Arbitrary Scientific Standards
If the same standards used by the EPA to declare carbon dioxide a threat to human health, was used by the FDA, all psychiatric drugs would be banned. In fact the FDA uses a lower standard for psychiatric drugs. The FDA knows that anti depressants cause suicidal thoughts. The FDA requires a warning on the package but allows the drugs to be sold and ingested. Psychiatrists and the FDA know that stopping taking psychiatric drugs causes violence. If stopping causes violence why start? The FDA permits these drugs to be sold, while the EPA wants to ban breathing.
"the EPA proposed the [terms] "precautionary policy."
[. . .]
"As The Wall Street Journal's Daniel Henninger notes, under this approach, "precautionary measures" are OK if "an activity raises threats of harm to the environment or human health . . . even if some cause-and-effect relationships are not fully established scientifically."
