State Police pulled a woman's body from the Charles River this morning, authorities said.
A boater called police around 6:50 a.m., today after finding the body floating in the river near the Mass. Ave bridge, according to State Police spokesman David Procopio.
The State Police marine unit and Cambridge Fire Department divers recovered the woman's body shortly after, Procopio said, and detectives assigned to the Suffolk County district attorney's office will investigate the circumstances of the woman's death.
Jake Wark, a spokesman for the district attorney's office, said the woman was believed to be in her 30s. Investigators have made a tentative identification, but will only release her name if her death is "believed to be the result of criminal conduct," he said.
