Marjorie Decker must expect some jobs for local union residents who make campaign contributions. Cambridge needs more people dancing than it needs bank robbers, muggers or a Mayor. Without a Mayor, Cambridge will save taxpayer funds, that the City Manager can keep in one of his hundreds of special accounts. Without a Chairman of the School Committee there may be more tie votes thwarting the spending of taxpayer funds there also. Taxpayers deserve a trial period with no Mayor and no School Committee Chairman. Odds are there will be little difference, and maybe a change for the better, i.e., money for a new dance center.
