MURDER SCENE: Police investigate the scene where Patricia Campbell was allegedly killed by her son, Paul, before he was killed by police.[From article]
“When the officers got there, they were confronted by a white male who was kind of agitated, who gave the officers some great pause,” Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said. “We’re still investigating this matter, but the individual appeared to be armed with a couple of knives and he came at the police officers.”
Both officers discharged their weapons. The male suspect was transported to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 49-year-old Paul Campbell,
The body of his mother, 72-year-old Patricia Campbell, was found on the steps leading to the home.

“While the cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, there was evidence of stabbing injury,” DA spokesman David Traub said in a statement.
