Harvard Law Professor Challenges Dominant Paradigm, Protested by California Students

Will this rebuke teach law professors to conform? Or will they continue their heretical advocacy against prevailing paradigm. Time to get in line.

[From article]
Students and faculty at Occidental College are protesting the school’s choice of Harvard Law School professor Randall L. Kennedy as their commencement speaker for his controversial statements on race-related activism and the film “The Hunting Ground.”
Students aligned with race-related activism groups and sexual assault prevention groups at the Los Angeles college have publicly criticized the choice—announced April 14— and some have called on the school to revoke Kennedy’s invitation.
Their complaints center around a November op-ed signed by Kennedy and 18 other HLS professors that challenges “The Hunting Ground,” a film they say erroneously portrays a sexual assault case at the Law School. Opponents of the choice of Kennedy as speaker also took issue with the professor’s criticism of race-related activism at the Law School.

Trump Protesters Are Criminals

[From article]
According to the U.S. news media, Donald Trump is a dangerous extremist whose rhetoric is inciting violence at his rallies. The protestors are innocent as lambs, gentle people who are being violently assaulted by Trump supporters. Trump's jack-booted white-trash constituency is mercilessly punching and kicking anyone who dares to object to his inhumane racist and xenophobic policies.
This moralistic fairy tale is utter nonsense. It is the exact opposite of the truth. As Trump himself has pointed out, these "protestors" are more aptly described as "disruptors." Their intent is not to exercise their own First Amendment rights but to silence people they disagree with.
Trump's rallies across the U.S. have attracted tens of thousands of people. Before they were intentionally disrupted, these gatherings were entirely peaceful. Trump's supporters are not "white trash." On the contrary, they're the very salt of the earth: the law-abiding and hard-working people who pay their taxes and make this country work. These people want nothing more than to be left alone and participate peacefully in the democratic process of self-governance.
[. . .]
In North Carolina last March 9, an elderly white Trump supporter struck a young black man being escorted out of a Trump rally by law enforcement. The video recording of this incident has been shown more times than the Rodney King beating. One night, NBC news literally replayed it three times within fifteen seconds. The implication is that Trump is guilty by association. This is an absurd logical fallacy. A man is not guilty by association. And if we are to judge Mr. Trump by the behavior of his supporters, why choose the one person who became violent? Would it not be more reasonable to base our assessment on the tens of thousands of people who remained peaceful?
Who would have thought such a bad man could win so many elections? Mr. Trump's detractors have run through the entire English lexicon of insulting epithets. Perhaps they implicate themselves by protesting too much. If Mr. Trump suffers from any fault, it is a refusal to function as a punching bag. Some consider this to be a sterling virtue in a Presidential candidate.
if people want to oppose Donald Trump's candidacy they have a thousand ways to do so. Instead of disrupting Trump's rallies, they could hold their own rallies (would anyone attend?). They could write editorials, letters to the editor, and make comments on the internet. They could march up-and-down on the street holding up signs denouncing Trump. They might even try (gasp) voting. Everyone in our society has a multitude of ways of freely expressing themselves.
But the protestors do not want to merely express themselves. They want to impose their political views by force. If they don't like what you're saying, they're going to shut you down and shut you up. In Phoenix last March 19, protestors blocked a major highway leading to a Trump rally. This was not a peaceful or lawful act. It was a forceful way of stopping people who merely wanted to peacefully assemble and work for democratic change. Not only were Trump's supporters affected, so was anyone who happened to be traveling on that highway. This included people with medical emergencies desperately trying to reach a hospital.
The political season is just warming up. We have witnessed the beginning of the violence, not the end. So let's be entirely clear about what is happening here. The people who are disrupting Donald Trump's rallies are not merely a threat to the Trump campaign. They are thugs and criminals who are endangering everyone's right to free expression and democratic governance.

Anti Trump Protesters Attack Secret Service

Billionaire Democrat, Labor Unions Funding, Planning More and Greater Disruptions of Trump Campaign

[From article]
People like George Soros know how to plan ahead to manufacture mob violence masquerading as social movements.

It worked like a charm in Ferguson, Missouri, and laying the groundwork for energizing the critical black turnout in 2016, courtesy of #BlackLivesMatter and others. #BLM is also serving as a useful vehicle for suppressing the Trump phenomenon.

