Lauren Hill, Cancels Concert In Tel Aviv To Avoid Alenating Fans

[From article]
Lauryn Hill is canceling a planned performance in Tel Aviv because she wasn’t able to also schedule a concert in the nearby Palestinian city of Ramallah.
The singer-songwriter said in a statement Monday that she originally intended to perform in both cities in hopes of being “a presence supporting justice and peace.”
She says setting up a show in the Palestinian territories “proved to be a challenge.” Not wanting to alienate fans, Hill canceled her concert in Israel that was to take place later this week.

“Put simply, this was a consensual act, not a sexual assault,” said attorney Neil Crowley, in a prepared statement. “There are no allegations of force or violence against him. This was a private act that regrettably occurred in a public place. Mr. Murphy deeply regrets this incident, and I am sure the young woman does as well. This young woman was neither intoxicated nor overcome by drugs at the time.”
Murphy has no criminal history, Crowley said. He was arrested during the show, according to Miliote.
“Alcohol-related issues” sent 22 fans to the hospital and 50 into protective custody, while several others — including Murphy — faced charges, authorities said. A half-dozen police and fire departments responded to the venue to assist Mansfield as dozens of fans of Urban’s “Raise ’Em Up Tour” fell ill, passed out and injured themselves, authorities told the Herald after the show.

Chicago Cancels Concert Due to Weather?

This report sounds like one more cover up of pervasive teen violence if not racial violence in Chicago. It fits the pattern described in Colin Flaherty's new book, White Girl Bleed A Lot.
