They allege that Spagnolo, who also goes by the nickname “Crazy Eyes,” ordered Quintina, an alleged “made” Mafia member, to collect the payments from the owners of Constitution Vending Co. for roughly seven years, ending in October 2012.
The previous owners also made payments for a decade prior, authorities said. The new owner, authorities said in an indictment, “understood and was afraid that if Constitution did not continue to make these protection payments, the (mafia) would force Constitution to remove its machines from the bars and social clubs that hosted them
and permit other vendors to install their own video poker machines.”
