A high-end prostitute received $10,000 to accompany a high-ranking NYPD officer and one of his detective friends on a trip to Las Vegas, federal authorities said.
The woman, who was named Candi according to DNA Info, was hired to accompany Deputy Inspector James Grant, his friend, two businessmen and two other people during a Super Bowl weekend getaway in 2013, the indictment states.
One of the businessmen, according to the document, was Jeremy Reichberg, of Brooklyn, who now faces corruption charges along with Grant and NYPD Deputy Chief Michael Harrington.
Reichberg and another businessman spent more than $100,000 bribing NYPD officers in exchange for favors, US Attorney Preet Bharara said Monday.
Candi, a high-end prostitute, took off in the private jet with Grant, Reichberg and businessman Jona Rechnitz, who has pleaded guilty in the case and is now cooperating with authorities in the investigation, from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, DNA Info reported.
The group left on February 2, 2014 to and returned on February 4 on the private jet, which cost $57,000 according to the indictment.
Candi told investigators that Grant and others had 'taken advantage of her services during the trip' and slept in Grant's room, the document states.
Reichberg had offered to take Grant to Las Vegas for a Super Bowl weekend a month prior, authorities said.
Authorities arrested Grant, 43, Harrington, 50 and Reichberg, 42, on Monday. All three now face one count of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud, which carries a maximum term of 20 years in prison.


Meanwhile authorities said Harrington (pictured on Monday) accepted tens of thousands of dollars worth of private security work, hotel rooms in Chicago worth more than $6,000, and dinners worth thousands of dollars.

Reichberg and Rechnitz 'engineered a scheme to provide lavish benefits to high-ranking members of the NYPD' between 2012 and 2015, the US Attorney’s Office said.
Other gifts included a two-night stay at a hotel in Rome for Grant worth more than $1,000, contracting work in his home worth about $12,000 and jewelry, the court papers state.
Meanwhile authorities said Harrington accepted tens of thousands of dollars worth of private security work for a company he helped manage unofficially, hotel rooms in Chicago for him and his family worth more than $6,000, and dinners worth thousands of dollars.
In exchange, the indictment says, Grant and Harrington arranged police escorts for the two businessmen, diverted police resources to investigate their private matters and helped them get VIP access to parades and other events in New York City.
Grant helped the two men avoid tickets after being pulled over by officers by giving them cards, authorities said.
He also helped Reichberg to obtain a gun license from the NYPD and tried to do the same for Rechnitz, the US Attorney's Office said.
NYPD Sergeant David Villanueva was also arrested on Monday and charged with receiving cash bribes to expedite and approve gun licenses.
Authorities also unveiled the guilty plea of officer Richard Ochetal, who has pleaded guilty to accepting bribes in exchange for the approval of gun license applications and is now cooperating with investigation.
Both Reichberg and Rechnitz have contributed heavily to Mayor de Blasio's campaign.
The mayor hasn't been implicated in any wrongdoing.

Cops shut down a lane in the Lincoln Tunnel so a visiting businessman could be escorted through it at the behest of a major de Blasio fundraiser, federal prosecutors charged Monday.
The outrageous move was revealed as part of damning criminal indictments unveiled Monday against four NYPD officers and the shady “fixer’’who allegedly arranged it.
The stunning arrests marked the first time cops have been charged in the sweeping 3½-year corruption investigation rocking the department and Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office, which is being probed for its fundraising.

