Difficult Decision Time, White House Hibernates

[From article]
You can play it either way, but "a plague on both their houses" didn't cut it in 1941, and it doesn't cut it in 2015.
The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact of 1939 gave Hitler room to conquer Western Europe without fear of an attack on his rear. Stalin was a committed member of the pact until Hitler broke it, at which point Stalin brazenly pivoted to the Allies and demanded rights as a) a full partner and b) an aid recipient. FDR might have said, "Boy, watching Adolph and Uncle Joe battle it out would be great – fascists vs. communists, and no American boots on the ground."
[. . .]
FDR made a great many difficult and ugly decisions – aside from interning Japanese-American citizens and not bombing the railroad tracks to Auschwitz. In this context, he made two for what he thought was the greater good: ignoring Stalin's crimes, and committing all the resources necessary to achieve the unconditional surrender of Axis forces. He put the American economy on a war footing, drafted millions of soldiers, and dropped tons of bombs that often didn't distinguish between military forces and civilians. He believed that the faster the war ended, the better it was for the civilians and everyone else. It wasn't a perfect understanding – particularly for the Jews waiting for deliverance. But it was his understanding, and Truman concurred. Dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a calculated decision to take the casualties, including civilians, up front.
[. . .]
The Cold War was the diplomatic way of boxing in the USSR until it collapsed.
That is not a tactical proposal for coming to grips with the dual horrors of ISIS and Iran. It is a strategic one.
The United States, President Obama, has to decide who the primary enemy is and how best to stop that one. Vladimir Putin posits that ISIS comes first, and requests – begs – the West to take on Sunni jihadists while giving Shiite jihadists a pass.
[. . .]
It is untenable for the U.S. to continue to dither.
[. . .]
Spending half a billion dollars training small groups of Syrians who lie when they pledge to fight ISIS rather than Assad; failing to provide weapons to the Kurds, who constitute the only serious fighting force south of Turkey; doctoring CENTCOM intelligence; and hectoring Putin – as the president did and continues to do – are also doomed to failure.
[. . .]
Thomas Hobbes is the prophet. "Where there is no common power, there is no law, where no law, no injustice. Force, and fraud, are in war the cardinal virtues. No arts, no letters, no society, and which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death: and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short."
If that works for you, fine. Otherwise, it is time to choose and get on with the war that is already raging around us.

American Foreign Affairs Crumbling, Putin Takes Charge

Vladimir Putin

[From article]
Under Obama and the Left, America has retreated from the world. We have abandoned our allies, all the way from Japan and South Korea to Saudi Arabia and Israel. Obama has supported the paleofascist Ikhwan (brotherhood) in the Sunni Arab world, and Iran in the Shi'ite half of Islam. China has snatched a major part of the South China Sea, with its undersea mineral wealth. Russia is gradually pushing Europe back from the East.

While Obama was distracting you with Mohammed the bomb-faking kid, Russia made a major anti-Iran, anti-Obama move in Syria, sending a reported 2,000 personnel to take over a large Syrian airbase in Latakia, along with the naval port of Tartous.
[. . .]

Assad will owe his survival to Uncle Putin, not the theocracy of Iran.
Putin has an alliance of convenience with Tehran, but Russia has centuries of experience fighting Muslim enemies, all the way to the end of the Ottoman Empire in World War I. Putin has battled Muslim rebels in Chechnya and doesn't need a rising nuclear Caliphate next door, an hour's flight from Russia’s borders.
Putin is nobody's friend. He is a Russian nationalist, with a close domestic alliance with the Orthodox Church, just like the czars.
[. . .]

By rescuing the Saudis and Israel from Iranian aggression, Putin is piling up IOU's in the fast-changing world of energy politics. The world price of oil is collapsing with the spread of shale exploitation, and there is no way to stop it. China is becoming a shale producer in the South China Sea.
[. . .]

