Choosing Sides When "The War on Police" Begins

[From article]
In the Rodney King case, where there was film of his extended beating with billy clubs, a Simi Valley jury refused to convict any of the four cops. In Ferguson, Michael Brown sustained half a dozen gunshot wounds. Yet officer Darren Wilson was not indicted.
On Staten Island, 350-pound Eric Garner was seen on film being taken down by five cops in an arrest that led to his death, but none of the cops was indicted.
And there is far less visible evidence of any police crime in the case of Freddie Gray than in any of those three incidents.
[. . .]
The battle lines have been drawn upon which the “War On Cops” issue will be fought out in 2016.

American Class Divide Growing

Rational discussion of problems, but an unsubstantiated conclusion.

[From article]
Social trust has fallen among all income groups, but, between 1975 and 1995, it plummeted among the poorest third of young Americans and has remained low ever since. As Putnam writes in notes prepared for the Aspen Ideas Festival: "It's perfectly understandable that kids from working-class backgrounds have become cynical and even paranoid, for virtually all our major social institutions have failed them - family, friends, church, school and community."
[. . .]
Political candidates will have to spend less time trying to exploit class divisions and more time trying to remedy them - less time calling their opponents out of touch elitists, and more time coming up with agendas that comprehensively address the problem. It's politically tough to do that, but the alternative is national suicide.

American Class Warfare

One group of professionals omitted is the psychiatric class which promotes and enforces conduct that conforms to ruling class standards, and its moral superiority. Psychiatry masquerades as science when it is only personal opinion, which conforms to behavior and speech acceptable to the ruling class.