Federal prosecutors allege that the civilian behind the closure, Borough Park businessman Jeremy Reichberg, and his pal, real estate investor Jona Rechnitz, spent more than $100,000 on police bribes between 2012 and 2015.
“They got, in effect, a private police force for themselves and their friends — effectively they got cops on call,” Manhattan US Attorney Preet Bharara said.
The criminal indictments alleged that in one instance, “Reichberg, using his connections in local law enforcement agencies, was able to arrange for the closure of a lane in the Lincoln Tunnel and a police escort down that lane for a businessman visiting the United States.”
It was unclear when the shutdown occurred, but law enforcement sources said the request did not go through official channels and there was no documentation of it, suggesting it could have been orchestrated in the middle of the night.
Bharara said the busted NYPD officials accepted bribes that included costly trips and romps with a prostitute.
Deputy Chief Michael Harrington, Deputy Inspector James Grant and Sgt. David Villanueva were all arrested at their homes at 6 a.m., prosecutors said.
A fourth cop, Officer Richard Ochetal, had already pleaded guilty to accepting bribes in exchange for expediting gun permit applications, according to court papers.
“It is a heartbreaking thing,’’ Bharara said at a press conference announcing the charges. “An officer who betrays his badge betrays every honorable officer.’’
The damning criminal indictments reveal just how influential Reichberg and Rechnitz became through their department connections.
With Rechnitz’s help, Reichberg arranged free “flights, hotel rooms, prostitutes, expensive meals, home improvements, and prime seats to sporting events, among other things,” for the cops, court documents say.
In exchange, Grant and Harrington arranged police escorts for the businessmen, handled their personal business disputes, gave them VIP access to events such as New Year’s Eve and the Marathon and provided them with NYPD cards that got them out of traffic tickets, prosecutors allege.
Reichberg was even caught on an early 2015 wiretap indicating that his NYPD connections were so tight that he “was dispensing advice on promotions to members of the NYPD and taking steps to facilitate promotions.’’

This below image and text were received from Cambridge, MA City Councilor Nadeem Mazen. The wealthiest person in Cambridge, MA is the corporation officially known as The President and Fellows of Harvard College. Harvard University has a $37 billion endowment. Do they use any of it to influence elections and policy decision makers? Does their wealth influence the court system? Harvard has three full time lobbyists in Washington, DC. Most of the city councilors and many city employees are Harvard graduates. The university controls city and state government. Does Harvard's money corrupt what the prominent university does? Mazen does not say. 



Earlier this year a prominent Harvard University Law School professor of ethics, Lawrence Lessig, chose to run for President during his leave of absence. He began using his offices for his campaign in apparent direct violation of IRS laws, US Treasury department laws, city and state tax laws. One of his hired consultants at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University may also have used his office for the campaign. His company address is in California. Then a woman professor at the Harvard Center for Government and International Studies published an essay in the Washington Post attacking Donald Trump. Was this another illegal use of the University's 501(c)(3) tax exemption? Did their $37 billion endowment encourage their alleged transgressions? Mazeen does not speak about these events.



The Ethics professor decided to run after he raised more than $1 million for his campaign. But he dropped out shortly after he announced. He is allowed by state and US law to keep the money he raised for future campaigns. Did I mention the reason he gave for running was to fight corrupt campaign finance practices? Mazeen does not address this as an abuse. Ex-MA State Senator Jarrett Barrios, left his senate seat with $500,000 in campaign funds which he kept. Barrios is now the CEO of the Massachusetts Red Cross and earns over $300,000 a year in salary, plus unknown  benefits. The goal of ending campaign finance abuses attracts a certain nobility among politicians. 



Usually emails from high minded city councilors include invitations to fund raising parties. Do they all oppose money in politics while they want you to give them your money? Are they "not politicians" as former Governor Patrick of Massachusetts used to announce, saying "I am not a politician."?

New York Governor Cuomo Resells World Series Tickets To Fund Campaign

As The Post reported Tuesday, Gov. Cuomo is using the Mets’ home games in the World Series to raise himself some campaign cash.
His staff picked up a “very limited number” of tickets to this week’s Games 3 and 4 at Citi Field — and is selling the $125 tickets to supporters for as much as $5,500.
The campaign’s offer also includes a ­90-minute private reception with the gov. Cuomo’s not the only pol using the Fall Classic to raise campaign funds: Rep. Grace Meng has a similar scheme — for an only slightly more affordable $2,500 a head.
Now, scalping is perfectly legal in New York; a whole secondary market exists for that purpose. But Cuomo’s charging a major markup: The average Series ticket at Citifield is going for about $1,600 on StubHub.