Western Europe keeps importing hostile Muslim populations from Pakistan, Africa, and the Middle East. The Germans just collapsed in the face of a phony invasion by thousands of "refugees," many men of military age, who did not bother to hide their hatred for their new welfare hosts. Europe's flabbiness is an open invitation to aggressors, both Russia and Islam, and Russia seems more rational.
[. . .]

Only Russia has the will and the military capacity to resist jihad by infiltration. France just launched a bombing raid against ISIS training camps, which happened to coincide with Putin's troop movement into Syria, which also claims to be a move against ISIS.
Our (former) allies, Egypt, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, having been backstabbed by Obama, are not saying a word against the Russian move into Syria. They may not trust Putin, but they can make deals with him. They know what he wants. Saudi Arabia can offer oil and price coordination with Russia, and help to control the Chechen rebels. Israel can utilize its new shale discoveries in the Eastern Med, and is a valuable source of badly needed technology; Egypt is in desperate straits in fighting ISIS and the Ikhwan, and can use direct military help in the Sinai Desert. Even Jordan has been directly threatened by the Iranians.
One big name is missing in all this: America.
[. . .]
As long as Obama is in power, things are likely to get worse for America.

Russia is the New Hegemon

Politicians Often Clueless About What They Speak

Bashar al-Assad

According to this report US taxpayers are funding military efforts for and against Assad. What a White House.

[From article]
Claiming to be lining up a coalition to fight the Islamic State, Putin is also aligned with Iran and Iraq to keep the butcher of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, in power.
This axis of evil would be trouble anywhere, but the involvement of Iraq adds a unique dimension. We are helping to prop up that government and launching airstrikes against the Islamic State in Iraq, an effort that involves giving Iraq’s military our intelligence data.
But The Wall Street Journal reports that Iraqi officials say they will now give that data to the Russian military. That means our intelligence will be used to keep Assad in power.
So more than four years after Obama demanded that Assad resign, the Syrian dictator not only survives, he has gained powerful allies. And we have effectively become one of them, even as Obama still insists Assad must go.

Discrimination Lawsuits, Princeton Decided By US Department of Education, Harvard's Still Pending

This was an administrative decision by an agency run by the White House? Can litigants appeal to the US courts in order to get an allegedly impartial review? The current US government is run by political extremist idealogues. Unlikely this decision was fairly decided. As Yogi said, "It ain't over until its over."

Disabled Virginia Man, 24, Died In Jail, Arrested For $5 Theft

Members of Jamycheal Mitchell’s family, wearing shirts with his photograph, pose for a portrait at the home of his aunt in Chesapeake, Va.
(Timothy C. Wright/For the Washington Post)

This appears to be propaganda for the psychiatric and hospital industries, perhaps a talking points memo written by a PR flack for corporate interests. The report notes the gentleman stopped taking psychiatric medications, suggesting that may have caused his erratic behavior. If stopping taking drugs caused bad, or unwanted behavior, why start taking the drugs? His mother explained he was a happy prankster. Any history of violence, or crime, until after he began taking chemicals? The human services industrial complex (MA State Rep. Marie Parente's term), promotes conflating psychiatric diagnoses with crime and violence. They do not provide evidence of any causal connection.

The prison guard explained he was treated the same as other inmates. But he was held because of a psychiatric diagnosis, which placed him in a different category. He had a disability. Why wasn't he provided with reasonable accommodations? The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 were in effect long before his arrest. Why are prisons not held accountable to these settled laws as the homosexual lobby demands for same sex marriage, a case decision, not a statute passed by the U.S. Congress. Instead the focus is on spending more taxpayer funds to incarcerate disabled persons based upon arbitrary standards of psychiatry. This is one more example of misguided corporate interests overriding good sense and human rights. Nowhere in this article, was the concept of the patient having a disability or having any rights, mentioned. Only taxpayer funded treatment is promoted, which benefits the industry. Rights for disabled persons are inconvenient. Seldom are rights recognized for persons with disabilities.

