Cell Phones Can Cause Cancer

Posted July 31, 2015 4:17 PM ET; Last updated August 11, 2015 8:08 PM ET

DAVID PAUL MORRIS/GETTY IMAGES
Cell phone-induced health problems could take decades to develop.

This study does not address being in an environment where Wi-Fi signals are being broadcast 24/7. If the radiation can cause cancer over long periods of cell phone use, what effect does the radiation have if it comes from the signals not the phones. It is the same radiation, with or without the phones.

Over the past 15 years most investigations into the safety of mobile phones have failed to turn up conclusive results either way. However several have suggested a link between a type of brain tumour called a glioma and intensive, long-term use.

[From article]
Mobile phones pose a 'very real risk' to human health, a new study claims.
Radiation from wireless devices such as phones and tablets could be linked to a number of health risks, from cancer to diseases of the brain such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, the researchers state.
They claim this is because the radiation causes an 'imbalance' - or oxidative stress - in the body.
Oxidative stress is a damaging process thought to be closely linked to degenerative diseases.
The new study is a review of experimental data on the effects of radiofrequency radiation in living cells - basically how mobiles phones may damage a person's DNA.
[. . .]
After long-term exposure, it is also linked to other minor disorders such as headache, fatigue, and skin irritation, he says.
[. . .]
When reactive oxygen species levels increase dramatically, this can cause significant damage to cell structures - this is known as oxidative stress.
The article argues that while reactive oxygen species are often produced in cells due to aggressive environments, they can also be provoked by 'ordinary wireless radiation'.
'These data are a clear sign of the real risks this kind of radiation poses for human health,' Dr Yakymenko said.
[. . .]
The study, published in the journal Electromagnetic Biology & Medicine, is the latest in a long-running exploration of mobile-phone safety.
It was done in collaboration between scientists at Indiana University, the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Campinas in Brazil.
Over the past 15 years most investigations have failed to turn up conclusive results either way, although several have suggested a link between a type of brain tumour called a glioma and intensive, long-term use.
The latest official stance is that radiofrequency (RFR)/microwave radiation has a 'possible carcinogenic effect'.
[. . .]
Scientists there said the devices could 'possibly' cause cancer in humans but there was not enough evidence to come to a clear conclusion.
The type of radiation used in communications, electronic and other devices is called non-ionising radiation.
Most non-ionising radiation has less energy than ionising radiation, this means it doesn’t have enough energy to change our cells in the same way as ionising radiation.
According to Cancer Research UK, the scientific evidence currently shows it's unlikely that mobile phones could increase the risk of brain tumours, or any other type of cancer.

Yakymenko’s meta-study — basically a study of hundreds of other studies — reveals many findings of previous researchers into how radiofrequency from your phone can damage DNA.
That damage can add up over time and cause a variety of health problems, like cancer, headaches, fatigue and even skin problems.
For example, using your phone for just 20 minutes a day for five years increased the risk of one type of brain tumor threefold, and using the phone an hour a day for four years upped the risk of some tumors three to five times, Yakymenko said.
[. . .]
“(Our) data were obtained on adults who used cell phones mostly up to 10 years as adults,” he said. “The situation can dramatically differ for children who use cells phone in childhood, when their biology much more sensitive to hazardous factors, and will use it over the life.”
To minimize your risk, use your phone less and go hands-free to keep the frequency away from your head, Yakymenko said.

Russians Develop Microwave Gun To Take Down Drones

[From article]
Sputnik describes UIMC’s “microwave gun” as a “super-high-frequency gun capable of deactivating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and the warheads of precision weapons” from a 360-degree, 10-kilometer range.
The microwave-based anti-drone weapon reportedly disables “radio electronics” in drones, including the unmanned vehicle’s cameras, turning any UAV into an aimless projectile.
[. . .]
The U.S. has a similar microwave weapon in development, the “Counter-electronics high-powered Microwave Advanced Missile Project” missile targets electronics inside buildings. The CHAMP missile would shut down computers, radio communication and other electronic functions to disable a building’s defenses.
Russia’s microwave gun is also reportedly capable of suppressing the radio equipment of low-altitude aircraft and the ability to scramble the guidance, precision systems in drones and assault vehicles on the ground.

Invention Captures Microwaves, Converts to Electricity

The future: The device that is capable of harvesting microwave signals from the air consists of five fiberglass and copper conductors wired together on a circuit board.