Worse is the unseemly air of insider access here. It’s far easier for a high-ranking official (or his flunkies) to score seats than it is for the average Joe. Did Cuomo forget the anger when Gov. David Paterson scored Yankees tickets?
And to then milk the prized passes for campaign cash . . .
It’s particularly tacky when Attorney General Andrew Cuomo was so tough on scalpers. Back in 2010, he went after folks who sat in line for free Shakespeare In The Park tickets, then resold them on Craigslist.

Administrators at a Catholic university in Florida agreed to help an honors student start a campus club that would send money and supplies to the ISIS terror army.
Hidden camera footage released Monday morning shows officials and faculty at Barry University advising a senior – identified only as 'Laura' – about the best way to secure funding for a club she called 'Sympathetic Students in Support of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.'
'I want to start fundraising efforts on campus, and what I want to do is raise funds to send overseas,' she told Derek Bley, the school's Coordinator for Leadership Development and Student Organizations.


When an honors student at Barry University in Florida asked campus administrators about getting college funds for a club supporting the ISIS terror army, her idea was met with approval.

Bley offered to help her create the organization and agreed with her request to 'pass out Islamic State flags and educate people' at an annual student 'Festival of Nations' fair.
The video is from Project Veritas, a conservative 'guerilla film-making group' that last week captured a Cornell University dean agreeing that ISIS and Hamas would be welcome at the Ivy League school.

Barry University, based in Miami Shores, has received more than $112 million in federal grants and contracts, and another $109 million from Florida taxpayers since 2000, Project Veritas said Monday, citing figures from OpenTheBooks.com.



It also once received tuition money from retired NBA great Shaquille O'Neal, who graduated in 2012 with a doctorate in Education. His final 'capstone project' – a load-lightened version of a doctoral dissertation – focused on 'humor and seriousness in leadership styles,' according to the Miami New Times.

On his Thursday April 2, 2015 show Rush Limbaugh reported that after the report of the hypothetical refusals, not a real refusal, to cater a same sex wedding, hundreds if not thousands, of mean spirited, hate filled tweets were posted making threats to the business owners. Most of them were generated by ten to fifteen people, using robot programs pretending to be sent by real people. Limbaugh added that an online fund raising effort got $140,000 for the pizza shop owners who were forced to close due to the threats. He also noted that Apple has more stores in Tehran than in all of Indiana. But while the CEO of Apple Computers condemns Indiana, he remains silent about Iranian practices of stoning women, killing homosexuals, while they focus on "dangerous" Indiana. By Friday April 3, 2015 the amount raised online was almost $500,000. As of 11 PM Friday April 3, 2015 over $800,000 was raised when the account was closed.

On Wednesday, talk radio host Dana Loesch spoke with Crystal O’Connor, the co-owner of Memories Pizza.

An Indiana pizza shop may be the first to publicly say it will not serve gay weddings.
The O’Connor family owns Memories Pizza in Walkerton, southwest of South Bend.
“If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” Crystal O’Connor tells WBND-TV, adding, “We are a Christian establishment.”
Family members say they agree with Gov. Mike Pence that the bill does not encourage discrimination against gays and lesbians.

The public relations company representing the University of Massachusetts Building Authority, which hired firms to build the new Kennedy Institute, has acknowledged it solicited those contractors for pricey ads in an upcoming Boston Globe commemorative magazine section.
Julie Kahn, an executive with Regan Communications, said she used a list of vendors provided by the institute, named for the late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, to make the sales calls for the ads, which started at $15,000 for a half-page.
“It went out to everyone they did business with — everyone who profited,” Kahn said. “I don’t see a conflict. I was just given a list by the EMK Institute that they wanted me to contact. When you do a roast or someone retires, you call all your vendors to give back. This is very common in this business.