[From article]
Jamycheal Mitchell had stopped taking his schizophrenia medication before he walked into a 7-Eleven near his family’s Portsmouth, Va., home in April and allegedly stole a Mountain Dew, a Snickers bar and a Zebra Cake totaling $5.05.
After the 24-year-old’s arrest, a judge ordered him to a state psychiatric hospital to get help. But like an increasing number of the mentally ill, he sat in jail for months as he waited for a bed to open.
Other inmates said Mitchell paced naked in a cell often covered in his own filth. Family members said they were told he sometimes refused to eat or take medication, and jail records show he manically yelled. He grew gaunt, and by Aug. 19 he was dead, having shed at least 36 pounds.
[. . .]

“Food was delivered to his cell,” said Lt. Col. Eugene Taylor, assistant superintendent at the HRRJ. “He could have flushed meals.” Taylor said the jail could not say for sure that Mitchell was eating, but he also said Mitchell did not complain that he was losing weight.
[. . .]

But Mitchell also struggled with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder for a decade. Adams said her son had to be hospitalized on a handful of occasions and was unable to hold a job.
Mitchell’s family said he was acting increasingly erratic the week before he showed up at the 7-Eleven and had been off his medication for months. He stole the snacks just after midnight on April 22, according to court records, and was arrested and taken to the Portsmouth jail. His weight was listed as 180 pounds on his arrest warrant. He was around 6 feet tall.
In the days after his arrest, Mitchell waived his right to an attorney and appeared “confused” during an interview, according to court records.

Mitchell’s bond was initially set at $3,000 but was later revoked. The court file doesn’t explain why, but Mitchell’s family members said they were told by court officials it was so he could get help.

Scientists Can Improve Memories of Damaged Brains, That Recall What Officials Don't Want Recalled

This is all well and good, especially to help persons with damaged brains. One concern is when evil doctors decide that a person has a damaged brain and needs an implant to bypass his damaged brain. But the person has no brain damage. That pattern appears with criminal psychiatrists on occasion for personal, political and economic purposes. Frequently politicians, like those in the White House say of persons they disagree with, "They are the crazies." Insanity is often attributed to persons in Cambridge, MA, on university campuses if they disagree with the dominant liberal dogma. "Repairing damaged brains" too can be used for harm. What, if any, protocol exists to prevent abuses of this capability? Researchers with high standards and unquestionable rectitude, seldom think of the use of new technology for evil. They cannot imagine anyone using for evil, what they created or discovered to help others.

[From article]
When your brain receives the sensory input, it creates a memory in the form of a complex electrical signal that travels through multiple regions of the hippocampus, the memory center of the brain. At each region, the signal is re-encoded until it reaches the final region as a wholly different signal that is sent off for long-term storage.
If there's damage at any region that prevents this translation, then there is the possibility that long-term memory will not be formed. That's why an individual with hippocampal damage (for example, due to Alzheimer's disease) can recall events from a long time ago -- things that were already translated into long-term memories before the brain damage occurred -- but have difficulty forming new long-term memories.
Song and Berger found a way to accurately mimic how a memory is translated from short-term memory into long-term memory, using data obtained by Deadwyler and Hampson, first from animals, and then from humans. Their prosthesis is designed to bypass a damaged hippocampal section and provide the next region with the correctly translated memory.
[. . .]

In hundreds of trials conducted with nine patients, the algorithm accurately predicted how the signals would be translated with about 90 percent accuracy.
"Being able to predict neural signals with the USC model suggests that it can be used to design a device to support or replace the function of a damaged part of the brain," Hampson said.
Next, the team will attempt to send the translated signal back into the brain of a patient with damage at one of the regions in order to try to bypass the damage and enable the formation of an accurate long-term memory.

