Irrelevant Facts Reported
The suspect shot by police "was unemployed, and had a history of mental illness and a lengthy arrest record." Do those three attributes taken together mean that a person so situated will likely use a knife to attack police? Will any one of them make a person dangerous and violent? Was this man taking any psychiatric drugs, a more likely cause of violence than any of the three mentioned. How many more times will irrelevant facts be reported as if they were a cause of a crime?
