Martin G. Evans
Business school Prof. Evans defines intergenerational mobility as, "what are your chances of doing better or worse than your parents?" He does not explain what he means by "better." But the discussion remains focused on earning money. He refers to "hope" among "poor persons" and cites research about undefined "social mobility." Evans notes differences between conservatives and liberals, but still about money. Making more money is upward mobility? Due to inflation most children do "better" than their parents.