White Privilege More Communist Propaganda Dividing Americans

The concept of white privilege is un-American, because it is a collective paradigm, placing all white people into one group. It also places all black people into one group. Are multi millionaire athletes and celebrities and black politicians deprived? They too cite hardships as they live like Saudi princes. This is just one more example of Communist propaganda dividing Americans by race. Stop the baloney and treat people like the individuals that they are, as their country was founded on strong individual rights unlike any other nation.

[From article]

White people are quick to cite personal hardships instead of acknowledging that they are privileged because of their skin color, according to a new study.
Stanford University’s L. Taylor Phillips and Brian S. Lowery, writing in November’s Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, split test subjects into two groups — with one given more evidence of white privilege in American culture.

Ben Carson Explains How Politicians and Journalists Misled American Black People

Ok, if you want a brain operation he's your man. But do you really want him in the White House making speeches telling the truth? This man is dangerous.

[From article]
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson says traditional politicians have long maneuvered African-American voters for their own ends.
“I think American blacks over the course of next year will begin to see that they’ve been manipulated very, very largely,” he told radio host Mike Gallagher on Tuesday.
“[It is] people telling them what they’re supposed to think and what they’re supposed to say,” Carson said. “I believe that is a dynamic that is in the process of changing.”
[. . .]
“I long for the day when the media realizes that the reason that they’re the only business that is protected by the Constitution is because it is intended to be for the people,” he said.
“They weren’t supposed to pick sides, the Democratic side or the Republican side,” Carson said. “You are supposed to be able to trust them. They take advantage of low-information individuals and people who won’t investigate things for themselves.”

Washington Post Owner Lectures About Income Inequality, While Earning $16 billion in One Year

Billionaire Jeff Bezos

[From article]
The Washington, D.C., paper of record has spent the past year filling bird cages and landfills with stories about income inequality – 156 in print alone and another 404 in blogs or 560 total. Subtract one of those (listed twice in LexisNexis) that included the name of billionaire Post owner Jeffrey Bezos. And that was a column by conservative George Will declaring: “Income inequality is good.”
The remaining 155 print and 403 blog mentions didn’t have any discussion of the newspaper’s fat cat owner. Yet, Bezos is now the fourth-richest American with a fortune of $47 billion, according to Forbes. He purchased the Post for $250 million, wrote the Post.
According to the Sept. 29, Daily Mail “But it was Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos who has emerged as the biggest overall gainer, adding a whopping $16.5 billion to his war chest in a single year after his company posted a quarterly profit in July.”
Whopping indeed. Bezos made 899,521 times the median household income in the United States -- $52,250. Were Bezos a nation, the $16.5 billion would give him a GDP rank of 150, just below Kosovo and above 81 nations including Guinea and Iceland.

More Clinton Campaign Violations Two Felonies in Nevada

FELONY #1? Hillary For Nevada worker Henry Engelstein told potential voters, while registering them, that he was seeking electoral support for Clinton.

FELONY #2? Engelstein denigrates Trump in the video in Spanish, calling the Republican front-runner 'Un payaso muy grande' (a giant clown).

