NYPD Identifies Suspect in 10-year-old Homicide of Honors Student

The NYPD is closing in on a murder suspect in one of the city’s most infamous cold cases involving a Brooklyn high school honors student, The Post has learned.
Chanel Petro-Nixon, 16, went missing about 10 years ago on June 18, 2006 — that year’s Father’s Day — and was found four days later strangled inside a garbage bag in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
After years of frustrating dead ends in the case, cops and investigators from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office have zeroed in on Veron Primus, a former high school friend of the victim, according to an investigation by WPIX/Channel 11.
In a segment airing Monday, “Crime Watch Daily’’ reporter Mary Murphy travels to the suspect’s native home on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent, where he is in prison facing kidnapping and murder charges in other cases.
Murphy interviews Primus’s ex-girlfriend, Mewanah Hadaway, who shares a harrowing tale of allegedly being held in a crude wooden enclosure in the suspect’s back yard for three-and-a-half months.
While he held her captive, Primus allegedly showed Hadaway news clippings about the Petro-Nixon case and made statements about killing a girl in the United States, Murphy says.
Hadaway eventually escaped Primus, now 29, by slipping a note to a housekeeper, who went to the police.
The NYPD believes that Petro-Nixon also was held before being killed and dumped on a sidewalk just a mile from her home, according to the report, which airs at 2 p.m.
In addition to Hadaway’s kidnapping, Primus has been charged with killing a St. Vincent real estate agent after local cops found evidence of the crime during their investigation into the ex-girlfriend’s case, according to Murphy.
NYPD cops interviewed Hadaway in April and returned to the island last week to meet with St. Vincent police, according to Murphy.
Law enforcement sources told Murphy the St. Vincent sit-downs have been “very fruitful,” although Primus did not confess to murdering Petro-Nixon and requested a lawyer after 45 minutes of questioning.
Petro-Nixon was a straight-A student whose corpse was found with a chemical scar on her leg, possibly from bleach that her killer used to mutilate her, investigators have speculated.

The story we shared on this page yesterday about the Marine brutally assaulted by a group of black teens sparked an unbelievable outpouring of outrage that has gone mad viral. As of this writing, the story on our page alone has been shared nearly 43,000 times and garnered nearly 27,000 comments.
In case you missed it, Christopher Marquez — who received the Bronze Star for valor after serving in the Iraq war — was attempting to enjoy a meal at McDonald’s last week when a group of teenage thugs began harassing him, asking him “Do you believe Black Lives Matter?”
After the Marquez attempted to mind his own business and ignore the group, the situation escalated quickly, resulting in the veteran being knocked unconscious from the back and robbed of $400 cash plus the rest of the contents of his wallet, including IDs and credit cards. Marquez told the Daily Caller:
“I believe this was a hate crime, and I was targeted because of my skin color,” Marquez told the Daily Caller. “Too many of these types of attacks have been happening against white people by members of the black community and the majority of the mainstream media refuses to report on it.”
Apparently the police had already been looking for this group after a prior incident.
Hard to argue with the victim’s suggestion that this was a hate crime — that Marquez was targeted because of his skin color.

A former Marine became the target of an alleged assault in a McDonald’s Friday night, as a crowd of youths cornered him and demanded he answer the question, “do you believe black lives matter?” Before knocking him unconscious and robbing him.
Christopher Marquez, a veteran of Iraq and recipient of the Bronze Star for valor, said he was dining at a McDonald’s in northwest D.C. when a group of black teenagers came up to him and allegedly began harassing him about the black lives matter movement. Marquez ignored them which prompted calls and shouts that he was a racist.
Marquez left the establishment after eating, but allegedly sustained a sudden blow to the back of his head outside the McDonald’s, which knocked him unconscious. When he woke up, his pants were ripped and wallet gone, which contained $400 in cash, three credit cards, his VA medical card, school identification, metro card and driver’s license.

DeAnthony Mason, manager of the McDonald’s, reviewed security footage and told Marquez in a phone call Saturday that when he left the restaurant a teen with a white shirt struck him on the side of the head, knocking him unconscious. The other teens then converged on his incapacitated body, taking his belongings. The head blow Marquez sustained left his memory dazed, but Mason’s review of security footage helped him piece together what occurred.
Upon regaining consciousness, Marquez found a cab driver willing to drive him to his apartment across from American University, where he attends school. Workers in the lobby called the police on his behalf, who took him to George Washington Hospital where he was evaluated for several hours. Medical documents obtained by TheDCNF show Marquez was treated for head trauma and an eye contusion.
Credit card transactions reviewed by TheDCNF reveal that the assailants charged over $115 on his various credit cards at a liquor store, Five Guys and Walmart. Mason, the McDonald’s store manager told Marquez that police have been looking for the group of teens for a previous incident.
I believe this was a hate crime and I was targeted because of my skin color,” Marquez told TheDCNF. “Too many of these types of attacks have been happening against white people by members of the black community and the majority of the main stream media refuses to report on it.”

“When I was in the Marine Corps, I served with people from many different backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, and races,” Marquez told TheDCNF. “Like all Marines, I fought for the freedom of all Americans and not just one particular group.”
Marquez was also involved in the infamous fire fight dubbed “Hell House” in Fallujah. He and a fellow Marine, Dane Shaffer, pulled out four Marines who were stuck in a house after an insurgent ambush. A picture taken of them pulling Sgt Maj Brad Kasal out of battle served as the inspiration for a famous war memorial of Iraq located in California, reports The Los Angeles Times. Marquez is pictured on the left side holding Kasal by his right arm.

Dalal Mughrabi, who led the deadly 1978 bus hijacking on Israel’s Coastal Highway that also wounded more than 70, has long been venerated as a freedom fighter in Palestinian territories, where schoolchildren are taught to praise her as a martyr and freedom fighter. The move to honor her with a dedication of a square in the West Bank capital dates back to 2010, when the Palestinian Authority canceled a ceremony that would have coincided with a visit by Vice President Joe Biden. A year later, the PA went through with a dedication, and last week held a "re-dedication" that once again opened an old wound.

The Beirut-born Mughrabi, who was 19, led a group of 11 terrorists in the March 11, 1978, attack near Tel Aviv, which was aimed at disrupting peace talks between Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. The terrorists, who hoped to attack the Knesset, hijacked a taxi, killed its occupants and then seized two buses. Israeli forces stopped the bus and engaged the terrorists in a gunfight during which Mughrabi raised the Palestinian flag and then blew up the bus with a grenade.
The monument in the middle of Martyr Dalal Mughrabi Square depicts Mughrabi cradling a gun against a backdrop of a map of Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Last week's rededication ceremony was preceded by a Facebook post by Fatah, the group that carried out the attack, commemorating the day and even exaggerating the number of casualties.

Mughrabi is as revered by Palestinians as she is reviled by Israelis. The Jerusalem Post reported that in 2010 alone, more than two dozen events and locations were named in honor of her, including a soccer tournament, a computer center and a summer camp. Last week, on the 37th anniversary, the re-dedication was accompanied by several tributes from top Palestinian leaders.

Defending The Honor of Multi Millionaire Athletes

Young men were defending the honor of the professional New England football team. 60 Minutes reported that the NFL earns $21 billion each year. The teams share their wealth evenly with all teams. Those same teams get taxpayer subsidies to build stadiums which the teams use to take more money for each game. Underprivileged politicians get special access to super bowl tickets which they sell to campaign contributors. Yet these clueless young men defend the honor of the teams? What honor is that? Tell me they don't vote.

FBI agents, and police who believed them destroyed his reputation and career. For 40 years police not only slandered him, but they harassed him daily punishing him for the allegations.
