NY Thieves Get $400,000 Worth of Shoes and Handbags
[From article]
The ringleader, Tamara Williams, 36, is accused of stealing Social Security numbers and birthdates of more than 20 Saks credit card holders and disseminating that information to four store sales associates, who were also busted.
Some 200 pairs of sky-high stilettos, including $2,250 Giuseppe Zanotti boots, and 80 handbags like a black leather YSL beauty priced at an eye-popping $10,000, were on display Monday morning at a press conference to announce the indictments.

Car Thief Fleeing Police Drives Head On Into Two Nurses in New York City
Here is one more fine young man who waited for the owner of his ride to begin work before borrowing his wheels. Doing the job law abiding citizens refuse to do this charming gentleman took out two women nurses on their way to work. What could be more threatening, an individual with a long rap sheet or me? Clearly the police, the local, state and US officials find me more threatening than this young man who injured two nurses. So who sets public safety priorities. Spineless politicians who serve their campaign contributors? Or corrupt law enforcement official who serve the highest bidders?

Fake Thief Asks To Bribe Judge
[From article]
"Two bungling Diamond District jewelers -- already awaiting sentencing for hiring fake robbers dressed as Hasids to stage a $7 million insurance-job robbery -- are back in jail after one of them asked how to bribe the judge.
[. . .]
"This is an unfortunate situation in which a clash of cultures between the United States and India misled Mr. Kankariya, and he is regretful and remorseful for that," his lawyer, Michael Bachner, told The Post."
