Egypt May Not Function Long As A Democracy
Without US military and economic aid Egypt would be a very poor nation. Democracy necessitates responsibility. Without a tradition of tolerating opposition (as at Harvard) it is unlikely that any democracy would succeeed for very long. See how intolerant Americans are to those with whom they disagree? The US was founded as a democracy. But you would never know that from listening to how the best and the brightest academics speak. Perhaps it was Honest Abe Lincoln who said this nation will never fail from external attacks. It will only fail from enemies within.
