The drivers want Cambridge lawmakers to level the playing field so they can make a living.

Public Records Are Not My Job

The reaction to deleted emails in violation of the Public Records Act is typical in Massachusetts where laws are optional. (ADAM REILLY, "Menino's junked mail," Boston Phoenix, September 16, 2009) Elected officials share this attitude with journalists, voters and bureaucrats. The Attorney General ignores the issue; "I'm late for a very important date!" City Hall says: "Public records? What public records? I don't got to show you no stinkin public records."