Proud: Alexander Katko (left) and Allen Hawkes (right) pioneered the breakthrough. 'It's possible to use this design for a lot of different frequencies and types of energy, including vibration and sound energy harvesting,' said Katk.

[From article]
Engineers at Duke University have designed a breakthrough gadget that 'harvests' background microwave radiation and converts it into electricity, with the same efficiency as solar panels.
The development, unveiled on Thursday, raises exciting possibilities such as recharging a phone wirelessly and providing power to remote locations that can't access conventional electricity.
And the researchers say that their inexpensive invention is remarkably versatile. It could be used to capture 'lost' energy from a range of sources such as satellite transmissions, sound signals or Wi-Fi.

Delusions Are Dependent on Who Is Delusional

[From article]
When Aaron Alexis called the Rhode Island police a month ago to tell them that enemies were harassing him with a microwave machine, it was clear that he was suffering paranoid delusions and needed help. But the authorities let him go his merry way, evidently to sink deeper into the madness he mistook for reality.
Liberals blame shooting deaths on guns. Conservatives including the NRA blame shooting deaths on mental illness. Both are nonsensical. In addition Lowry accepts the FBI denial that microwave, electromagnetic radiation weapons exist. If that is so the North Koreans have exceeded the development of the United States in new technology. Perhaps the North Koreans were attacking Alexis. It certainly was not the CIA who huffed and puffed, tried and tried for 60 years spending millions if not billions on developing electromagnetic radiation weapons, but failed to do so.

Police Using Taxpayer Funds For Military Weapons

Not certain that I agree with this comment from the ACLU spokesman. Police do stop crimes in progress. But the amount of heavy duty firepower is problematic. What is troubling is that this article omits any mention of less than lethal weapons, including but not limited to electrical weapons and microwave weapons (beyond TASERs) which can be used to torment and to kill civilians. Only three states (MA, ME and MI) have laws regulating use of these weapons. The lack of awareness by journalists, ACLU lawyers, and politicians is of great concern to the thousands of victims of this high tech abuse. These newest weapons are used by police criminals and private criminals. When the victims complain they are treated as if they are mentally ill, due to the ignorance of the rest of the population.

“With local law enforcement, their mission is to solve crimes after they’ve happened, and to ensure that people’s constitutional rights are protected in the process,” says Jesselyn McCurdy, senior legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. “The military obviously has a mission where they are fighting an enemy. When you use military tactics in the context of law enforcement, the missions don’t match, and that’s when you see trouble with the overmilitarization of police.”

Electromagnetic Radiation Research

Why EMR research is so rudimentary today, although radar research goes back to WWII. See below:

1. Daily Mail, Sunday Nov. 15 2009, Stanford U. study shows EMR reduces sperm quality, recommends further study

2. 2004 book, Bioelectromagnetic Medicine, says EMR will be significant medical field of study

3. Microwave Debate, author, professor, Steneck writes that 2/3rd of EMR research is funded by military, health studies underfunded, military's great interest. (1984)

Dangerous work: Home chores could reduce a man's fertility

It's the get-out clause work-shy husbands have been praying for for years.

A study has found that household chores - including using a vacuum cleaner or microwave oven - could reduce a man's chances of having children.

Researchers exposed male volunteers to electromagnetic fields - high doses of which are produced by all electrically charged objects, including refrigerators and vacuum cleaners - and found such exposure could double the risk of having poor-quality sperm.

Fertility expert Dr De-Kun Li said his work provides the first evidence of a link between electrical goods and declining male fertility.

Dr Li, of Stanford University, California, said: 'I would advise men and couples trying for a baby to reduce their exposure to electromagnetic fields as much as possible.

'I'm not saying you shouldn't use a microwave but it makes sense to turn it on, then move away and go back when it is done. Keep devices, especially those with electric motors, away from the body.'

The study recruited 148 donors at a sperm bank in Shanghai. Tests showed that 76 had poor sperm mobility, shape or count, while 72 had good-quality sperm.

Those volunteers whose job involved working with high temperatures or being exposed to chemicals linked to sperm damage such as solvents and pesticides were excluded.

Participants were asked to wear meters which took readings of magnetic fields every four seconds for 24 hours on days they considered 'typical'.

They found that the half of the group who had peak readings above 0.16 microtesla - a measure of magnetic field strength - were twice as likely to have low sperm quality as those with readings below this level.

Dr Li's team also revealed that the chances of having poor sperm quality increased as the time exposed to higher-strength magnetic fields rose.

