MA DA Shows Bigotry

Journalist Johnson says, "A British citizen with a history of mental illness pleaded guilty yesterday to second-degree murder." (O’Ryan Johnson, "Brit pleads guilty in grandma slay," Boston Herald, December 23, 2010) Does he suggest that the mental illness caused the murder? The report does not mention whether psychiatric chemicals were ingested by the defendant. The drug industry fears any mention of drugs with violence. Even the drug-industry-controlled FDA knows that drugs can cause violence. Especially when they are started then stopped. If stopping causes violence why start? It is good for business to have court ordered druggings. The DA shows his support for the psychiatric industry and bigotry contrary to state and US laws: he argues that a disability causes crime! Would he argue that being black causes crime? Has this politicians ever questioned what the psychiatric charlatans say under oath in court? Allowing mitigation of crime due to a fake illness shows how misguided the courts are these days. The DA shows a lack of awareness of the abuses of psychiatry by police and defense lawyers to avoid due process.

Fund Raising Letter From the DA

This appears to be a fund-raising letter from the District Attorney whining for more taxpayer money. It is propaganda not a balanced presentation of how the courts work. He omits inconvenient facts. It is another example of a one-party state government that keeps the herd bewildered (as Noam Chomsky would say). With no opposition to challenge what is alleged to be facts, the DA makes his case on partial information. How much money spent by local and state police departments is excluded from the funding statistics? Do defense counsel have police doing investigations for them? The District Attorney for Middlesex failed to discuss the quality of counsel provided by prosecutors and defense. How many Assistant DAs abuse their power using threats to force settlements? When was the last time that a prosecuting attorney searched for the truth rather than making sure of a conviction? When was the last time that the DA looked for corruption among the elected criminal class, or even among court personnel? A substantial waste of taxpayer funds are the salaries of the five or more attorneys which make up the MLAC (Mass Legal Assistance Corporation). That is a state mandated non profit for administering the money appropriated each year for legal services. Each attorney makes more than $125,000 per year. That would fund five or more attorneys for prosecution or defense. How hard is it to give money away? The Spending Other People's Money Society thrives in Massachusetts. The DA fails to mention the appointment by the court of part time lawyers beyond CPCS, to represent indigents. These lawyers often have no morals. They take taxpayer funds to defend their clients and then accept money from others to not put on any defense. A greater waste of taxpayer money is the funding of psychiatry and psychology. Those disciplines pretend to be science based. They are actually personal opinion masquerading as science. Either the DA is clueless of what really goes on in the courthouse or he pretends not to know.

Media Watchdog Needs Watching

Who watches media watchdogs? ( DAN KENNEDY, "The 13th Annual Muzzle Awards," Boston Phoenix, July 2, 2010) Kennedy's conclusion about the arrest of Prof. Gates is contrary to police procedure. This is more than bias. This is fantasy.
He says, "Crowley should have understood why Gates believed he had been racially profiled." Huh? How can anyone expect a police officer to know what is in a person's mind? Not even the court will guess that. Continuing on his fantasy, Kennedy says, "he [Crowley] arrested Gates and charged him with disturbing the peace — a charge that Middlesex County District Attorney Gerard Leone dropped as soon as it hit his desk." The Cambridge City Manager explained at a City Council meeting [on television] that Gerry Leone abdicated his authority to the Cambridge City Solicitor (Drisdell) and a private attorney (former MBTA Counsel) to "negotiate" the charge. These two men decided to dismiss the complaint not Leone.

Kennedy says, without any evidence, "What has been firmly established is that a man who had done nothing wrong, standing in his own home, was arrested, handcuffed, and taken to the police station solely for mouthing off to a police officer." Why was the charge against this man dismissed before arraignment, while hundreds of others have had to go to court and maybe pretrial jail for the same offense?

Why is there no outrage for the special treatment of Gates? Why are the abuses of power by the Mayor, the Governor and the President using their offices for personal reasons ignored?

Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone blamed her mental illness
for what she did. (Fox 25 10 O'Clock News January 18, 2008) It is
convenient but there is no causal connection. Leone's misguided notion
of what psychiatry is, is not unique. It is pervasive among lawyers,
police and prosecutors.
Revealing medical conditions is a violation of state and US
privacy laws. Law enforcement officials are not exempt. This too is
pervasive among lawyers, prosecutors and police.
The brief treatment referred to if it involved drugs may have
caused her behavior, not an illness made up by consensus.

Woman Killed Self, 2 Children on I-495

Thirty-nine-year-old Marcelle Thibault of Bellingham, her 5-year-old
niece Kaleigh Lambert and her 4-year-old nephew, Shane Lambert, were
killed on January 11th when they were hit by oncoming traffic.

Woman, Two Children Struck and Killed on Interstate 495

A woman who had picked up her niece and nephew for a sleep-over party
instead drove them onto a busy highway, took them into her arms and
walked into the road to be killed by oncoming traffic in what
authorities said Friday was a double-murder suicide.

Marcelle Thibault and the children of her twin sister, 5-year-old
Kaleigh Lambert and 4-year-old Shane Lambert, both of Brentwood, N.H.,
were killed on Jan. 11 when they were struck by two cars.

Thibault, 39, of Bellingham, was driving her 2003 Lincoln sedan south
on the interstate that night when she turned the car sharply, crossed
the median and northbound lanes and then began driving against traffic
in the breakdown lane, authorities said.

She then stopped on the right side of the road, got out of the car and
removed her clothes and undressed the children. She picked them up and
walked onto the highway.

"There are not many other scenarios I can think of that are as tragic
as this one," District Attorney Gerry Leone said. "It is beyond
belief, it is unimaginable, it is unspeakable, and it was a horrible
tragedy."

Leone said the Lamberts, whom he described as loving parents, would
not have allowed their children to go with their aunt if they were not
certain they would be safe.

Leone said Thibault had received treatment for mental illness. Paul
Young, a spokesman for the Lambert family and friend from St.
Michael's Parish in Exeter, N.H., did not know the details, but said
it was a "brief, isolated incident in her life" within the past year.

"She appeared to be fully recovered from that, and there was no
indication of a relapse," he said.

Leone said no drugs or alcohol were involved. He blamed her mental
illness for what she did and said it was impossible to determine any
motive.

"It is far too complicated, too complex a dynamic and illness for us
to be able to make any real determinations about what exactly the
cause was or what exactly was in her mind," he said.

Leone said Thibault had picked up her niece and nephew to go to her
house for a "pirate and princess weekend." Young said the woman, who
had two teenage children, often took her sister's kids for special
weekends.

"They have a fairly close family as a whole," Young said. "They were
twin sisters, so obviously that bond."

Young said Kaleigh and Shane, the only children of Ken and Danielle
Lambert, were typical youngsters, full of energy and well behaved.

"They're a great family," Young said.

The family pleaded for prayers and privacy in a statement released
through the district attorney's office.

"This is a time of terrible tragedy for our families. We love Marci,
Kaleigh, and Shane and we miss them very much," the statement said.
"We ask everyone to join us in prayer for their souls, and to help us
get through this most difficult period of our lives. We ask that the
media respect our privacy and allow us the time to grieve and heal as
we mourn our great loss."
