Jay Leno Comments on Contemporary Scene

Jay Leno

[From article]
"I think he's really funny and I think [Jimmy Kimmel]'s talented, I just think he has a bit of a mean streak," said Leno. "The best thing you can have in this job is kindness. That's the one thing you have to keep because this job makes you arrogant, it makes you think you're superior. Consequently, there's a tendency to nail the little guy. When I watch his thing where he takes the candy away from the kids at Halloween and they cry, I don't get that. That seems mean to me. I guess it's funny on some level. But on another level, it doesn't come from the heart. It comes from somewhere else. And I think that's maybe why he hasn't achieved the success he'd like to because I think he's just got a bit of a mean streak."
Before leaving the Beverly Hilton ballroom, Leno also touched on one hot-button issue: Bill Cosby and the critical mass of accusations of rape and sexual abuse levied against him in the last year.
"I don't know how you come out of there," said Leno. "I find it fascinating — how many accusers does he have now? 40? Well, 50 women come forward and people call them liars. And they go, 'Oh, you waited 40 years?' Men waited 50 years to say, 'A priest touched me,' and they got 7 million dollars. How come we believe them and we don't believe the women? It does seem awful sexist to me. … It does seem very unfair, and I'm surprised no one's ever made that analogy."

Jay Leno Too Funny, Too Old?

[From article]
“The main thing is to get people from 18 to 42 watching your station, and for 18 to 40, [Leno] is considered oldie,” Mason continued, on Leno’s release. “Obama had nothing to do with it; it’s all the age, it’s all the age range. The whole idea is to get the young people to watch, and they assume the 20-year-olds are buying everything and if you’re over 50 you’re buying nothing. They’re too stupid to realize that in fact the opposite is true. How many times do you see a 23-year-old person with a Rolls Royce?”

Born 1939-1979

Those of You Born
1930 - 1979

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were
Pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode
our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats,
No booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.

Riding in the back of a pick-up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight. WHY?

Because we were always outside playing...that's why!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, ss long as we were back when the
Streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day.. And, we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's and X-boxes.
There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable,
No video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's. No cell phones,
No personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms. WE HAD FRIENDS
And we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth
And there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and,
Although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes..

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just
Walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team.
Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.
They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best
Risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever.

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

If YOU are one of them? CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the
lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.

While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know
how brave and lucky their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it ?

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms
tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of swine flu and terrorist attacks. Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

Late Night Obama Jokes

Obama

The liberals are asking us to give Obama time. We agree . . . and think 25 to life would be appropriate.
Leno

America needs Obama-care like Nancy Pelosi needs a Halloween mask.
Leno

A: A fund raiser.
Leno

Q: What's the difference between Obama's cabinet and a penitentiary?

Letterman

A: America !
Fallon

Jay Leno is Professional

Humor is like beauty. It is in the ears and eyes of the beholder. Passive viewers only know their reaction to the comics. Performers know writers provide the material. Timing and delivery is what Leno does better than any of the current late night hosts. When young guests try to get an advantage on Leno, he puts them in their place. Jay is polite to his guests who think it is easy to do comedy. Letterman shows his meanness every night even to his guests. Conan appears to be unhappy in his body.

Obama Ridicules Special Olympics

"When asked about the bowling alley in the White House, Obama joked to Leno that his average score of 129 'was like the Special Olympics or something.'"

If the President expresses ridicule and lack of compassion for persons with physical disabilities what does he think about persons accused of mental illness? This shows the myopia of members of other alleged vulnerable groups toward persons with disabilities. This is especially apparent in Cambridge MA where I live. My efforts trying to draw attention to abuses of persons with disabilities is met with tin ears by politicians and journalists, who are persons of color, homosexuals and women.

The most recent example was for the local newspaper to censor my comments criticizing the Mayor. In the name of tolerance this city's leaders (the host city to Harvard and MIT) are intolerant of dissent.