[From article]
A Hillary Clinton campaign worker has been caught on film apparently committing a felony by advising Las Vegas Hispanics how to vote while he is helping them register.
Hidden camera footage shows Henry Engelstein, identified as a campaign 'fellow,' reeling in Spanish-speaking Nevadans on a Las Vegas street with a comical picture of Donald Trump on his smartphone.
'THIS IS MY RESTING B**CH FACE,' the photo's caption reads, meme-style.
'Un payaso muy grande, si!' Engelstein tells passers-by. ('Yes! A giant clown!') In the video, shown to exclusively by the conservative group Project Veritas Action, he boasts that Latinos' anger against the billionaire Republican front-runner is ample motivation for them to register as voters.
[. . .]
At the same time, Engelstein hammers home his enthusiasm for the former secretary of state, telling them: 'Hillary Clinton es muy bueno. Nosotros trabajando para la campaña de Hillary aquí en Las Vegas. Necesito el apoyo de la gente en la comunidad.'
In English, he is saying: 'Hillary Clinton is very good. We are working for Hillary's campaign here in Las Vegas. I need the support of people in the community.'
The video also shows Engelstein appearing excited by his success rate, and placing a phone call to a colleague in search of reinforcements.
'Come here. Come here,' he says in English. 'There's like hundreds and hundreds of people and I just flash a picture of Donald Trump on my phone and they all sign up.'
'[I've] literally just been flashing this picture,' Englestein tells fellow Clinton campaign worker Phillip Kim when he arrives, showing off the 'B**CH FACE' meme of Trump.
James O'Keefe, the swashbuckling right-winger known for exposing the sale of 'Obamaphones' in Cleveland and bringing down the liberal organizing group ACORN with a prostitution sting, told that his organization is engaged in a full-court Clinton press.
[. . .]
Nevada law makes advocating for or against a candidate during the voter-registration process a Class E felony.
[. . .]
Section 10 of Nevada Revised Statute 293, Section 505 prohibits any 'person assisting a voter' with registration from 'solicit[ing] a vote for or against a particular ... candidate' or speaking with them in any way about whom to vote for.
Penalties include a jail term of between 1 and 4 years.
Engelstein couldn't be reached on Wednesday.
A Clinton campaign spokesman initially declined to comment without seeing the video footage in advance.

Wife of Columbia University Graduate Student Jumps to Death

[From article]
A new Manhattan mom jumped to her death from a sixth-floor window early Monday despite a desperate attempt by her Columbia University grad-student husband to stop her, police sources told The Post.
Jiyunu Kim, 33, who gave birth just four months ago, broke free from her husband’s grasp and jumped out the window of their apartment at 414 W. 120th St. in Morningside Heights at about 5 a.m., the sources said.
She landed in a small courtyard, with the window screen falling nearby.
“I woke up at about 5 a.m. and heard a crash. Then I heard a door slamming and someone taking off running. I heard screaming in Mandarin or Cantonese,” said a resident who refused to provide her name.
A police source said Kim lived in the apartment with her husband, Donghan Kim, 27, who attends Columbia’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Neuroscience Sexier Than Moynihan Report of 1965, John DiIulio

"Judge Gertner emphasized the importance of objective neuroscience." What evidence establishes a causal connection between neuroscience and crime? In 1965 Daniel Patrick Moynihan published his report about youth from single parent homes. In 1995 John Di'Iulio described a large group of 7- to 10-year-old boys who were "fatherless, Godless, and jobless." Scholars and academics refuse to address this known source of violence and crime. Neuroscience is interesting. How does it prevent crime? Robert T. Kinscherff [. . .] said there is a need [to understand] conditions that lead to youth delinquency. [and government] should be 'smart on crime.'” He cites the Justice Dept, which has little jurisdiction over violent crimes, mostly a state matter. Senator Moynihan and Prof. Di'lulio provide material for "conditions" leading to "delinquency." Gertner said, “You can actually look at the [neurological] differences," You can also see the differences in young men from one and two parent homes.

Author Questions US Senator Warren's View of Reality

[From article]
Thomas Lifson of American Thinker:
…during the 2012/2013 period, blacks committed an average of 560,600 violent crimes against whites, whereas whites committed only 99,403 such crimes against blacks. This means blacks were the attackers in 84.9 percent of the violent crimes involving blacks and whites.
[. . .]
At your next anti-rape conference, Senator Warren, if someone asks you about who is raping old white women and why, just tell them this, from the a study at Vanderbilt University:
“The elderly victim was more often white and the assailant more often black,” said the study. “The rapists are motivated by anger, possibly racially related.”
[. . .]
At the University of Minnesota, black and faculty student groups became so upset at this they wrote a letter to the president of the university demanding immediate action.
They did not ask for a reduction in crime. They demanded the president direct his police department to stop reporting the race of the criminals.
[. . .]
In Dayton, a young white woman was at getting a post-work snack at a convenience store when a well-mannered black man asked her for a ride. Soon there were four black people in her car. They robbed and beat her.
She lived.
[. . .]

