psychiatrists for bullying civilians?
