Wisdom Of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Except in Cambridge MA and at Harvard University

"The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists, who are dedicated to justice, peace, and brotherhood. The trailblazers in human, academic, scientific, and religious freedom have always been nonconformists. In any cause that concerns the progress of mankind, put your faith in the nonconformist!" - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Obama Intellectualism An Abomination in Real World

[From article]
there is no denying that Obama’s rudderless foreign policy has been a disaster. The international order has rapidly deteriorated since Obama entered the Oval Office. The current situation is so perilous that so long as Obama remains President, the phrase “presidential leadership” will continue to be an oxymoron.
The President suffers from two fundamental flaws. The first is that he is unwilling to make decisions. He much prefers to play the role of a disinterested observer who comments on a set of adverse events that he regards himself as powerless to shape, of which Assad’s carnage in Syria is the prime example. The second is that he fundamentally misunderstands the use of force in international affairs. He handicaps himself fatally by imposing unwise limitations on the use of American force, such as his repeated declarations that he will not send ground troops back into Iraq.
[. . .]
The number of hotspots in the world—including Gaza, Syria, Libya, Nigeria, Ukraine and the China Sea—is increasing. The President wrings his hands over how difficult it has become to find credible allies in the world to address these problems without ever asking why no one trusts him.
[. . .]
A record as dismal as Obama’s does not happen by accident.
[. . .]
He sees himself as a deep thinker who sees issues that lesser minds just miss.

Obama Lacks Military Wisdom

[From article]
Because the U.S. is contemplating an act of war which could easily trigger, then suck the U.S. into a regional war, and which could even lead to a wider conflict of World War III fought in the Mideast theater, then this act of war should indeed be analyzed and debated and voted on by our Congressional representatives, who have the sole authority under the Constitution to wage war. And, considering that Obama has demonstrated he has the ability only to make things worse, it might be better for Congress to reclaim its war-making powers (and say no to Obama) until, three-plus years from now, the White House has a new occupant who (hopefully) knows what he or she is doing.

Milton Friedman, A Small Giant of A Man

[From article]
Friedman explained to fellow economists in the 1950s that “theory is to be judged by its predictive power for the class of phenomena which it is intended to ‘explain.’” He rejected ideas that worked in smart men’s heads but failed in working men’s lives.
[...]
Friedman came from the real world. So did his economics.
[...]
“He made arguments that people found hard to answer. He made them politely, and without implying that the people who disagreed with him were stupid or wicked.”
[...]
Friedman embodied the Aristotelian wisdom: “Where both are dear, it is right to prefer truth to friends.” Good ethics proved a good career move. When honesty talks, people listen.

Wisdom

A Jewish woman goes to see her Rabbi and asks, "Yankele and Yosele are both in love with me, who will be the lucky one?''

The wise old Rabbi answers: " Yankele will marry you. Yosele will be the lucky one.

-------------------------------------------------------------

If a married Jewish man is walking alone in a park and expresses an opinion without anybody hearing him, is he still wrong?

------------------------------------------------------------

My father says, "Marry a girl who has the same belief as the family." I said, "Dad, why would I marry a girl who thinks I'm a schmuck?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Jewish Marriage advice "Don't marry a beautiful person. They may leave you. Of course, an ugly person may leave you too. But who cares?"

-----------------------------------------------------------

Morris went to his rabbi for some needed advice. "Rabbi, tell me is it proper for one man to profit from another man's mistakes?"

"No Morris, a man should not profit from another's man mistakes" answered the rabbi.

"Are you sure Rabbi?"

"Of course, I'm sure, in fact I'm positive" exclaimed the Rabbi.

" Ok, Rabbi, if you are so sure, how about returning the two hundred dollars I gave you for marrying me to my wife?"

--------------------------------------------------------

The Italian says, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have wine."

The Frenchman says, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have cognac."

The Russian says, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have vodka."

The German says, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have beer."

The Mexican says, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have tequila."

The Jewish man says, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have diabetes."

---------------------------------------------------------

Jewish proverb: "A Jewish wife will forgive and forget, but she'll never forget what she forgave."

------------------------------------------------------------------

A Jewish congregation in suburban Boston honors its Rabbi for 25 years of service by sending him to Hawaii for a week, all expenses paid. When he walks into his hotel room, he finds a beautiful nude woman lying on the bed.

She greets the Rabbi with, "Hi, Rabbi, I'm a little something extra that the President of the Temple arranged for you.

The Rabbi is incensed. He picks up the phone, calls the President of the Temple and shouts, "Greenblatt, what were you thinking? Where is your respect? I am the moral leader of our religious community! I am very angry with you and you have not heard the end of this."

Hearing this, the naked woman gets up and starts to get dressed.

The Rabbi turns to her and asks, "Where are you going? I'm not angry with you.
