Politicians avoid controversial issues. Is this due to ignorance, fear or both? The Russian government relayed to the FBI potential terror related information about Tamerlan Tsarnaev long before the bombings. Due to political correctness the information was ignored. The FBI said they told the Joint Terrorism Task Force which included Boston police. Politicians are clueless about misguided police priorities. Like hard working people, and water, police, who claim they are human, seek the paths of least resistance. Watching violent and dangerous persons is avoided. Watching and harassing vulnerable harmless citizens is preferred. Two recent murders of young women exhibit this pattern. The suspect in the murder of Amy Lord, 24, in South Boston, July 23, 2013 is a man well known to police with a history of violence against women. Suspect Jared W. Remy in the murder of live-in girlfriend, Jennifer Martel, 27, also was known to police and was arrested for domestic violence the day before the murder. Police were not watching him. But they and other organizations have an extensive program of surveillance of political activists, critics of politicians and other undesirable persons. That frees up the violent men and women to go about their business without interruption. Misguided public safety priorities are never addressed by politicians. Are they trying to avoid scrutiny by police and the FBI?