He said of the research, due to be published in January in the journal Reproductive Toxicology:

'This is the first study to show a link between measured electromagnetic fields and poor semen quality in humans, which may provide a logical explanation for why we have seen reductions in sperm quality in men over the past century.'

Although the study did not look at what was producing the magnetic fields, electrical appliances - especially those containing motors such as hairdryers - produce high frequencies and therefore strong magnetic fields.

In previous studies, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, a poor diet, drug use and obesity have all been shown to reduce sperm count.

Dr Allan Pacey, of the British Fertility Society and a fertility researcher at Sheffield University, said: 'I believe there might be something in it.

'If these results are repeated in a bigger study, we need to start thinking seriously about promoting advice about avoiding exposure.'

................................................................................................................................................................................
The 2004 book, Bioelectromagnetic Medicine edited by Dr. Paul J. Rosch and Dr. Marko S. Markov illustrated that the growing evidence and interest in nonthermal bioeffects of EMR is continuing. ( Note that U.S. military official statement in 2007 Washinton Post article:

"The official U.S. Air Force position is that there are no non-thermal
effects of microwaves. Yet Dennis Bushnell, chief scientist at NASA's
Langley Research Center, tagged microwave attacks against the human brain as
part of future warfare in a 2001 presentation to the National Defense
Industrial Association about "Future Strategic Issues."

"That work is exceedingly sensitive" and unlikely to be reported in any
unclassified documents, he says."

Dr. Rosch wrote the following excerpt on the FEW trailblazers in the field of bioelectromagnetic medicine, including Dr. Ross Adey and Dr. Robert O. Becker.

In the decade to come, it is safe to predict, bioelectromagnetics will assume a therapeutic importance equal to, or greater than, that of pharmacology and surgery today. With proper interdisciplinary effort, significant inroads can be made in controlling the ravages of cancer, some forms of heart disease, arthritis, hormonal disorders, and neurological scrounges such as Alzheimer's disease, spinal cord injury, and multiple sclerosis. This prediction is not pie-in-the-sky. Pilot studies and biological mechanisms already described in primordial terms, form a rational basis for such a statement- J. Andrew L. Bassett, 1992

Andy Bassett was one of the early advocates of the use of electromagnetic fields for uniting fractures that refused to heal. Unfortunately, he died before he could see that his prophecy would come true well ahead of schedule. In many respects this book is a tribute to him and other pioneers such as Bob Becker, Abe Liboff, Bjorn Nordenstrom, and Ross Adey who recognized the vast potential of bioelectromagnetic medicine and have helped to put it on a solid scientific footing.

.................................................................................................................

A February 1985 Omni magazine article Mind Fields by Kathleen McAuliffe included an interview of science historian Nicholas Steneck who summarized the scientific uncertainty surrounding EMR bioeffects research;

Science historian Nicholas Steneck published the [1984] book, The Microwave Debate. Steneck acknowledges that two thirds of all support for research on biological effects of microwaves and radio waves comes from the military, "which cannot be viewed as a disinterested party when it comes to making decisions about development versus health. Groups with a vested interest in the use of electromagnetic technologies are proving to be a formidable force in shaping public health policies. . . . basic research in this area has barely crept forward, with investigators under constant fire for challenging accepted ideas. According to psychobiologist Rochell Medici, who stood at the vanguard of brain EMF studies in the early seventies, "It is as though scientists had retreated from doing challenging, frontier studies because such research engendered too much controversy or elicited too much criticism." The upshot of all this: We now lack a scientific framework needed to make sense of the diverse range of EMF health effects being reported in ever-increasing numbers."

Happy Shock

Happy Shock

Here’s the latest abuse created by psychiatric madmen. This involves use of magnetic coils, for patients whose traditional treatment “failed.” This sounds like one of the many attempts to cure schizophrenia described by Robert Whitaker in his book, “Mad in America.” Whitaker describes the thousands of people who were legally brutalized by psychiatric madmen who tormented them to try to cure an illness that may not exist.
Previous uses of electrical treatments were demonstrated by Jose Delgado and in one of Nick Begich’s books about electromagnetic radiation, “Angels Don’t Play This HAARP.” One solution is to pretend to be happy in order to keep these criminal predators away.
There are already alternative experiments being conducted by criminal researchers on unsuspecting humans using electromagnetic radiation and pulsed microwaves, which are promoted as another way to “cure” depression.
When psychiatrists promote “alternative” treatments to toxic drugs, be aware that there are more terrible ways to destroy your brain. If you allow the priests of psychiatry to do it, they will.