Now, a group called Working America, funded by the AFL-CIO (which relies on raking off a portion of the paychecks of people forced to join unions) and by billionaires George Soros and Tom Steyer, is advertising for organizers in Cleveland.

Protesting Illegal Immigrants, Unaware of Mexican Immigration Laws

[From article]
On Friday night, we saw Sanders placards and a few communist flags at that anti-Trump rally. I guess you'd expect that at a leftist rally with Bill Ayers in attendance.
It was the Mexican flags that caught my attention.
I don't know for sure who was holding the flags but my reaction was the same. In other words, do these kids understand how Mexico treats illegal immigrants or even legal foreigners engaged in politics?
Let's take a look at Mexico's immigration laws:
What would Mexico do? The answer is easy: deport them on the spot. In 2002, a dozen American college students, in Mexico legally, participated peacefully in an environmental protest against a planned airport outside of Mexico City. They swiftly found themselves deported as law-breakers for interfering in Mexico’s internal affairs.
Another person had a sign that read: "Liberation not deportation".
What in the world does that mean? Does the young woman understand that every country has immigration laws and deports people violating them?

Ferguson MO Rioters, Destroy Business Rebuilt After Previous Riots

One year after Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown in the St. Louis suburb, protests and riots broke out just as they did last year. 911 Hair Salon, owned by Dellena Jones, was one of the businesses robbed during the protests Sunday night.
(Photo: Jim Vondruska/ZUMA Press/Newscom)
[From article]
This week, on the one-year anniversary of Michael Brown’s death, a familiar image came out of Ferguson, Mo., as protesters faced off against police in the city just as they did 12 months ago.
For one business owner, a night of rioting and looting disrupted a year of rebuilding not just her business, but a community.
Over the course of last year, Dellena Jones, owner of 911 Hair Salon on West Florissant Avenue, found an ally eager to help her rebuild: the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition.
But on Sunday, a group of young men shattered the left window of her beauty salon as protests flared once again in the St. Louis suburb.
[. . .]
Jones estimated that in the last 12 months, the protests have caused her to lose roughly $75,000—a combination of lost revenue from a decrease in foot traffic along West Florissant Avenue and the cost of repairing her shop.
“You have all of these different protesters. They don’t pop into your business and say, ‘Hey, what do you need?’ or ‘Hey, are you all OK?’” Jones said. “It just seems like with the protests, it seems very selfish.”
After last year’s protests, the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition rallied volunteers to participate in “buycotts” of Ferguson businesses to show people that yes, the stores in the town were open for business, and yes, it’s safe to shop in the city.
And over the last few months, the group has also been helping Jones put her store back together.
[. . .]
Jones, speaking in a separate interview, agreed.
“It’s just amazing to me. The biggest chant is ‘Black lives matter.’ So many black lives are being affected by this in such a big way,” Jones said. “I’m an African-American, I’m a single parent. I have two kids. I’m affected by this. It’s almost a little bit contradictory with the chants of ‘Black lives matter,’ but it seems that it’s only some black lives matter.”

Paris Celebration Of Tel Aviv Beach Attracts Protesters

A woman walks on a set up beach during Paris Tel Aviv Beach event, on the banks of the Seine River, in Paris, France, Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015. Paris has deployed hundreds of extra police to protect an urban beach event honoring Tel Aviv, after it turned from a summertime celebration into a geopolitical hot potato. Leftist politicians and pro-Palestinian activists wanted it canceled amid anger over a Jewish extremist attack in the West Bank.

[From article]
A Paris beach event celebrating Tel Aviv attracted a handful of visitors but a huge number of journalists, riot police and security guards on Thursday, as well as a much larger "Gaza Beach" protest.
Bemused locals who headed down to "Tel Aviv Sur Seine" had to manoeuvre through bag checks, security pat-downs and metal detectors to reach the small stretch of sand on the banks of the Seine.
Paris converts a long stretch of its riverbank into a makeshift beach known as "Paris Plages" every summer, and has this year named certain days after resorts around the world.
Thursday's event consisted of little more than a few people playing bat and ball in front of a picture of Tel Aviv, but it has been enough to excite a major media brouhaha after objections from anti-Israel protesters.
"There are 50 visitors for 500 journalists. I feel like I'm on the red carpet at Cannes," said one onlooker.
The Tel Aviv section of the beach, not far from Notre Dame cathedral, was only around 200 metres (yards) long and guarded by a phalanx of riot police on either end.
"Coming today is an act of solidarity with the Jewish people," said Cecilia, an Italian stretched out on a beach chair, adding that she was "a little afraid that this degenerates".

