Harvard University Students Urge Anonymous Sex Offense Complaints By Smart Phones

"an app that allows students to electronically and anonymously report instances of sexual assault" Is anyone aware that smart phones are not secure? That they can be hacked. That apps seldom have any security?
But even with security what prevents spoofing? Two anonymous complaints?

Anonymous threatens Israel with ‘electronic Holocaust’
ISRAEL ISRAEL: THE REAL WAR, IGNORED BY JIHAD MEDIA

* * *

[From article]
The cyber activist group Anonymous has issued a chilling video statement threatening Israel with an 'electronic Holocaust' in response to what it calls 'crimes in the Palestinian territories'.
The clip is edited in the style of a television news report and features a masked and suited individual sitting behind a desk and reading from a pre-prepared script as he declares plans for a massive cyber attack on April 7 - one week before Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Declaring Palestinians youths a 'symbol of freedom', Anonymous says it will take down 'servers, government websites, Israeli military websites, and Israeli institutions' in a move that will 'erase [Israel] from cyberspace in our electronic Holocaust'.

NY US Court Rules Police Cannot Make Arrests Based on Anonymous Tips

[From article]
A panel of Manhattan federal judges says cops must now investigate anonymous 911 calls — before they can investigate the crimes being reported.
The Second Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday overturned the conviction of an ex-con caught by cops carrying a gun in 2011 as two of the three judges on the panel found the anonymous tips the officers relied on didn’t offer enough “reasonable suspicion” for them to stop and search the defendant Joseph Freeman.

Online Help Fighting Mexican Drug Cartels

[From article]
"It is common knowledge that members of local, state and federal governments in Mexico support various cartel groups. In the state of Veracruz, it is generally believed that some members of the state government support Los Zetas, the dominant cartel there.
[. . .]
Mexico’s various cartels long have used the Internet to trumpet their triumphs on the battlefield and to taunt and even degrade their enemies. The cartels have posted videos of the torture, execution and desecration of the corpses of rivals. They also frequently monitor narcoblogs and sometimes even post on them. As demonstrated by the September blogger killings in Nuevo Laredo, Los Zetas appear to possess at least some rudimentary capability to trace online activity to people in the physical world. They are known to employ their own team of dedicated cyber experts and to have sources within the Mexican government.
In addition to technical intelligence, the Zetas can use old-fashioned human intelligence to track down their online enemies.
[. . .]
Even if Anonymous cannot provide information that damages Los Zetas smuggling operations, the very fact that the collective has decided publicly to challenge Los Zetas will result in some sort of response.
[. . .]
Mexico has become one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists, and many media organizations practice heavy self-censorship to protect themselves.
[. . .] As a result, many Mexicans believe the mainstream media are not of any real assistance in the face of cartel violence.
