There have been, thankfully, at least a handful of exceptions to the prevailing narrative. The New York Post’s Phil Mushnick, long resistant to the group-think of the sports media fraternity, took aim at ESPN’s moral posturing, pointing out that Ray Lewis, another of the network’s analysts quick to condemn Incognito, was himself famously implicated in a still-unsolved double murder “and eventually paid off the families of the victims.” But, hey, “Nobody’s perfect.” He might have added that Disney/ABC-owned ESPN itself long had a reputation as a frat house. “If I had a dollar for every time I was sexually harassed at ESPN, I would be a millionaire,” reports one female employee.

What I want to know is why do politicians appropriate taxpayer funds to address bullying by high school students, but they ignore more serious bullying by police, politicians, teachers and psychiatrists? It is a fact that all of the above taxpayer funded institutions and professionals enjoy targeting vulnerable civilians. They abstains from attacking strong, powerful and wealthy individuals who can retaliate. And now there is alleged bullying, a national story of a millionaire professional football player bullied by his teammate. This is a clear example of misguided priorities, by dumbed down journalists. What brave journalists focused on bullying by police, politicians, teachers, psychiatrists, the FBI and their informants? Anyone?