In Austin, a young white man invited his new black neighbor over to his house to play some music. The neighbor killed him.
Outside of Chicago, a black man recently out of prison moved into a house owned by a local church. It’s all the rage now: Re-entry. He kidnapped a woman, robbed her, beat her, and set her on fire. She’s alive, if you want to call it that.
In Takoma, Maryland, a group of black people ransacked a 7-11 and beat the clerks because they were not permitted to buy cigarettes with food stamps. This is a carbon copy of an incident in Oakland a month ago, except the black person was upset he could not buy cat food with food stamps.
[. . .]
In Atlanta, police arrested a black woman for using YouTube to urge black people to kill police and white people.
[. . .]
Senator Warren’s story of relentless black victimization now stands as the greatest lie of our generation.
And the greatest delusion of some truly crazy people.

Updated: Hillary Clinton Campaign Lawyer Hides, After Advising Illegal Acts; Previously Ejected For Practicing Without License

Hillary Clinton Campaign Attorney Christina Gupana

[From article]
The law-evading Hillary Clinton campaign-staffer who was recently snared by undercover video-journalist James O’Keefe was also kicked out a courtroom when she tried to practice law without a law license in 2014.
Christine Gupana, a law graduate and a Hillary For Nevada fellow, was caught urging apparent Clinton staffers and volunteers to register voters without first getting a needed license from a county clerk. “Do whatever you can. Whatever you can get away with, just do it, until you get kicked out, like, totally,” Gupana said in O’Keefe’s video.
Gupana has gone into virtual hiding since the video’s release, and Nevada election officials in the Secretary of State’s office have opened a formal investigation into her conduct on the Clinton campaign.
In 2014, court records reveal that Gupana was removed from a case after a judge found that she was not a member of the U.S. District Court’s Bar, and thus not licensed to work on the case.

The Nevada immigration attorney and Hillary Clinton campaign fellow has gone into hiding since she was captured in a James O’Keefe video apparently conspiring to violate election laws. Gupana told who she thought were Hillary Clinton campaign staffers and volunteers to “Do whatever you can. Whatever you can get away with, just do it, until you get kicked out, like, totally.” Gupana seemed to know that none of these volunteers were licensed to register voters by a county clerk, as required by law in Nevada.
Breitbart News reported Friday that Nevada election officials are now investigating the Hillary Clinton campaign to determine if Gupana or other campaign staffers broke the law.
So what has Gupana been up to?
She deleted the website for her law practice is no longer active. Gupana bragged on the now-defunct website that she was able to withdraw a conviction for a client whose previous immigration lawyer gave her bad advice.

UCLA Sorority Member, 21, From Texas Found Brutally Murdered, Two Arrested

Andrea DelVesco, a UCLA student whose body was found during a blaze a week ago, was stabbed to death during a burglary, then her apartment was set on fire, according to a criminal complaint.
Alberto Medina and Eric Marquez, both 22, were each charged Tuesday with one count of murder and two counts of burglary, according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint.
Medina is accused of burglarizing an apartment in the 10900 block of Roebling Street, which was vacant, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. He then entered DelVesco's apartment and fatally stabbed her, prosecutors said.
Medina also faces a separate felony arson charge of maliciously setting a fire inside DelVesco's apartment before fleeing, prosecutors said.

Court records showed DelVesco was arrested and charged this summer with drug possession. She pleaded not guilty to the charges and was scheduled to appear in court last week, the district attorney’s office said.

