An Ipswich police officer accused of stealing more than $11,000 from the town’s police association denied the charge at his arraignment yesterday, officials say.
Michael Thomas, 56, pleaded not guilty in Ipswich District Court to a single charge of larceny over $250, Essex District Attorney spokesman Steve O’Connell said.
Thomas, who has been placed on administrative leave, is accused of stealing $11,056.89 from two accounts belonging to the Ipswich Police Association between July 2009 and September 2013, while working as treasurer.
