Grocery Strore Employee, Lives With Mom, Impersonates Federal Agent To Pick Up Women, It Works

Joseph Figueroa

Who could resist a badge like that? Swoon!

Somebody get my son a shrink, the shocked mother of “Fake Fed” Joseph Figueroa said after learning from The Post that he had been pretending to be a federal agent to seduce women.
“Oh, my goodness! I can’t believe it!” the 73-year-old woman said at her apartment in upper Manhattan, where she lives with Figueroa, 54.
Ever since he was a little boy, he was fascinated by cops, said the mom, who asked not to be identified.
Still, she was shocked to learn just how far he had taken his interest, leading a secret double life in which he decorated himself with badges, patches and pins and claimed to belong to a “task force” that protected abused women and children.
“This is too much for me,” the mother said hours after posting her son’s $1,500 bail in Queens Criminal Court.
“Maybe he needs psychiatric treatment or something like that,” she said.
“Believe me. He really needs it.”
The mother said she had no idea Figueroa, 54, was cross-dressing as a lawman.
He never wore his fake federal finery around the house, she said, despite his lifelong fascination with law enforcement.