Black Texas Gentle Lady Protesting Death of Sandra Bland Expresses Her Love For White People

“I’m a nappy-haired militant non-compliant Negro that’s here because Sandra Bland was murdered…”
(Photo: Breitbart Texas/Bob Price)
[From article]
Breitbart Texas was at the Waller County Sheriff’s Office county jail Saturday evening when a protester told reporters and others present, that all white people should be killed. She also called white people and reporters, “terrorists.” Her orders – “go back into the cave where you came from.”
As reported by Breitbart Texas, the group Anonymous posted a YouTube video and made threatening demands upon the Waller County Sheriff’s Department and Waller County officials saying, “We all know where you live. No mercy for murderers.”
The group planned protests in 35 cities throughout the U.S. on Saturday, August 8th, and made specific threats against the Waller County Sheriff and other Waller County police officers. They were at the Waller County jail on Saturday evening.
“You see this nappy-ass hair on my head? … That means I am one of those more militant Negroes,” a protester later identified as “Sunshine” said.
She told reporters she was at the protest because “these redneck mother-f**kers murdered Sandra
Bland because she had nappy hair like me.”

[. . .]
This protester verbally assaulted Breitbart Texas journalists and other journalists, bloggers, and photographers while at the protest. All of the victims of her verbal tirade were white.
“Sunshine” called white people and reporters “terrorists” and said she didn’t “negotiate with terrorists” when reporters asked her questions.
“I think you should go back to those caves that you crawled out of in the Caucasus mountains because you can’t leave black and brown people alone. We can’t have any peace on the planet because of white supremacy and white existence. So yeah, f**king die or go back to the cave. I’m not scared to say it.”

White Philadelphia Women Protest Attacks By Black Women

Why don't they call the police or get permits to carry concealed weapons? Oh wait. Why not demand the Justice Department open an investigation into racism and disparate treatment. Hahaha.

[From article]
Up to 200 South Philadelphia residents organized a large protest this week to take a stand against what they describe as “racial attacks” from four black women towards white residents.
Residents claim that these four women have been “terrorizing” the neighborhood. Speakers said things like “white lives matter” and held up signs saying things like “We know who you are!” and “White women’s lives matter.”
And they’re not just upset at these women, they’re outraged that the police haven’t taken any serious action against them. 911 calls were placed, but there were reportedly zero reports taken.
Anonymous individuals told WPVI they’ve either been attacked or witnessed attacks from the four women. One woman claimed they came up to her and were “spitting on me, pounding on my face.”

Black Protesters Accuse Fraternity of Hate Speech

[From article]
Black students at the University of Washington are alleging that members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity called African Americans “apes” and made obscene gestures and booed as marchers passed the frat’s house during a campus Black Lives Matter protest last month.
The fraternity’s president says SAE members heard comments, too, but the fraternity has conducted its own investigation and doesn’t believe its members were involved.
University officials said they are investigating but do not yet know what happened or who was responsible.
A group of young men allegedly made “grossly insensitive comments and rude gestures aimed at the marchers,” said Denzil Suite, vice president for Student Life. “The behavior described is completely inconsistent with the university’s values and expectations.”
He called such behavior “unacceptable.”

Anti Police Protester Charged With Assaulting Two NYPD Officers, In Separate Incidents

Yotameli Sayer, 22

[From article]
Yotameli Sayer, 22, is accused of assaulting two officers in separate incidents, both of which allegedly occurred Dec. 4 after a Staten Island grand jury decided not to indict an NYPD officer in the death of Eric Garner.
Police said Sayer was first arrested in Chelsea last week after he punched an officer during a protest. Cops confiscated his fanny pack in that incident.
Sayer went to retrieve the bag at police headquarters on Tuesday, and ended up being detained on a separate alleged assault, which was captured on video, according to ABC New York.
The second incident happened during a rally outside the Staten Island Ferry later the same day. Police said they identified Sayer as a protester, clad in black and wearing a face mask, that "cold-cocked" an officer during the demonstration. The altercation was filmed and distributed through social media, police said.
[. . .]
Sayer is a native of the Netherlands currently living in Bushwick, Brooklyn. In addition to assault, he is charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct, police said.

