Cambridge, MA High School Students Recognize Difference Between Perception and Reality

“In Cambridge, there’s a difference between perception and reality,” [student Gregorio Leon] said. “There’s this perception of being an ultra-liberal utopia, which can often lead to a lack of questioning about who we really are. That complacency is very dangerous, and good to challenge.” is an accurate observation not limited to CRLS. 



Tell that to $37 billion endowed Harvard University, local, state and US governments which abuse taxpayers and voters. 



One Cambridge gentleman was described as a retired drug dealer for 35 years by the FBI as part of covering up serious criminal government abuses, while others described the same gentleman as homeless and crazy. Police and politicians joined in bullying a vulnerable person. This works in many areas.

Some Suffering Is Greater Than Others?

It can be exhausting trying to bring white people up to a basic racial literacy.
Many don’t even know what they don’t know about privilege and history, and often either don’t take responsibility for their own education or expect you to educate them.
And I wish there were a racial primer out there somewhere — mandatory reading — with five or 10 basic facts about housing, education, criminal justice and employment.

I’m an extrovert. I genuinely love people and since we share this country, my instinct is always to try to understand. So let me say this: For everybody who recalls the hard work and sacrifice of their parents or grandparents, and all the ways they’ve had to struggle to make their way in this world, I hear you. I do not doubt the heart and authenticity of those success narratives. I just ask that you also understand those narratives simply do not hold true for huge swaths of your fellow Americans.

Facts Differ From Perception in Cambridge MA

what makes that story all the more incredible is that for their formative teenage years, the brothers grew up where they did, in possibly the least plausible breeding ground for anti-American resentment.

 Dzhokhar wrestled on the school team for three years and was captain for two. His coach called him “one of the most well-adjusted kids on the team,” getting along with all the different subgroups.

White kids make up about a third of the student body, and blacks slightly more.

This brief article raises several questions. The author says Cambridge is "the least plausible breeding ground for anti-American resentment." What? Cambridge breeds hating America, white male conservatives, and Republicans. The author adds, "[Dzhokhar's] coach called him 'one of the most well-adjusted kids on the team[.]' What does that say about being well-adjusted? And who determines what well-adjusted means? In American public schools it means conforming. In Cambridge it mans conforming to liberalism. Finally if it is true that "White kids make up about a third of the [CRLS] student body, and blacks slightly more." It undermines the local politicians constant demands for more special treatment for [black] minorities. Blacks appear to be the majority in the Cambridge public schools.