Elias Abdurahman, 61, and Sara Kebede Tadesse, 50, are set to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of torture, imprisonment, assault and abuse, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. The couple allegedly used a cane to beat the woman.
The Lancaster couple was arrested Sept. 22 and accused of tormenting and locking up the 54-year-old woman for the past year.
The woman was frail, emaciated and covered in fresh and old wounds when deputies found her Sept. 22 inside the shed in the backyard of a home in the 45000 block of East 2nd Street, the district attorney’s office said. Deputies went to the home after reports of screaming.

Prosecutors allege the couple tortured the woman for the purpose of revenge, extortion, persuasion and for a sadistic purpose, according to the Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint.
A neighbor told KABC-TV that the woman was covered in bruises, but she refused offers of help, saying she was involved in a car accident.

Yogi Berra “personified the American dream” and was a champion for “every single one of” his 90 years on Earth, loved ones said at his funeral services Tuesday.
Police barricades ringed the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Montclair, NJ, where Berra’s family honored the Yankees legend who died a week ago, and a Navy color guard stood outside.
Berra’s longtime friend, ex-Yankees manager Joe Torre, said Yogi was more than just an all-time great baseball player.
“Yeah, [he] won 10 World Series, three MVPs, all the stats, most World Series rings, you know, managed both the Mets and Yankees to the World Series — but he was so much more than that,” Torre told mourners at the Tuesday service, led by New York’s Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
“No matter what you read, it just wasn’t enough to describe what Lawrence Peter Berra was all about.”
Torre spoke for 10 minutes and reminisced about all the good times he shared with Yogi and his late wife, Carmen Berra, who died last year.
“Yogi Berra personified the American dream, you were a champion every single one of those 90 years,” said Torre in his closing remarks to about 400 mourners who packed the church.
“We are grateful. God bless you and your wonderful family, my friend.”

Yonkers, NY Mother Throws Live New-born Baby Out Bronx Window

Jennifer Berry, 33, of Yonkers

[From article]

The newborn baby girl found dead in a Bronx courtyard was still alive when her mom tossed her out of a seventh-floor window, law enforcement sources said Tuesday.
Charges were pending against Jennifer Berry, 33, of Yonkers, who had claimed to cops that she gave birth to a stillborn baby in the shower — then threw the child out of her boyfriend’s bathroom window on Monday afternoon. But the city’s Medical Examiner concluded that the infant was still breathing in the University Heights apartment — and ruled the death a homicide.
“The cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries,” said New York City Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson.
The wife of the building’s superintendent stumbled upon the baby when she was taking out the trash, and cops were called to the scene around 2:45 p.m.

Cambridge, MA City Councilor Wants Uncivil Speakers Chilled

In case you were not paying attention the First Amendment was itself amended by a single City Councilor, restricting speech that is not civil. The city joins Harvard University which objects to criticism as uncivil speech saying it is not protected by the Constitution. This is the latest change in the rules of law for public comment and for other councilors. We don't need no stinkin' speech. No need either for an Executive Order, a burden when the White House makes changes to laws.

Councilor Marc McGovern [. . .] took exception to Mazen’s statement that the increase to $12 is not morally defensible.
“That’s a pretty heavy statement to make because somebody doesn’t feel you’re level of comfort with the risk,” McGovern said. “That’s [a] pretty divisive, nasty thing to say.”
McGovern also said he didn’t like hearing people in public comment say that the council was supporting developers over affordable housing by voting for the increase to $12 instead of $24.“That kind of rhetoric, we’ve got to stop,” McGovern said.

Keeping Cambridge MA Affordable?

Not discussed in this report is the concept of eminent domain, where the city takes possession of land for public purposes. Declare a housing emergency, noting thousands of migrants arriving from the Middle East (the geographic area, not the restaurant), Africa, Mexico and China. Take Harvard University's law school quadrangle and renovate for housing. Build 20 stories of affordable housing on what Harvard calls, the science center plaza (city owned land), and then twin 50 story housing edifices on Cambridge Common. Voila. Ipso facto builto.