Grand Jury Testimony Revealed in Ferguson Police Shooting

[From article]
The police officer who fatally shot Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., two months ago has told investigators that he was pinned in his vehicle and in fear for his life as he struggled over his gun with Mr. Brown, according to government officials briefed on the federal civil rights investigation into the matter.
The officer, Darren Wilson, has told the authorities that during the scuffle, Mr. Brown reached for the gun. It was fired twice in the car, according to forensics tests performed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The first bullet struck Mr. Brown in the arm; the second bullet missed.
The forensics tests showed Mr. Brown’s blood on the gun, as well as on the interior door panel and on Officer Wilson’s uniform. Officer Wilson told the authorities that Mr. Brown had punched and scratched him repeatedly, leaving swelling on his face and cuts on his neck.
[. . .]
In September, Officer Wilson appeared for four hours before a St. Louis County grand jury, which was convened to determine whether there is probable cause that he committed a crime. Legal experts have said that his decision to testify was surprising, given that it was not required by law. But the struggle in the car may prove to be a more influential piece of information for the grand jury, one that speaks to Officer Wilson’s state of mind, his feeling of vulnerability and his sense of heightened alert when he killed Mr. Brown.
Police officers typically have wide latitude to use lethal force if they reasonably believe that they are in imminent danger.

St. Louis Suburban Protesters of Police Shooting, Fire On Police Helicopter; FAA Bans Flights

Shooting a black teenager? We'll show you. Maybe we trash some white people's stores and steal some stuff from white people who had nothing to do with the shooting. Great idea? But they are white. Shoot down the police helicopter. Is Ferguson in Iraq? Yea. That's what we call justice. Father of dead teen states "They must pay." Is that stereotyping? Collectivism? Why are there no protests when mental patients are shot dead by groups of police? Not one officer, a team of shooters.

[From article]
The Federal Aviation Administration issued a temporary flight restriction on Tuesday for an area surrounding Ferguson, M0., the town where a police officer fatally shot an unarmed 18-year-old black man, after a St. Louis County police helicopter was fired upon Sunday night.
[. . .]
Civil rights leader Al Sharpton traveled to Ferguson on Tuesday. He urged local citizens to avoid violence while calling for the federal government to take over the investigation into Brown’s death. (RELATED: Al Sharpton Calls For Peace And Federal Investigation Of Black Teen’s Shooting Death)
Ferguson police maintain that the officer shot Brown after the teen assaulted him and attempted to gain control of his service weapon. A shot was fired in the officer’s police car. Brown was shot multiple times. Shots were also fired when Brown was 35-feet from the officer’s cruiser.

Harvard Students to Provide Facts to Protesters

Why the double standard? Who will "combat charges that [officials in local, state and US government] are uninformed about public policy issues?" US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged Congress to pass the Health Care Bill in order to find out what's in it. High powered DC lobbyist Jack Abramoff on 60 Minutes noted that the "Members" do not read legislation." Why impose a higher standard on unelected unpaid protesters than those who write the laws?

[Reply to Comment]
You think voters and taxpayers should interact directly "not mediated through a small number of pundits on a smaller number of 'mainstream' media." Are you suggesting that journalists are not keeping voters and taxpayers informed of facts? Are you implying that journalists may be working for the same economic and political interests as politicians and lobbysits? Are journalists as clueless as elected officials? Or are they publishing what their PR mentors are feeding them?

Protesters Uninterested in Voting, Political Process, Huh?

[From article]
"members of the Institute of Politics visited Dewey Square on Saturday as part of a voter registration effort to encourage civic participation both at Harvard and beyond.
“We thought it would be cool to go down to Occupy Boston to talk to people to see if they would be interested in getting involved in the political process,” said Amanda E. McGowan ’13, who chairs the IOP’s National Campaign program, which focuses on increasing voter registration on campus.
