Margery Eagan laments "The days of blind trust are long gone." (Boston Herald, November 6, 2007) But the days of blind trust of psychiatry are here to stay. Eagan does not question psychiatry and what a mental illness is -- the personal opinion of a group of people masquerading as scientists.
Eagan indicates irrational prejudice toward persons with disabilities. What is the rational basis for saying in this story the suspect "spent part of August in a psychiatric ward after making paranoid statements to his wife?"
If paranoia is a cause of crime, police officers, members of crime
families, politicians, psychiatrists, soldiers, spies and radio talk show hosts must be locked up in a hospital before they commit crimes.
Why is "mental illness" the only form of illness that police enforce
diagnoses? Why don't police force people with rashes and broken legs to get treatment?
Do all persons accused of mental illness commit crimes? If they do why not put them all in jail? It would save a lot of time and money with the courts. Why not force all people to take drugs until the drug companies have all the money?
Eagan ignores scientific studies which show that psychiatric drugs are
often the cause of violence. That is because of her blind trust of psychiatrists and drug companies.

I knew Jeremy Motyka, as a young child. This may be off topic- but I thought I would add my two cents. Even as a child, Jeremy Motyka was a worthless piece of sh-t! In the Fifth Grade, he stole the skateboard that my grandmother gave me for Christmas. I hope he rots in hell.
I came to know this scumbag through a friend. And you'll all be happy to know i gave him a beatin of a lifetime before he committed this horrific crime. i guess i should of beat him worse maybe that lady would still be alive
I came to meet this "Scum Bag" Jeremy Motyka through a friend and saw how psychologically disturbed he was. Through an incident that happened you will all be happy to know about two months before he committed this murder I beat his a-s \ bad. I guess i should of beat him a little more maybe that poor lady would still be alive.

One of the victim's sons is a History teacher at my school. He and his family are also good family friends, and told me firsthand about the experiance of having to go through toe search and trial for his Mother's killer. The fact that this monster even considered for a minute a reduced sentance is baffeling, considering the hell poor Mrs. Spence-Shaw's family has had to go through. You can still see how much it's hurt my teacher, her son, to this day