Continuing the hate speech witch hunt, the word racism remains undefined. University Presidents, who are mostly weak with relaxed rectitude these days, remain focused on fundraising and not offending any potential donor. The notion of unpopular speech has moved into the prohibited zone. That suggests that the purpose of the First Amendment was forgotten and is now an anomaly. That this happens on university campuses which were set up with protections encouraging free inquiry is sad. No one suggests that expressing hatred is proper. But it is protected speech under the US and state constitutions. Intimidating a person in the free exercise of a constitutionally protected right is a felony in Massachusetts. But like other race neutral laws that law is seldom enforced. Under the Obama-Holder doctrine inconvenient laws may be ignored by selected persons. University presidents are among the elite so entitled. The source of this strict politically correct speech restriction comes from the feminist therapeutic state promoters. Feeling good is elevated over speech, expression, and inquiry. Tell them what they want to hear. Where have I heard that before?

The president undoubtedly Tweeted Harvard’s Dean of Donations this week to remind him that “at a certain point you’ve made enough money,” and that, while he doesn’t want to punish Harvard’s success, “when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.”

It was, after all, a $37.5 billion record year for giving to America’s 4,800 colleges and universities, but $6.75 billion of that went to just 10 schools. In other words, the top two-tenths of one percent got 18 percent of the money.
You may ask why Barack Obama, of all of the Harvard grads, should be the one to alert the guardians of this Ivy League bastion to their opportunity to address historical inequality?
As a millionaire, living in a palace, with servants meeting his every need, security watching his every step, becking and calling limousines and luxury aircraft, vacationing in posh resorts, and golfing his days away — Barack Obama clearly has the prestige, and the leisure time, to petition the captains of Cambridge, Mass., to redress this lingering injustice.
However, you may contend, the donors to Harvard did not intend their wealth to be spread around so liberally.
Yes, but what is Harvard, if not an educational institution? Should that education stop after a few years of undergraduate work, a master’s or a doctorate? No, I say, let the learning continue for a lifetime, as Harvard teaches its wealthy capitalist alumni the vanity of greed and the surpassing value of selfless giving.
May Obama’s elite friends in academia experience the full blessing of his legacy of leveling.

Mayor Vincent C. Gray had detailed knowledge about an illegal fundraising operation that helped him capture the 2010 election and personally asked a prominent D.C. business executive to finance the scheme, prosecutors said Monday.
At a court hearing likely to roil the current mayoral race, prosecutors for the first time alleged that Gray (D) knew about businessman Jeffrey E. Thompson’s conspiracy to pump more than $660,000 in illegal donations into the campaign.
In fact, prosecutors said, Gray and the businessman devised a plan in which Gray would refer to Thompson as “Uncle Earl” to conceal his identity.
The new details about the mayor’s purported involvement emerged at a hearing in which Thompson pleaded guilty to funneling more than $2 million in illegal donations to federal and local campaigns over a six-year period.

