Improving and Maintaining Relationships

Saying thank you and showing appreciation is a gesture that can transform your relationship, says Tracey (Pictured posed by models)

[From article]
We hear lots about the millions of pounds poured into studies on sex and love in a bid to make us happier in our relationships every year.
But here’s some key findings from the last year of research and how to make them work practically for you.
[. . .]
It’s not the amount of money each of you has that predicts the success of a relationship, it’s how you manage it.
A significant study by the Federal Reserve Board in the US found couples who have similar credit scores have a higher chance of making it long term than those who don’t.
The better your score, the better your chances. Which makes sense when you think about it.
Managing finances requires maturity, being able to resist instant gratification and planning for the future: all are also good relationship skills.
[. . .]
No surprises that communicating effectively and regularly once more turned up in research to be integral to relationship satisfaction.
But research by US psychology university professors (Drexel University) found couples who ‘sexted’ each other – sent sexually explicit or suggestive texts or photos – were more sexually satisfied than those who didn’t.
The professors found a ‘robust relationship’ between sexting and relationship happiness which is good news because 82 per cent of us sexted in the last year (though, sadly, not all were sent to our partner!)
[. . .]
Rather than berate your partner for not doing something/thinking something/behaving in a way you wouldn’t, accept that they’re different and allow them to be.
[. . .]
expressing appreciation through every day gestures – like making a cup of tea or actually saying ‘Thanks for doing that’ – meant more than grand declarations or expensive gifts and holidays.

[. . .]
avoid the same old routine and do something fresh and different once a week.

"Hi, I'm Steve Kroft." Too Hot For 60 Minutes?

Another time, the 69-year-old newsman asked Goines, 41, “What exactly would be your preference,” the Enquirer reported.
“U all over and deep inside of me,” Goines responded.
[. . .]
“Working late. Just ordered out. Would rather be eating your pudding,” he allegedly wrote.
[. . .]
The newsman — who boasted to Goines that he was the “go-to’’ interviewer for President Obama — had some particularly unusual tastes in bed, the mag said. One time, he was “pouring champagne in her behind and drinking the bubbly,” the report claims.
[. . .]
Kroft and Goines, who is also married, consummated the affair a week after he first passed her his hotel key, the report said, when the soon-to-be lovers met at the $700-a-night Four Seasons hotel.
“Steve booked the room for two nights,” the source told the magazine. “The first night they had oral sex, and the second night, they went the whole way.”

Married Pennsylvania Couple Sentenced To Life in Prison For Senseless Murder

[From article]
Miranda Barbour picked up LaFerrara at a mall in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, and drove him to Sunbury. Once they parked, Elytte Barbour came out of his hiding place under a blanket in the back seat and held a cord tight against LaFerrara’s neck while his petite wife stabbed the 6-foot-2, 278-pound man about 20 times. They dumped his body in an alley.
Elytte Barbour later told police the couple killed LaFerrara because they wanted to kill someone together.

Newlyweds Murder For Fun

[From article]
Following his wife’s arrest, Elytte Barbour told The Daily Item of Sunbury his wife, whom he married on Oct. 22, regularly hired herself out as a “companion” to men she met on various websites, a business venture he said he supported because it did not involve sexual contact.
Barbour said his wife made anywhere from $50 to $850 for meeting with men for such activities as having dinner or walking around a mall. The ads she placed on websites including Craigslist all said upfront that sex was not part of the deal, he said.
“She is not a prostitute,” he said. “What she does is meet men who have broken marriages or have no one in their lives and she meets with them and has delightful conversation.”

it is believed Huff-Ricci had agreed to sleep with them in exchange for meth.

The Costume Party

A couple was invited to a swanky costume party. The Mrs. got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone.
He being a devoted husband protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed and there was no need for his good time being spoiled by not going.
So he took his costume and away he went. The wife, after sleeping soundly for about an hour, awakened without pain and, as it was still early, decided to go the party.
Since her husband did not know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when she was not with him.
She joined the party and soon spotted her husband cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice woman he could, and copping a little feel here and a little kiss there.
His wife sidled up to him and being a rather seductive babe herself, he left his current partner high and dry and devoted his time to the new babe that had just arrived. She let him go as far as he wished ,naturally, since he was her husband.
Finally, he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed.
So off they went to one of the cars and had a quickie.
Just before unmasking at midnight, she slipped away, went home, put the costume away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make for his behavior.
She was sitting up reading when he came in, and she asked what kind of a time he had. He said: "Oh, the same old thing. You know I never have a good time when you're not there."
- "Did you dance much ?"
- "I'll tell you, I never even danced one dance. When I got there, I met Pete, Bill Brown and some other guys, so we went into the den and played poker all evening. But you're not going to believe what happened to the guy I loaned my costume to...."
