FBI Agent Shot Wife Four Times, Found Not Guilty, NBC News, Dateline

I think he was guilty of murder. Why I love video you can see where he lies. The judge's decision did not make sense to me. If the prosecutor provided sufficient evidence of manslaughter, he was guilty. If there was reasonable doubt the prosecution did not prove its case. I don't understand the notion of reasonable doubt, the way she applied it. Maybe she just made it up as a compromise.

Ex-Special Agent Arthur Gonzales, found not guilty, by reasonable doubt, of shooting his wife dead. Fired By FBI.

FBI agent Arthur B. Gonzales and wife Julie, had two sons, met in college from New Mexico. He shot her, said she came it him with a knife. She worked at FBI as a civilian evidence gatherer.
Cara Cast colleague of Arthur at FBI. Her panties found in his in bedroom. She is 20 years younger than Art. Cara dumped Art for younger agent.

Father said wife Julie was not a drinker. Julie took psychiatric medications, was seeing a shrink went to rehab. Arthur indicted 3 weeks after event for second degree murder. Released on bond, suspended without pay. Later fired from FBI.Lied to his sister about self defense.

March 2014 trial. Art testified, facing 40 years. After three days, mistrial due to deadlock.Some agents testified against him. Jury was divided 10 to 2 for acquittal.

Jan 2015 second trial, Art free on bond. Second trial jury had trouble also, dispute over him doing CPR. Closed door meeting of lawyers. Agreed to dismiss murder charge. Second hung jury 10 to 2 for guilty. Prosecutor declared a third trial but this one a bench trial, no jury.

July 27, 2015, Sara Denihy judge, Arthur faced only ten years for manslaughter charge. Judge found sufficient evidence for manslaughter, but also there was reasonable doubt, and found him not guilty