Scapegoat - Big Daddy Will Protect You

The day after I wrote about two homosexuals from New York beginning a new period of harassment I received a letter with a return address on Broad Street New York City. That street crosses Wall Street. The Wall Street law firm Sullivan & Cromwell is in the building. I laughed thinking it was from some investment company thinking because I live in Cambridge MA I have money to invest. Or perhaps it was from some company which obtained my address from Columbia University. Most graduates of Columbia have or had good careers and earned extra income so that they too could invest in ventures. Many Columbia graduates inherit lots of money too. Opening the letter I leanred it was from (drumroll please) the ACLU, the Executive Director Anthony Romero. Included was a small copy of the US Constitution. The Heritage Foundation also sends out free copies of the Constitution. Why then are so few people familiar with it, like the President and the Attorney General? Huh? I laughed again. Here was the alleged defender of civil liberties for all American individuals with their office on Wall Street, 18th Floor 125 Broad Street. Did they have a river view? I read Wendy Kaminer's book about the ACLU, Worst Instincts. It gave me hope that at least one other intelligent person knew how depraved the ACLU had become. She revealed much more than I imagined. I learned that Anthony Romero is a "Hispanic" homosexual. Nothing wrong with that, depending upon what you mean by Hispanic. I mean if Hispanic means Spanish speaking person, then I too am Hispanic. But he lives with a psychiatrist. Nothing much wrong with that except, well psychiatrists are control freaks. That means that the ACLU sets policy based on standards in the minds of psychiatrists. I read psychiatry and how it has undermined institutions humans created over thousands of years. Like the quaint notion of accountability. According to psychiatrists if they say you have a mental illness that explains why you did something. The illness made you do it. It is like Flip Wilson's defense when as Geraldine he was asked why she bought that ugly dress. Geraldine answers: "The devil made me do it." Flip Wilson was funny. But some state courts now allow the defense in criminal actions to use psychiatry to mitigate criminal acts. The ACLU allows liberal dogma into its own institution. The gathering of foundation money became the highest goal of the ACLU. Even if it meant that the ACLU had to include goals of the foundation which gave them the money. Wendy Kaminer objected when she was on the board of directors. She was ousted and then wrote her book. I was always an admirer of the ACLU. At least I admired their image. I did not learn until I was older that there was a distinction between the public image in the media and the real operation of a government, person or corporation. Kaminer exposed the deceit of the liberals, who took control of the ACLU. What makes the letter I received so hilarious is that it arrived as I was in the midst of an intense harassment period by a group of criminal police, Communists and crime families, lasting 42 years. In 1973 government psychiatrists at Harvard drugged me with hallucinogens because they thought I was a spy. I went to the ACLU. They did not help. In 1983 when I was in a five year landlord tenant litigation in the Third Circuit, I went to the ACLU. They did not help even though they knew what was going on. The Executive Director of the NJ ACLU said to me then, "You don't need a lawyer, you need a law firm." In 1991 during a Cambridge Police super deluxe frame-up I went to the ACLU. They did nothing, beyond saying, "We can't help you." I did not keep track of all the times I sought help from the ACLU. They never helped. They would usually say "We're a small firm." Oh? What about all the lawyers who volunteer? On one occasion I asked for their help getting police files from the Harvard campus cops. Harvard says they are private police and do not have to answer to the state public records act. But under state laws a public record is a record made by a public official. Campus cops are sworn special state police officers and sworn deputies sheriff. They are public officials. But the state supreme court under former Harvard General Counsel decided they were private. Nonetheless I did ask the ACLU for help. It was a public matter not just my issue. They refused to help. But when the Harvard Crimson (student newspaper) encountered the same barrier two years later the ACLU found an attorney who appeared on local TV and with whom I discussed the matter. I even went to a few meetings of a group focused on one civil rights issue and met some of the ACLU members in Cambridge MA. When a psychiatrist began attending the meetings I stopped. I've been scrutinized by too many control freaks. They were all generalists. None were focused on helping individuals which is what the Constitution is all about. What makes the US distinct from other countries is strong individual rights guaranteed by the US Constitution. But the ACLU no longer does any of that. They raise money, speak and lobby for collective liberal issues. When one of the MA ACLU executive directors was retiring, he appeared on TV and boasted that the Boston police commissioner attended his dinner and stayed for two hours. They were friends he said. That is when I realized that the ACLU in MA was working with the police and the FBI. Why they did not express outrage or even join in exposing 19 homicides by an FBI informant who is only now on trial after 25 years. The US Attorney dropped all other charges like corruption extortion of local and state police and politicians. The Department of Justice prosecuted one FBI agent as if he was the only one. And one other died in prison awaiting trial for murder. The ACLU remained silent about the FBI frame-up of four white men for murder. Two of them died in prison and two were released after 30 years. Why was the ACLU silent on those abominations? So No Mr. Romero I will not be contributing to your rich non profit. The letter begins "Dear Friend, Who would stand up for you if your civil rights were violated?" Ummm, myself?

Scientology and ACLU Obsessed With Fund Raising

The criticism of the leader of Scientology is exactly the same criticism directed at Anthony Romero the current Executive Director of the ACLU. Wendy Kaminer wrote a detailed account of his abuses and misadventures in her book, Worst Instincts. Some people have no perspective when assuming leadership. Lack of common sense can be deadly.
