Relevance of Art

Flash Mob, Relevant?

Art must be relevant? To what? To contemporary awareness? How many young people have any sense of perspective? Many young people think two weeks ago is ancient history. Few have any awareness of truths exhibited by artists, writers, painters, composers, playwrights. Truths of 5,000 years ago are still true today. Humans have not changed. Many well educated people think humans are evolved into a higher form. If a crowd, e.g., flash mob, celebrates an event does that make the expression relevant?
