[Notice from Michael Brandon, Minster of Information for the North Cambridge Stabilization Committee.]
Susan E. Clippinger, longtime director the Cambridge Traffic and Parking Department (somehow renamed the Traffic, Parking and Transportation Department without local or state legislative authorization) has announced that she will officially retire and leave her staff position on November 14. She expects to continue working for the Community Development and TPT departments as a paid consultant to the Planning Board.
According to Ms. Clippinger, City Manager Richard Rossi has not found a replacement for her and will appoint an interim department head until he does (someone other than Transportation Planner Adam Shulman). On sound information and belief--despite persistent rumors to the contrary--the city's new transportation chief will not be George Teso, Lauren Preston, Richard Easler, or Steve Kaiser.
If your skill set matches the incumbent director's and you can reach the local post office without getting trapped in a traffic snarl or rundown in a crosswalk by a bicyclist or speeding motorist, apply now or forever hold your peace.
